Load bearingconcepts
If the exterior appearances play a significant role, then you are on the safe side when using the EJOT mounting elements for the attachment. As the outer shell of the building does not only carry the thermal insulation but also light to heavy mounted parts, it requires a resistant fastening concept. With our new range of products, EJOT offers high quality products and the right solution for all construction and static requirements.

Installation:
Grinding work that is necessary on insulated
surfaces must be carried out before the EJOT Disc
is installed.
1.) Using the EJOT Disc-tool milling cutter, cut a
milled slot in the insulating board and clean any
milling dust.
2.) Apply the PU adhesive Cosmo HD to the circular
area of the EJOT Disc. If the EJOT Disc is only
loaded by transversal forces, it is not necessary
to bond the fixation annular blank.
(See service load specifications, page 18)
Consumption per fixation annular blank
EJOT Disc: 9 - 12 ml
3.) Press the EJOT Disc insulating board flush into
the milled slot.
Subsequent work:
The EJOT Disc can be coated using commercially
available coating-materials for ETIC systems without
primer.
Products are then mounted on the surface of the render.
The coating must withstand the pressure force that
results from the products you have fixed.
Timber or tapping screws are suitable for the screw
connection in the EJOT Disc. Screws with metric thread
(M screws) are not suitable.
1.) The accurate position of the EJOT Disc can be
determined by knocking on the render coating.
Pre-punching with an bradawl makes positioning
the screw easier. Pre-drilling is not necessary.
2.) Screw the product into the EJOT Disc.

Products are then mounted on the surface of the render.
The coating must withstand the pressure force that
results from the products you have fixed.
Timber or tapping screws are suitable for the screw
connection in the EJOT Zylinder as well as such with
cylindrical thread and large pitch (frame screws). Screws
with metric thread (M screws) and self-tapping screws
are not suitable.
1.) The accurate position of the EJOT Zylinder can be
determined by knocking on the render coating.
Pre-punching with an bradawl makes positioning the
screw easier. Pre-drilling is not necessary.
2.) Screw the assembly object into the EJOT Zylinder.
4.) Press the EJOT Zylinder insulating board flush into
the milled slot.

The suitability of the fastening material supplied must be
checked for the existing substrate. In event of unknown
substrate, shear load tests of the fixing material are
necessary before starting assembly on the building.
Requirements on the mechanical fastening
Requirements for the external thermal insulation composite system
A bonding over the entire surface is a requirement
for the mounting angle EJOT Trawik-Set F.
Requirements for the bonded joint
In its fitted condition, the limitation of the deformation
requires the troublefree installation of the EJOT Trawik-
Set F for the external thermal insulation composite
system. The specifications of the system supplier as
well as the professional implementation of the external
thermal insulation composite system must be observed.
Installation:
Before being installed, EJOT Trawik-Set F must not have
any visible damage and must not have been exposed to
weather conditions for longer periods.
Screwed connections must only be carried out in the
are as intended for the purpose. Any changes to the
EJOT Trawik-Set F may impair the load-bearing
capacity and is therefore forbidden.
The projection of the EJOT Trawik-Set F must be maximum
80 mm. (See page 35)
1.) We recommend that the EJOT Trawik-Set F is
mounted with the insulating boards at the same
time when bonding.
Apply adhesive mortar to the bonding surface of the
EJOT Trawik-Set F. The element must be bonded to
the load bearing substrate over the entire surface.
Consumption per EJOT Trawik-Set F with a
layer thickness of 5 mm: 0.35 kg
2.) Press the EJOT Trawik-Set F insulating boards on
flush.
3.) Install the mechanical fixing only after the adhesive
mortar has hardened. The suitability with the screw-in
anchor-supplied must be checked with the existing
substrate. Drill the masonry with perforated brick using
rotary action only (not hammer).
4.) Cut a piece of insulation to fit the existing recess,
apply adhesive mortar and press it flush.

2.) Cut a thread through the compact and aluminium
plate.
3.) Screw the assembly object into the EJOT Trawik-
Set F. The screwing depth into the EJOT Trawik-
Set F must be at least 29 mm so that the screwed

The suitability of the fastening material supplied must be cecked
for the existing substrate. In event of unknown substrate, shear
load tests of the fixing material are necessary before starting
assembly on the building.
Requirements on the mechanical fastening
Requirements for the external thermal insulation composite system
A bonding over the entire surface is a requirement for the
mounting angle EJOT Trawik-Set L.
Requirements for the bonded joint
In its fitted condition, the limitation of the deformation
requires the troublefree installation of the EJOT Trawik-
Set L for the external thermal insulation composite
system. The specifications of the system supplier as
well as the professional implementation of the external
thermal insulation composite system must be observed.
Installation:
Before being installed, EJOT Trawik-Set L must not have any
visible damage and must not have been exposed to weather
conditions for longer periods. Screwed connections must
only be carried out in the areas intended for the purpose. Any
changes to the EJOT Trawik-Set L may impair the load-bearing
capacity and is therefore forbidden.
The projection of the EJOT Trawik-Set L must be maximum
80 mm. (See page 45)
1.) We recommend that the EJOT Trawik-Set L is mounted with
the insulating boards at the same time when bonding.
Apply adhesive mortar to the bonding surface of the EJOT
Trawik-Set L. The element must be bonded to the load
bearing substrate over the entire surface.
Consumption per EJOT Trawik-Set L with a layer thickness of
5 mm: 0.35 kg
2.) Press the EJOT Trawik-Set L insulating boards on flush.
3.) Perform the mechanical fixing only after the adhesive mortar
has hardened. The suitability with the screw-in anchor-
supplied must be checked with the existing substrate. Drill
the masonry with perforated brick without impact.
4.) Cut a fitting piece from insulating board material for an
existing recess, apply adhesive mortar and press the
insulating board on flush.

Subsequent work:
The EJOT Trawik-Set L can be coated using commercially
available coating materials for ETICS without primer.
Assembly objects are mounted on the surface of the render.
The coating must withstand the pressure force that results from
the assembly object.
Screws with metric thread (M screws) are suitable for the screw
connection into the EJOT Trawik-Set L.
Timber screws and self-tapping screws are not suitable.
1.) Drill a borehole through the compact and aluminium plate.
The drilling depth must be 34 – 44 mm.
Drilling diameter:
M6: 5.0 mm
M8: 6.8 mm
M10: 8.5 mm
M12: 10.2 mm
2.) Cut a thread through the compact and aluminium plate.
3.) Screw the assembly object into the EJOT Trawik-Set L.
The screwing depth into the EJOT Trawik-Set L must be at
least 29 mm so that the screwed connection is carried out in
the entire thickness of the foamed aluminium plate.
For determining the total screwing depth, you have to know
the precise thickness of the coating material on the
EJOT Trawik-Set L. The necessary screw lengths result from
the screwing depth, the thickness of the coating material and
the thickness of the assembly object.

The suitability of the fastening material supplied must be
checked for the existing substrate. In event of unknown
substrate, shear load tests of the fixing material are
necessary before starting assembly on the building.
Requirements on the mechanical fastening Requirements for the external thermal insulationcomposite systemThe EJOT SLK-Set is very straight forward to install.
Advice however, on product positioning should be
sought from both the ETICS system holder and
contractor prior to installation.
Installation:
We recommend moving the EJOT SLK-Set before
bonding the insulating boards. Before being installed,
EJOT SLK-Set must not have any visible damage and
or have been exposed to weather conditions for long
periods. Screwed connections must only be carried out
in the areas intended for the purpose. Any changes to
the EJOT SLK-Set may impair the load-bearing capacity
and is therefore forbidden.
The suitability of the fastening material supplied must
be checked for the existing substrate.
1.) Mark and drill the first borehole.
Drill the masonry with hollow brick without impact.
2.) The boreholes must be thoroughly cleaned
from drilling dust.

