EVENT OVERVIEWUniversal Orlando’s Grad Bash ‘16 is a separately ticketed, SCHOOL SANCTIONED, private event for graduating high school seniors and their chaperones. This one-night event encompasses both Universal Orlando® Resort theme parks and features live concerts and street entertainment, as well as the parks’ rides and attractions. Select Rides and Attractions may close early due to required nightly maintenance. Please check the event guide upon arriving at Grad Bash to see a list of rides and attractions.

CHAPERONE INFORMATIONAs a chaperone, you play a key role in the success of the event for your school’s students. Your involvement and visibility during the events will help to deter inappropriate acts by those attending. Please review this entire document and help us make Grad Bash ‘16 a success for your group.

Chaperones are encouraged to go out and visit the different areas of the park, and be visible to students during this special event. We know that adult visibility helps make this event more enjoyable for everyone attending.

CHAPERONE WRISTBANDSIn order to clearly identify chaperones, you will be asked to wear a checkered wristband throughout the night. Chaperone wristbands will allow you to experience special VIP extras including the following:

• Universal ExpressSM Unlimited ride access* to participating rides and attractions

• Access to chaperone-only lounges with complimentary snacks and drinks

• Complimentary breakfast

*Valid during Grad Bash only. Unlimited ride access limited to one person per wristband. Some attractions excluded. Additional restrictions may apply and benefits are subject to change without notice.

CHAPERONE LOUNGESWe invite you to take a break at either of our chaperone-only lounges located at Mythos Restaurant® in Universal’s Islands of Adventure® and Pantages Theater in Universal Studios Florida®.

• Universal’s Islands of Adventure® – Lounge is located at Mythos Restaurant. Chaperones can play casino games* and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks. *Subject to change

• Universal Studios Florida® – Lounge is located at Pantages Theater. Chaperones can watch movies or sports on TV and enjoy complimentary snacks and drinks.

CHAPERONE INFORMATIONCHAPERONE BREAKFASTThere will be one location in each park for the chaperone breakfast. The chaperone wristband will allow ONE (1) breakfast per person. Breakfast will be served from 9:00pm until 12:00am. The locations for the Chaperone Breakfast are:

• Universal’s Islands of Adventure® – Breakfast will be served at Thunder Falls Terrace® located in Jurassic Park®.

• Universal Studios Florida® – Breakfast will be served at Lombard’s Seafood Grille located in San Francisco.

FREE UNIVERSAL EXPRESSSM UNLIMITEDUniversal Express allows chaperones to skip the regular lines* at select rides and attractions at both parks. Please go to the Universal Express entrances at each participating ride or attraction and show the ride attendant your checkered wristband to gain exclusive access.

The Chaperone Express event entry also entitles chaperones to a separate entrance into the event. Each arrival location will have a designated entry located to the far left of each entrance. Please show your checkered wristband to the attendant located at the chaperone entrance for access to the Chaperone Express event entry.

CHAPERONE INSTRUCTIONSBEFORE GRAD BASH:• Confirm that all students attending the event are attendees at your school and are of senior standing.

• Ensure you have Grad Bash tickets and wristbands for all students and chaperones. In the event that tickets are lost or additional tickets are needed, there will be sites at your entry location to purchase additional tickets.

• Make sure students are adhering to the appropriate attire guidelines and are not carrying inappropriate items. Merchandise will be available for purchase at event entrances for those in non-compliance who still wish to enter the event (see Dress Code, page 8).

• Have a plan for you and the other chaperones to contact each other if needed. We encourage you to bring cell phone chargers. Electric strips will be provided at both chaperone lounges. We ask that chaperones set their phones to both audible ring and vibrate.

• Advise students that they will be going through a security check upon entry. Anything deemed inappropriate will be confiscated and may not be returned. Any illegal substances or items will be dealt with by the appropriate authorities.

• For your safety, Universal’s roller coaster attractions do NOT allow riders to carry cell phones with them. If you are on call during the event, please ensure that Universal can reach someone from your school in case of an emergency.

TRANSPORTATION• Universal Orlando® does not provide

transportation. Every group must provide their own transportation to and from Grad Bash.

• Only bus drivers or chaperones may drive each vehicle.

• Anyone driving a personal vehicle to Gradbash MUST park in the Universal Orlando parking garage.

