appropriate( 1hat kind of light is %est for photosynthesisin plants( .lorescent, -ncandescent, or *atural Sunlight(Our hypothesis 'as that *atural Sunlight 'ould 'ork the%est4 after all, the oldest land plant 'as around 567million years ago( Then 'e thought +orescent light 'ould

%e second %est, %ecause it8s 9uality is %etter than that ofincandescent light( -ncandescent light, 'e thought, 'ouldyield the least amount of photosynthesis, it is almost theopposite of 9uality :plantlight;(

Procedure

>( La% Procedure# Take one of your t'o card%oard %o"es and cut a small hole in the top, %ig enough to 3tyour light %ul%(

6( Attach the .luorescent light to the top of the card%oard %o" in 'hiche0er 'ay necessary ?'e used ducttape so that no outside light enters the %o"(

@( Repeat steps > and 6 'ith your second card%oard %o" e"cept 'ith the incandescent %ul% instead of the+uorescent %ul%(

5( To collect data, you 'ill need to %e a%le to plug your sensor into your computer( To do so, do'nloadLogger Pro 0@(@ onto your computer and use the GoLink con0erter to plug the sensor into thecomputer(

7( Remo0e one leaf from the pea plant and place it in the O"ygen Das Sensor 2ham%er

( Place the cham%er in the card%oard %o" 'ith the .luorescent light 'ith the light turned o( ?make surethere is no light in the cham%er

E( Let the leaf stay in the dark for e"actly 5 minutes to pre0ent any photosynthesis for occurring(

F( 1hen the 5 minutes are done, turn the light on(

G( Let the leaf sit in the light for 5 minutes and record the o"ygen output 'ith your O"ygen Das Sensor(