Subsequent work:
EJOT SLK-Set can be coated using commercially
available coating materials for ETICS systems without
primer.
Assembly objects are mounted on the surface of the
render.
The coating must withstand the pressure force that
results from the assembly object.
Screws with metric thread are suitable for the screw
connection into the heavy-duty console EJOT SLK-Set.
Timber screws and self-tapping screws are not suitable.
1.) Drill a borehole through the compact and aluminium
plate. The drilling depth must be 40 – 50 mm.
Drilling diameter:
M6: 5.0 mm
M8: 6.8 mm
M10: 8.5 mm
M12: 10.2 mm
2.) Cut a thread through the compact and
aluminium plate.
3.) Screw the assembly object into the
EJOT SLK-Set.
The screwing depth into the EJOT SLK-Set must be
at least 35 mm so that the screwed connection is
carried out in the entire thickness of the aluminium
plate embedded.
For determining the total screwing depth, you have
to know the precise thickness of the coating
material on the EJOT SLK-Set.
The necessary screw lengths result from the
screwing depth, the thickness of the coating
material and the thickness of the assembly object.

Glossary
Behaviour of construction products in fireThe construction materials are classified in the
building material categories according to their fire
behaviour.
Classification according to DIN 4102
(Building material category and building authority
designation)
A1 Non-flammable construction materials without
content of combustible construction materials
A2 Non-flammable construction materials with
contents of combustible construction materials
B1 Flame-resistant construction materials
B2 Combustible construction materials
B3 Highly flammable construction materials
Classification according to EN 13501-1
(Class and reference fire scenarios)
A1 Construction products of class A1 do not
contribute to the fire in any phase, including the
fully developed fire Phase. For this reason, it is a
requirement that you are in the position to fulfil
all requirements of the classes specified
below automatically.
A2 Fulfilment of the same criteria as class B with
SIB test procedure according to EN 13823. In
addition, these construction products do not
make any significant contribution to the fire load
and the spreading of a fully developed fire.
B As with class C, but with more stricter
requirements
C As with class D, but with more stricter
requirements. With the additional loading by an
individual burning object, these construction
products also indicate a limited spreading of the
flames to the side.
D Construction products that fulfil the criteria of
class E and are in the position to withstand the
attack of a small flame for a longer period without
any significant spreading of the flame.
They are also in the position to withstand a
loading from an individual burning object with
sufficient delay and limited dissipation of heat.
E Construction products that are in the position to
withstand the attack of a small flame for a longer
period without any significant spreading of the
flame.
F Construction materials that have not been
determined for the fire behaviour or cannot be
classified in the classes A1, A2, B, C, D, E.
Breaking loadsBreak loads are those forces that either lead to a
breakage of the anchorage ground, to the dowel
breaking or being pulled out or to the destruction of the
mounting elements.
Characteristic loadsCharacteristic breaking loads refer to those forces that
are reached or exceeded in 95% of all failure cases
(5% quantile).
DIBtDeutsches Institut für Bautechnik
(German Institute for Building Technology).
DINGerman Institute for Standardization.
Compressive strengthThe compressive strength is the resistance of a
material during the impact of compressive forces. If
the compressive stress is greater than the compressive
strength of a body, it is then destroyed. The compressive
strength is the quotient from the breaking load and the
cross-sectional area of a test specimen. It is normally
designated as force per area (N/mm²) and thus has the
unit of a tension.
Compressive forceCompressive force is a force that acts on a surface
that is directed vertically onto a surface. It is thus
also designated as normal force. The mass unit of the
compressive force is N.
Compressive stressThe mechanical tension (symbol σ) is a term from the
strength of materials, a subsection of the technical
mechanics. It is the force per area (N/mm²) that acts on
the imaginary section surface through a body, a fluid
or a gas. If the compressive stress is greater than the
compressive strength of a body, it is then destroyed.

