The CMS Cepcor 2 Function Hydraulic Power Unit has been designed for the operation of Symons 4.1/4ft, 5.1/2ft & 7ft cone crushers that are equipped with
hydraulic bowl locking and adjustment, the same unit can be used to operate all 3 sizes of crushers.

Installation Procedures
Certified electrical contractor to connect 3 phase power supply to isolator in electrical control box.
Connect hoses to machine, (diagram provided within this manual giving details of which port operates each function).

Fill hydraulic oil tank to top
level of visual level indicator (grade of oil to be suitable for local ambient temperature conditions).
Open the control valve under
the manifold block by loosening it all the way out, then BUMP control switch on control box to “Hand” and back to “Off” and check electric motor rotation is running clockwise when looking through the top of the motor fan cover. The HPU cover will need to be removed to verify the fan rotation through the top of the motor fan cover.
WHEN CHECKING MOTOR ROTATION DO NOT RUN MOTOR FOR EXTENDED PERIOD OF TIME.
RUNNING THE MOTOR IN REVERSE WITHOUT OPENING UP THE SPECIFIED VALVE MAY RESULT IN PUMP DAMAGE.

Starting the Crusher Ensure the valve (positioned
directly below manifold block) has been closed.
Switch the main control switch
to ‘Hand’ position, this will start the electric motor and begin to pump oil to the hydraulic lock posts.
The operating pressure under normal conditions is 2400 PSI, when this has been achieved switch the main control switch to ‘Auto’ position.

By operating in ‘Auto’ mode the hydraulic pressure to the hydraulic lock posts will be maintained between
2100-2400 PSI by pressure switch control.
Should the main control switch be left in ‘Manual’ position, a timer in the control box will cut the electric motor out after approximately 3 minutes. This can be
reset by switching the main control switch to ‘Off’ position, and then back to either ‘Hand’ or ‘Auto’.

Typical Adjusting Cycle Switch the main control switch
from ‘Auto’ to ‘Hand” position. Depressurise the hydraulic
lock post circuit by pulling back the RIGHT HAND manual lever valve, and hold in this position, this will exhaust pressure from the hydraulic lock post circuit and supply pressure to the adjustment ram valve.
Bowl adjustment can then be
made by pulling back the LEFT HAND manual lever valve to extend the bowl adjustment rams, and releasing the lever to retract the rams. The bowl adjustment rams can then be extended and retracted as many times as are necessary to achieve the required crusher setting.

Once the required crusher setting has been achieved, release the RIGHT HAND manual lever valve to re-pressurise the hydraulic lock post circuit.
Once the hydraulic lock post
circuit has reached its operating pressure of 2400 PSI the main control switch can be returned to ‘Auto’ position.
Should any maintenance need to be done on the hydraulic power unit the selector switch should be put in the off position. Depressurize all circuits so the gauges read 0 PSI by opening the pilot operated check valves slowly.
