An international learning experienceIn 2018 we hosted students from 70 individual countries. For our students the learning

doesn’t stop with English; an international experience means they can learn from one

another about different cultures from around the world.

Another benefit of learning in an international environment is that it invites students to practise

their skills by using English as a common language. Because our social programme encourages

Memorable opportunities across our schoolsMany of our students expect more from Twin than just quality English tuition;

they want entertainment and activity too. Our Social Programme, available in

London, Eastbourne and Dublin for students aged 16+, is designed to keep

students busy outside of the classroom.

Student welfare

We want our students to have a safe and enjoyable stay with us. In all three

of our schools, our student services teams are in place to give advice and

guidance, and can help with almost any individual enquiry, from advice on

what to do at the weekend, to where to find a SIM card.

We can provide airport transfers and a Meet and Greet service to make sure

our students arrive comfortably, and for those concerned about insurance we

can provide medical and travel cover through a licensed partner. We can also

help students enjoy their time with us by booking tickets to theatres, events

and attractions.

Our schoolsWe have three English centres for our students to choose from, two in the UK and one in Ireland. Each school offers something different, from the vibrant city to the peaceful retreat of the seaside.

For anyone who wants to develop or improve their English skills, we believe

there are no better places to study than the UK and Ireland. In either

Our London centre is more than just a school.Our biggest school, and headquarters, is based in London’s Royal

Borough of Greenwich, an area full of historic and cultural landmarks.

The school is only a short journey from London’s lively city centre, and is

located near many of Greenwich’s naval and historic attractions. With

on-site amenities including a library, gym* and swimming pool*, our London

school offers more than just English learning: it’s a place for recreation

and enjoyment too. Lessons are taught in our fully air-conditioned, bright

and modern classrooms. Students can socialise in our spacious common

areas, and study in the public library or our self-study centre fitted with

student computers. There is free Wi-Fi throughout the school and an on-site

library with thousands of books, allowing students to educate and entertain

Student progressionOur teachers provide regular progress reports, personalised assessment

Available in: London (17/06 to 30/08)

Tuition: 15hrs per week

Course duration: 1-8 weeks

This programme allows adults and juniors to travel to the UK together for their

studies. Adults will attend General English classes while juniors (10-15) attend

classes tailored to their age group, with an exciting syllabus of fun and games

designed to build their confidence.

• General English Level: A1–C1, Age 16+

Available in: London, Eastbourne & Dublin

Tuition: 15hrs per week, morning or afternoon

Course duration: 1-50 weeks - starts every Monday

General English focuses on students’ core language skills: Reading, writing,

speaking and listening, as well as grammar, vocabulary, and pronunciation.

Students will improve their fluency, accuracy and confidence using English so

that they can achieve their language goals.

• Intensive English Level: A2–B2, Age 16+

Available in: London, Eastbourne and Dublin

Tuition: 15hrs morning + 7.5hrs afternoon (22.5hrs total)


Tuition can be made intensive by adding afternoon lessons to morning

General English. Students can choose afternoon modules (see opposite page)

depending on their interests, objectives, and level. Eastbourne and Dublin

students also have the option to extend their General English into

the afternoons.

Students will learn the IELTS exam requirements and format while developing a strategy to pass with the

highest possible score. Classes include practice of all question types to ensure that there are no surprises on

the exam day. For a high score, students need extensive practise of reading, writing, speaking and listening,

therefore, combining a General English course with IELTS preparation is great exam preparation. We can

also help students to apply for the exam in one of the nearby test centres.

• Conversation Classes Level: A1–B2, Age 16+

Available in: London


Our conversation classes include group discussions, role play, and debates. Classes are aimed at

expanding vocabulary, improving pronunciation, and helping students to become more confident

when taking part in a conversation. This course is ideal for those requiring additional help with their

speaking and listening skills.

• Business Communications Level: B1–C1, Age 16+

Available in: Eastbourne and Dublin


Students will improve their performance in business-related areas including interviewing, negotiating,

presentations, and communication in the business environment. Case studies will help them learn

about business theory.

• English for Work Level: A1–C1, Age 16+

Available in: London, Eastbourne


The course is suitable for anyone who needs to use English in their job, or is looking for a job in an English-

speaking environment. Students will learn practical workplace language, as well as how to apply for a job.

The course covers applications, CVs and interviews, writing emails, speaking on the telephone, participating

in meetings, giving presentations, negotiating, and customer care.

This programme lets students study what they want as frequently as they

want. With access to a maximum of 30 hours tuition per week, students take

General English in the mornings and can either take more General English in

the afternoons or choose from any of our afternoon modules (see page 17).

• One-to-one English

Focused tuition with one teacher and one student.

Course duration: By request

Location: London, Eastbourne and Dublin

Age: 16+

Level: A1-C1

Our One-to-one classes offer many of the benefits of our General English

course, with the added bonus of highly personalised one-to-one tuition.

After discussing your personal aims, we will then tailor your lessons to

your requirements.

• Academic Year in Ireland

Students can spend a year in Dublin improving their skills.

Course duration: 25 weeks + 8 weeks holiday

Location: Dublin

Age: 16+

Level: B1+

This option allows students to focus on their English learning for an entire

academic year. Students can choose between morning (15hrs), afternoon

(15hrs) or both morning and afternoon (22.5hrs) classes. Students can also

combine 16.5hrs of General English per week with with 6 hours of IELTS

preparation or Business Communications modules (see page 17).

At Twin Chapterhouse Dublin, we help students develop with assessments

every two weeks, and individual face-to-face feedback.

• Teacher development Level: B1+ Age 21+


This course is for non-native teachers of English who want to learn more about communicative teaching

methods. Lessons are tailored to the requirements of the group and balance theory with practice. Theory

lessons include learning about methodologies, discussions about best practice and reading articles, while

the practical aspect of the course involves planning lessons, writing course plans, teaching mock lessons

and observing teachers.

• CLIL Level: B1+ Age 21+


This course is aimed at teachers who deliver subject lessons (history, geography, maths, science, etc.) in

English. Participants learn about a range of teaching practices and methodologies. The course includes

practical sessions on preparing CLIL lessons and delivering sections of these lessons to peers.

• Global Career Skills Level: B1+ Age 16+


This set of 3 programmes is designed to develop the various skills students need in order to pursue a

career in an English speaking environment, as well as the kinds of situation they can expect to encounter

in the work place.

• Business Communications Level: B1+ Age 21+


Ideal for graduates and business professionals, our Business English course allows students to develop

their English for the workplace. This is an intensive course available only to groups of students aged

21 and over.
