*** ANNUAL ROSTER ISSUE - DO NOT TOSS ***
SUPPORT UTAH IDAHO DISTRICT FOUNDATION
WITH A $100 DONATION TO COMMEMORATE 100
YEARS OF KIWANIS SERVICE
We need your support today to sustain our tradition of making scholarships possible for Key Club and Circle K members in our
District. The Foundation in the past has been able to award up to five $1000 scholarships each to
Key Club members and Circle K members through donations by Kiwanis Clubs in a “Club Gifts”
to the Foundation. “Club Gift” traditionally has been to donate $6 per person or $100 whichever is
greater. Half of the scholarships were provided by a matching grant from International Kiwanis
Foundation. Last year the International Foundation stopped its program to match half of those
scholarships.
The only source of funding for the Utah-Idaho Foundation is through the generosity of its
members, Kiwanis Clubs, and other interested persons/corporations. Today, we need you as
members and clubs to increase support to Utah Idaho District Foundation. In addition to the
traditional “Club Gift” we are asking members to make a donation as well.
We invite you as Kiwanis members in the Utah-Idaho District to donate $100 in honor of the
100th Anniversary of Kiwanis International to Utah-Idaho District Foundation to help support youth
service clubs and scholarships.
In celebration of our Kiwanis International 100 Year Anniversary, the district designed a
fantastic 100 year commemorative lapel pin for this momentous event, highlighting UT/ID District,
thanks to the art work design by Div. 1, LTG Dick and Marilyn Sanford. The pin is 1 inch wide,
silver with white “K”, and a blue and silver banner on the bottom. These pins are available for sale
at $10 each. They will be available for your LTG’s to pick up for you, at the October Board of
Trustees meeting in October. So, place your order, with payment, to your LTG to be purchased at
the BOT meeting in October. All proceeds from the sales will be going to the Utah - Idaho District
Foundation.
The Reed Culp Medal – Reed Club medal has been created to honor our Past International
President Reed Culp. Reed Club was a member of the Salt Lake Kiwanis Club and was an active
Civic leader. He was a partner and owner with his brothers and later with his sons of Culp & Sons
Sheep Co. He was named to the national board of Boys Clubs of America and was appointed to the
Salt Lake Mayor's Committee on Juvenile Delinquency.
The function and goal of the Utah-Idaho District Kiwanis Foundation is to establish
permanency, through contributions and donations that will assure our youth leadership and
development programs will continue without interruption. Promoting high moral, ethical and
spiritual leadership examples to our youth is the key to this. As you may know, this annual campaign
is the primary source of income and determines much of the Foundation's impact, particularly in the
areas of supporting Kiwanis sponsored programs.
I pledge to support the Utah Idaho District Foundation in the amount of $100 in
commemoration of the International Kiwanis 100 years of service, please join me.

HELLO KIWANIANS!
My name is Elizabeth Kwan and I will be serving as the
2015-2016 Utah-Idaho Circle K District Governor. I am a
sophomore studying psychology and music at the University of
Utah. This will be my fifth year in the Kiwanis family – second in
CKI – and after spending every moment in the UI district, I can see
what a great impact we make on our community, even though we
are a smaller district. Now, imagine the difference we could make if
we had more members.
My main goal is to stimulate long-term growth in our
district. Currently, the UI district has 70 members from our 5 active
CKI clubs: Brigham Young University, College of Idaho, Treasure
Valley Community College, Utah State University, and the
University of Utah. Part of that goal includes starting CKI clubs at
the Salt Lake Community College and Boise State University. I
have met with Kiwanis clubs in the Salt Lake City and Boise areas
to help with this process. Along with that, the district has provided
formal training to all club officers, so they will be prepared to
spread the word about CKI and increase membership.
Another goal I have this year is to build the relationship
among the members of the Kiwanis Family. Most of the CKI clubs
already have a strong relationship with their sponsoring Kiwanis
club, but the district is really going to stress the importance of
working with the other branches as well, especially Key Club. Our
hope is that through our growing relationship, Key Clubbers will
want to continue their journey through the Kiwanis family after
they graduate from high school. We have already taken a step
towards this by planning a joint Fall Rally with Key Club in Utah
and brainstorming project ideas with our club officers. I’m looking
forward to work with our members to reach these goals this year!

Greetings
I am Connie Zhou, a leader, a servant, but most importantly, a Key Clubber. I am excited to be able to serve as the 2015-2016
Utah-Idaho Key Club Governor and hope to accomplish many goals throughout my term. During my term, I will be working on the
membership growth and development of Key Clubs, the increase of successful Key Clubs, and the strengthening of Kiwanis Family
Relations.
The biggest resource for any Key Club is their Kiwanis advisor club. During my year as governor, I plan on enforcing that
bond between Key Club and their Kiwanis Family and to help each other grow.
During my term, I aim to see more Key Clubs reach out to their Kiwanis Advisor clubs to do service and learn more about the
great organization that sponsors them.
I hope to see many of our Key Clubbers continue their journey as service leaders and join Circle K, and hopefully one day,
Kiwanis.
My email is [email protected]. If anyone has any questions for me about Key Club, I will be happy to answer them.
Our website is: http://uikeyclub.org/ to learn more about what Key Club is doing.
Thank you and I cannot wait for another successful year filled with service!

