Monitoring function for broken wires and short circuitA 10 kOhm terminating resistor is connected to the terminalsfor remote ON/OFF (limit switch). This is to be relocateddownstream of the last limit switch in the event of additional

signal lines being connected. The broken wire and short circuit relay analyses the followingresistance values:

▪ > 10.3 kΩ: broken wire

▪ 10 kΩ: good state

▪ 1 kΩ: pump start through actuation of limit switch

▪ < 300 Ω: short circuit

Modular systemThe break tank package booster set for fire fighting comprisesthe following modules, which can be separated as required.

▪ The pressure booster system comprises one pump, acontrol system, valves and a common piping system. Thepressure switch and temperature sensor are supplied fittedand electrically connected, with default settings.

▪ Break tank with inlet and flushing device, overflow anddry running monitoring. The components are suppliedassembled and pre-set. The electric components areconnected to the control system of the pressure boostersystem via plug-type connectors. If required, they can bedisconnected to de-energise them.

DesignFully automatic, ready-to-connect break tank package boosterset for fire fighting, modular design, comprising a single-pumpsystem and break tank for the hygienic separation of drinkingwater and fire-fighting water, on the same base frame.

Function Automatic modeThe pump is started and stopped as a function of pressure by afully automatic control unit. If the pressure drops below the setstart-up pressure pE the pump is started up via the pressure

switch. When consumption decreases, the pump is stopped as afunction of pressure after the set after-run period. Thepressure booster system can also be controlled via External ON/OFF signals (e.g. via a switch in the wall hydrant for the fire-fighting system), independently of the pressure switch. Inautomatic mode, the protective features (dry runningprotection and motor protection) cannot be enabled as waterhandling in an emergency is of top priority. Only a faultmessage will be displayed.

Function Manual modeIn exceptional cases, the system can also be operated inmanual mode.
