Rover's Mission

Searching for treasures, new and rediscovered,

for theatre "off the beaten path."

Rover Dramawerks produces lost or forgotten works of well-known authors,

revives excellent scripts that have suffered from lack of exposure,

and discovers unknown gems of the stage.

Who's Who

Schelle Cantrell, “It’s all in the Details!!” Costume Credits: The Baltimore Waltz, Steel Magnolias, The Best Christmas Pageant Ever, Arsenic and Old Lace, Annie Get Your Gun, Yes Virginia, There is a Santa Claus, My Three Angels, and The Ransom of Red Chief. Not only has she been found backstage, but on stage from time to time in various productions at Theater Coppell, Greater Lewisville Community Theater, and the University of Texas at Arlington. Rick Dalton is happy to make his return to the Rover stage after playing the part of Ben in the 2005 production of Little Footsteps. Rick has performed in many productions throughout the metroplex over the past 15 years, but he has asked us not to bore you with credits. He would simply ask for you to enjoy this show. However, Rick would like to send his love and gratitude to Dmitri, Alexa and Drew... because "without the likes of them, the known world is a parking lot." Private Eyes marks Lisa Devine’s inaugural production in Dallas. Lisa holds an MFA in Directing from the University of Oklahoma. She has directed in every type of theater from Community to Equity theater over the past 15 years of directing. She was nominated for Best Director in Chicago for the Joseph Jefferson Award for her direction of Eye of God. Lisa has enjoyed directing all types of dramatic literature like Never the Sinner, Lonely Planet, A Shayna Maidel, Schoolhouse Rock Live, as well as several world premieres. She has taught theatre in 6 states including the programs at Rutgers University, University of the Arts, and DePaul University. Currently, she is on faculty for Collin County Community College theater department. Cat Hundley has been acting for nearly a quarter of a century. She obtained her Bachelor's in Theatre Arts from UIW, in San Antonio, in August of 2000. Favorite roles include Helen Keller in The Miracle Worker, the title role in The Diary of Anne Frank, La Cubana in Latina and The Mother in Blood Wedding. Her recent exploits with Rover include the Adult Acting workshops, sound board operator for Goldilocks and the Three Bears, and playwright for ODO8. This is Joslyn Justus’ first time to assistant direct for Rover after having appeared on stage in Rover’s production of Little Footsteps opposite Rick Dalton. After receiving her B.A in Theatre from Austin College she’s has been involved with costumes and props at Grapevines’ Runway Theater and Onstage in Bedford. She is excited to be working with such a wonderfully talented group of artists. John Mallory Land has acted, directed, designed, and produced with various local companies, including Frisco Community Theatre, Rover Dramawerks, and Acme Diversified Theatricals. He is currently serving as Treasurer on the FCT Board of Directors and is also a founding member of

Page2Stage Productions. Productions and staged readings of his original scripts, including Making Damaged Goods, Trapture, and The Promised Land, have been presented at Teatro Dallas, the Bath House Cultural Center, the Foundation for Human Understanding, and Rover’s One Day Only series. He wishes to thank Jeff for his moral support and encouragement. Private Eyes is Chris Leffel's second production with Rover, as he previously was the Sound Designer for Goldilocks and the Three Bears. Locally Chris has worked for Watertower Theatre, the Dallas Theater Center, and Texas Woman's University where recently he provided the lighting design for the Department of Dance's fall concert. Chris is enthused to be working with Rover again and would like to thank his wife Lin for her unending love and support. This is Julie Reinagel's first show with Rover. She has performed with other theatre companies around Dallas such as Bootstraps Comedy Theatre, Our Endeavors Theatre Collective, and UTD, as well as companies in Houston and San Antonio. Jason Rice has been on the Rover board since it was founded nearly seven years ago. He has designed sound for such shows as The Compleat Works of Wllm Shkspr (abridged), Night Must Fall, The Glass Menagerie and Light Up the Sky. He has received awards for acting and sound design and has composed music for both live theatre and video, receiving the Aegis Award for his original composition for Matt Kaufman’s film short Willoughby. He most recently directed and designed sound for The Baltimore Waltz for Rover last season. As much fun as theater is, Jason’s favorite role is DADDY to 5-year-old Stephen and 2½-year-old Scott. Frank Shirar is retired from a 27-year career with the U.S. Air Force and 16 years as a Defense Department civilian employee. During that time, he performed with American theater companies in Europe and community theater groups in the U.S. Prior to coming to Plano, Frank completed three seasons with Desert Players Theatre of Tucson and was a member of its board of directors. His performances there included the role of Big Daddy in the Tucson Theater Ensemble production of Cat on a Hot Tin Roof and Brabantio in the Tucson Community Theater production of William Shakespeare’s Othello. Most recently, Frank appeared in 2006 Rover Dramawerks productions of Love From A Stranger and One Day Only #7. This is Michael Sturlin’s first trip back treading the boards since he got married last spring. He is very excited to be working with Rover again. You might have seen him in Rover’s productions of War of the Worlds, Goodnight Desdemona (Good Morning Juliet), or Spider’s Web. He would like to thank his wife for her undying support and putting up with his nonsensical ranting about the house. Also, he thanks the Good Lord for giving him the ability to bring levity to the masses. À votre santé!
