Twitter is a social networking and micro-blogging service
What is Twitter?
- allows users to post their personal life update
- created as a side project by Obvious, a creative environmentin March, 2006 in San Francisco, California
- allows us to control who's updates we see, and who sees our updates
- allows users to read other's personal life updates, share with each other
- soon after, it was branched off as it’s own company

How Does Twitter Work?
- posting updates from a device in 140 words or less (a Tweet)
- check it from the website, or mobile applications on phones or devices
- find users by name, and “follow” them or be “followed”(subscribe to updates)
- create a profile and settings

Why Twitter?
- an alternative method to keepupdated on your contacts’ status
- no extensive formal communicationcommitment (emails, or phonecall small-talk)
- quick, concise and to-the-point information sharing
- a method of updating others on yourstatus and sharing information

Where is Twitter?
- on your phone (via text messages, mobile browsers)
- on news sites
- on Facebook
- on mobile devices (iPods, iPhones, Blackberry)

- on personal blogs
- on RSS feeds
How can it be improved?
- no way of sending a specific group of people within your followers list a mass direct reply
- the possibility of making money from Tweeting?
- lack of categorizing your followers/following into custom groups
Although an intuitive and constantly growing process, Twitter could always improve:
