tutor finder
TRANSCRIPT
What is the background of our
situation?:
The problem we are addressing is how students from
different grade levels don’t cooperate. The users we are
focusing on are 6-8th grade, and this app is intended for
students to tutor themselves and other grade levels and to
increase the friendship between grade levels.
Our Specific Problem:
Students throughout grade levels do not communicate with
each other very often therefore they don’t talk.
-Key Insight Statements-One of the key insight statements that we had noticed was “Teacher.”
The way it was used was strange. It had seemed that the audience never liked to ask teachers for help. Students seemed to like talking among themselves rather than the teachers. So implementing this in
our app was a major role in its making.
-Introducing our App-
How can we create an app that encourages cross-grade level
suppose and communication? The app is called Tutor Finder.
Tutor Finder is an app filled with tutors from different grade levels
that are willing to help you out on any struggles you are having
academically. This does not force the younger students to talk to
older kids; they’re getting help and talking to the older kids at the
same time.
-What We Learned From Our Users?-
The interview results requested that there should be a rating
system, others wanted to speak with the tutor and ask
questions, and others wanted to get some information about
the person they are tutored by.
Terms Of Flow
A way that our app works for the users is its simplicity. The app is easy and affordable to use.
-Key Wireframes-
Our app’s core features was to enable students to become
tutors and to find tutors by subject, level and expertise.
Calling System
Note: The image is old, the app’s
calling system in designer mode
looks different from what it looks
here.
Summary of Data, Content, and
Technical Feasibility
Our product relies on data space to hold its users information
and to provide communications between the students. We
feel that our app is easy to manufacture because the app is
simple, small, and grows with its user size.
App Design Mockup-Our Creative Journey-
The beginning of our creative journey was
coming up with the idea. We had no idea what to
do but when it came to us, it was incredible.
There weren’t many Tutor apps that were good,
and so we decided to make one.
We had competition with another group who had
the same idea, but that rivalry kept us going.
Making the app was difficult and we hardly knew
anything about making them. Surely was the
hardest challenge to make the app itself.
App Design Mockup-Our Creative Journey Cont.-
After our app and presentation was done, we
went to the Seattle University to present our idea
and our app. We all were very excited, we wanted
to know if we won anything. We had worked so
hard on the project, it would feel terrible if we
didn’t win anything. Turns out, our wishes were
granted. We won 2nd place, a well deserved 2nd
place.