• In the event you become separated during transit, we recommend you distribute event tickets and wristbands to each student or

ARRIVAL NOTESWRISTBANDSWe ask that all students and chaperones put on their Grad Bash wristbands before exiting their buses. Please note wristbands will be sent to your school in March 2016. Students will be assigned solid color wristbands. If you do not receive enough wristbands, additional wristbands will be available at each of our arrival check-in points. If a checkered wristband is worn by a student Universal reserves the right to confiscate the wristband and notify the Head Chaperone.

ARRIVALStudents and chaperones must arrive as a group to Grad Bash. Chaperones should stay with their group during the beginning of the event for entry and at the end of the event for exit. Late arrivals of students or chaperones must be pre-approved by your school’s Head Chaperone and by the Grad Bash Team. If you have a circumstance where you have a late arrival, please contact the Grad Bash Team at least two weeks before your visit date at 407-363-8223.

Upon arrival at Universal’s Grad Bash ‘16, the Head Chaperone should immediately report to the Head Chaperone check-in table at the arrival location of your school.• We ask that you designate ONE (1) Head Chaperone to check in your school at the Head Chaperone table.

• We ask for up to three (3) cell phone numbers as a means of contacting you during the night of the event. We will not use your cell phone number after the event date.

CHAPERONE COMMAND CENTER

The Chaperone Command Center will be located in Islands of Adventure at Circus McGurkus Cafe Stoo-pendous™ (indicated on Grad Bash Event Guide). This location is centrally located near the crossover between parks and will serve as a command center for any student issues for both Universal’s Islands of Adventure® and Universal Studios Florida®.

ARRIVAL NOTESPROHIBITED ITEMSWhen entering Grad Bash, both chaperones and students will go through a security check, which includes passing through a metal detector. Security will also be screening students and chaperones for the following prohibited items:

• Alcohol

• Illegal drugs

• Cigarettes, E-cigarettes or tobacco items

• Weapons

• Any chains, spiked collars and spiked belts

• Any accessories that may be used as weapons

All unauthorized items will be confiscated by Universal Orlando® Security. Chaperones are allowed to bring cigarettes for themselves, but are only allowed to smoke in designated areas located near Chaperone Lounges. We ask that chaperones do not smoke around students.

PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONPrescription medication must be labeled with the student’s name or must have proper prescription paperwork. The student must present an ID. To expedite this process, it is recommended that a chaperone accompany the student through security check. Over-the-counter medication should be left at school or on the bus. Any medication that is not in a prescription bottle (i.e. loose pills) with the student’s name will be confiscated by Universal Orlando Security. If a student needs to bring medication, please only bring enough medication for the evening/24 hours. Do not bring a whole bottle of prescription medication. Also, students may carry inhalers, EpiPens, insulin and other necessary medications, but proper prescription documentation is required.

HEALTH SERVICES (FIRST AID)Universal’s Grad Bash will have the Health Services Department available throughout the event. In the event of injury, illness, or medical needs, Health Services can be found at two locations in Universal’s Islands of Adventure® and one location in Universal Studios Florida®. Please refer to the Grad Bash Event Guide for Health Services locations, or ask any security officer or team member for help in the event of an emergency. Should a student require medical attention, the Head Chaperone will be called and then directed to the appropriate location.

DEPARTURE NOTESDepartures are color-coded and match the color of your wristband. These color-coded exit areas will also be shown on the Grad Bash Event Guide, and additional signage will be placed throughout the event towards the end of the evening.

Though we do not encourage early release of a student, there may be special circumstances when a student may leave the park early with pre-approval from the school’s Head Chaperone and from the Grad Bash Team. The Head Chaperone must escort the student to a designated transfer area, and a parent or legal guardian must be present in order for a student to be released from the park. If you have a circumstance where you have a student that needs to leave the park early, please contact the Grad Bash Team at least two weeks before your visit date at 407-363-8223.

Since Universal’s Grad Bash is a special after-hours school event, we do have a “lock-down” policy. Due to the “lock-down” policy and safety considerations, everyone, including Chaperones, will have to stay in the parks until the event ends at 2:00 am. In the event that a chaperone must leave early, he or she must have approval from the group’s Head Chaperone. Chaperones will NOT have access at any time to the Universal CityWalk® restaurants, shops or movie theater.