Recommended work loadsRecommended workloads or maximum workloads
already have a sufficient safety factor.
FractileSee quantile
IECInternational Electrotechnical Commission
Bonding strengthThe bonding strength (symbol β) serves as the
characteristic value for the surface tensile strength of
coating on a substrate.
JalousiesA jalousie is a sun protection and blind facility for
windows and French doors made from adjustable
horizontal pleats.
AwningAn awning is a frame construction with material secured
to an object that, amongst others, serves as a protection
against the sun, heat, shade or physical protection.
Depending on the type and equipment, it can also be
used as vision and rain protection.
NewtonN Newton (N) is the SI unit for force.
It was named after the English scientist
Isaac Newton.
1 N = 1 m kg/s2
One Newton is thus the force that is required to
uniformly accelerate a body at rest with a mass
of 1 kg to the speed of 1 m/s within one second.
daN One decanewton (daN) is equivalent to 10 Newton
and is commonly used unit in France for
forces (1 daN is equivalent to the weight force
of 1 kg).
kaN One kilonewton (kN) is equivalent to 1000
Newton and is the unit for forces in civil
engineering (1 kN is approximately equivalent to
the weight force of 100 kg).
Newton metreOne Newton metre (N m) is the SI unit for the variable
torque (torsion). One Newton metre is the torque that
one force (F) generates from one Newton with a lever
arm (r) of one metre at the rotation point.
Torque = force x lever arm
Quantile
Quantile Fε% (also Fractile) designates a certain
characteristic of a series of measurements that lay
below or above this by only a certain percent rate ε of
all measurement values. The specification of such a
quantile value can only be specified with a confidence
level (W) as the quantile value is only determined from
a limited number of measurements. Without further
specifications, in this documentation the quantile is
defined with ε = 5% and with a confidence level
W = 90%.
Shear forceThe shear force is a force that acts vertically to the
primary axis of a straight-line co-ordinate system.
Perpendicular to it, that means the normal force acts in
the direction of the primary axis.
Raff slat blindsSee jalousie
Roller shutterA roller shutter is a moving lamellae-type construction
arranged rolled-up in the lintel area above windows and
French windows that serves as an additional closing via
the openings on the outside of the building by lowering
along two guide rails using a strap. This predominantly
serves as a sun protection and blind facility but however,
with respective versions, can also take over the function
as anti-burglar protection.

Glossary
Safety factorThe safety factor specifies by which factor that the
failure limit of a structure, component or material must
be dimensioned higher as it should be by theoretic
determinations.
With the global safety assessment, as its name
suggests, a global safety factor is used for the
verification of the load carrying capacity. This means
that the characteristic breaking loads divided by
the global safety factor must be greater that the
characteristic working loads.
The global safety factor γ is put together from a
material safety factor γM and a safety factor of the
impact γL.
Storen (Shutters)Storen (shutters) is a Swiss term. Storen (shutters)
is designated as everything that has to do with sun
protection. It can be an awning, a jalousie, a Raff slat
blind or a shutter.
Coefficient of thermal transmittance
See thermal conductivity coefficient
Thermal bridges Due to their shape, e.g., external building corners
where the material structure is otherwise the same
or, with component connections with the resulting
material change of construction materials of different
thermal conductivity, e.g., with projecting balcony
plates, ceiling cavity wall junctions, window and
door joints, penetrations for balconies, steel girders,
supports, etc. thermal bridges may occur.
Thermal bridge loss coefficient The thermal bridge loss coefficient is a calculation
variable for the detailed calculation of the transmission
heat requirement or, the annual heat energy demand,
quantitative for linear thermal bridges (Psi value) per
running metre W/Cm and with point thermal bridges
(Chi value) per thermal bridge W/C.
Thermal conductivity coefficientThe thermal conductivity coefficient (also heat transfer
coefficient, heat transmission coefficient, former
k-Value) is a value for the heat transfer through a single
or multi-layer material layer if different temperatures are
at hand on both sides. It specifies the amount of energy
that flows through an area of 1 m² in one hour if the air
temperatures at hand on both sides differ by 1 K.
The thermal conductivity coefficient in W/Km² is a
specific parameter of the material composition of a
component.
Thermal conductivityThe thermal conductivity (symbol ) is a material
property that expresses how good the heat transfer
takes place in a material. The thermal conductivity in
W/Km is a specific parameter of a component.
Tensile forceIn physics, tensile force is the designation of a force that
pulls something, thus, acts upon the force generator.
As with compression force, it is also designated as
normal force and has the same unit of measurement N.
A negative tensile force is equivalent to a compression
force.
ValidityAll information was state of the art at the time of
printing. Guarantee or an obligation for the application