STUDENT INFORMATIONStudents attending Universal’s Grad Bash have a responsibility to: • Treat others with respect and honesty• Remain in approved attire throughout the event (see Dress Code, page 7)• Conduct themselves in a manner that will not interfere with other guests• Report any hazardous or dangerous situation to an adult or Universal Orlando® Team Member

Students must not:• Possess or distribute any prohibited materials, such as drugs, drug paraphernalia, alcohol, cigarettes

and all tobacco products, weapons, or any gang-related item• Fight or engage in horseplay• Harass others for any reason• Chant school or city names, area codes, etc.

SUGGESTED GUIDELINES FOR SCHOOLSStudents who have been recommended for expulsion or who have serious disciplinary issues should not be permitted to participate in this event.

Universal’s Grad Bash is a once-a-year school event requiring enforcement of a dress code to ensure proper dress/attire for students and chaperones. All outfits must remain intact for the entire Universal’s Grad Bash event and any Pre-Parties. We thank you in advance for your cooperation with our dress code.

^Universal Orlando Resort team members and Event Staff have the right to refuse admission to anyone whom they deem to be dressed inappropriately for the event and not in compliance with these guidelines, and will continue to enforce this dress code throughout the event. Why should we attend Universal Orlando’s Grad Bash?Universal Orlando’s Grad Bash is the ultimate graduation celebration for high school seniors. Encompassing BOTH Universal Studios Florida® and Universal’s Islands of Adventure®, it features the largest “footprint” of any Orlando graduation event. With cutting-edge rides and attractions, the hottest musical performers, dance zones and more, it’s a party only Universal can throw. Plus, we let chaperones in on the fun with free Universal ExpressSM Unlimited ride access*, the popular chaperone-only lounges, complimentary breakfast and more.

Who is eligible to attend Universal Orlando’s Grad Bash?High school seniors and their chaperones may attend this event. It is up to the discretion of your school administration to allow students to bring dates who are not graduating seniors. All participants must be either students or chaperones from your attending public or private school. Schools may bring their junior class officers to give them a preview of the Grad Bash experience so they can help promote it to their class next year.

Are there any special responsibilities for our chaperones during Universal Orlando’s Grad Bash?Yes, at least one of your chaperones must be on duty throughout the entire event. Your Head Chaperone is required to check in immediately upon arrival. Please provide up to three cell phone numbers of chaperones attending the event. Please be sure chaperones check cell phones frequently and program phones to both vibrate and audibly ring. Chaperones may not leave the event until park close except for an emergency. Chaperones are required to make sure that students follow the no smoking, no alcohol and no drugs policies throughout the entire evening. This is considered a school event, so all school rules and regulations should be enforced by all chaperones.

Do our chaperones receive complimentary admission to Universal Orlando’s Grad Bash?Yes. One complimentary chaperone ticket is provided for every ten (10) student tickets purchased.

What kind of security will be present?All bags, pockets and other items are checked for any illegal substances and weapons. For everyone’s security, metal detectors are used to check guests at the event entrance. All questionable items will be confiscated at the gate. Security is visibly present throughout the parks during the event.

Is there a dress code?Seniors should wear comfortable clothing that lets them have fun while still looking their best.

How do we know specifically where to arrive and depart from the event?Four weeks prior to the event, you will be sent an information packet including everything there is to know about your Grad Bash experience including specific arrival and departure locations.

What is there for chaperones to do?In addition to the free admission, chaperones can skip the regular lines* at participating rides and attractions with complimentary Universal ExpressSM Unlimited ride access. Plus, chaperones enjoy special VIP extras including snacks and drinks all night long, complimentary breakfast, giveaways and games throughout the night, and the ever-popular chaperone-only lounges.

Are there restrictions on prescription medication?Any prescription medication must be in the original prescription container and only the dosage needed for the student’s visit to Orlando is allowed. The student’s name must be printed on the label and a valid picture ID is required. Also, students may carry inhalers, EpiPens, insulin and other necessary medications, but proper prescription documentation is required.

What if I have a student/chaperone who is arriving late or needs early departure from the event?Since Universal Orlando’s Grad Bash is a special after-hours school event, we do have a “lock-down” policy. Can I use my Annual Pass to gain admission to Grad Bash?No. Grad Bash is a hard ticketed event that is sold separately. In order to attend Grad Bash ‘16 you must purchase a Grad Bash Ticket.