THANKS TO ALL THAT MADE THE
96TH ANNUAL CONVENTION GREAT Wes Sine, 2015 – 2016 Utah – Idaho District Governor
As your Governor for the 2015 – 2016 year, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Convention Committee for a job well
done. Those who attended agree that there was something for everyone. The tour of the Aero Space Museum at Hill Field was
spectacular and our guide was very competent. We found out later that he was a Captain in US Air Force and did this in his spare
time.
Thanks to the Bonneville Club for arranging for the Luncheon on Friday. The mayor of Ogden was a credit to his city. By the way
Ogden is a fantastic place. Twenty Fifth Street has something for everyone. It featured great food and many Boutique Shops .
The educational classes were well done with something for everyone.
Ruth Incitti gave a first-hand view of the Eliminate Program and what it means to so many women and children. For the first time I
really felt the great work that is being done and committed myself to working harder to fulfill my obligation to this mighty program.
The Fish Farm was without peer with fantastic food and professional Western Music. I don’t know how many caught fish, but the
hamburgers were the best. Thanks again to the Ogden and North Ogden Kiwanis Clubs.
Thanks also the Ogden and North Ogden Clubs for officiating at the Saturday Luncheon. International Trustee Lance Incitti gave a
great presentation making all of us proud to be a part of Kiwanis International.
PAGE 7
THANKS TO ALL (Continued)
The Panel on CKI, Key Club, Builders Club, and K Kids was very
informative and exciting to all that attended. Many questions were
answered for those who attended. The CKI Governor and the Key
Club Governors are exceptional young women and give cause to
our support of these great programs.
Finally, the Banquet was well done and the Speaker
Attorney General Sean Reyes gave us a sight of the world and the
vulnerability of the youth to those who would take advantage of
them for personal gain. Once again affirming Kiwanis commitment
to serve the children of the world. The Freedom Leadership award
was presented the Governor Mitt Romney and the Hope of America
award was presented the Orrin Hatch in abstentia
Oh Yes, thanks to the Stewart Family for the fantastic gifts that
were given during the convention. The dolls, some costing $100.00
were to be treasured and handed down from generation to
generation.
I wish to thank all that made this convention great, and thank those
who came. I know that you were all well rewarded for your efforts.
Next year the convention will be in Sun Valley, Idaho on August
11, 12 and 13. Make this your vacation for the summer and bring
the whole family. There will be much to do and much to learn.
I’d like to take a moment to say thanks to all of who you planned and participated in the Utah-Idaho District
Convention this year! I had a great time and it was wonderful to see many of you that I only get to see every so
often. I appreciate the camaraderie our Utah-Idaho District has built as well as the hard work we do as clubs,
divisions and as a district. Each one of us matters, so thank you.
Wishing you a wonderful New Kiwanis Year. Please let me know what you found particularly helpful, or if you
have any follow up questions or suggestions. We strive to make the regional trainings and convention better each time. We don’t know
how to do that without hearing from you.
You’re the best! Kelly

WHAT DID YOU DO THIS SUMMER?
I have had a very enjoyable summer! It started with a fantastic International Kiwanis Convention in our organizations backyard, Indy!
Big things are in the works for Kiwanis International, and I am proud to be a part of this great family we call Kiwanis. More recently,
our Utah-Idaho District Convention reinforced my belief in Kiwanis: So many small details came together to create a wonderful
memory of fellowship and service. To kick things off, Thursday evening was the "Hospitality Suite" that allowed everyone to greet and
talk with International Trustee Lance Incitti and his lovely wife Ruth. The Ogden, and the North Ogden Kiwanis Clubs' hosted a very
pleasant bar-b-que on Friday to get everyone excited for the week-end ahead. The Eliminate Walk reinforced our commitment to our
partner, UNICEF in our tagline for this convention-"Save the Children". The Bonneville Club provided the program for a lunch with
Ogden Mayor Mike Caldwell and his very gracious welcome to the Utah-Idaho members. The Saturday evening banquet had everyone
rocking with Sun-Shade-and- Rain "doo-wop" singing group, before the Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes spoke on a most important
subject, the child traffic industry. I use the term industry, because of the international scope of the problem. Those in control are not
your back alley weirdos and perverts, but many people in higher realms of other business enterprises. Mr. Reyes opened many eyes of this vicious, global menace, and perhaps Kiwanis International could take on this problem in the future. On a District level we could
begin to learn now how we may create an impact to fight this dreaded atrocity.
On Sunday morning we paid tribute to Kiwanis members that have passed on, followed by a very inspiring message by Rabbi Ilana
Schwartzman. My personal thanks to all that organized the service. The convention however was not just eating and entertainment, but
offered many fine informative seminars and training sessions. Prizes were awarded, just by attending the classes, and I do hope folks
came away with a greater knowledge of Kiwanis. The next Utah-Idaho District Kiwanis Convention will be August 12-14, 2016 in Sun
Valley, Idaho. Past Governor Jim Spinelli is already canvasing the venues in the area, and in October Sandy and I plan to visit the Sun
Valley area on a "fact finding" mission as well. The next Kiwanis International Convention in the summer of 2016 will be held in
Toronto, Canada. Two great conventions next year--make your plans now to join us in our goal to "SAVE THE CHILDREN'!
In Kiwanis service, Captain Jim Vaughan, Governor Elect
SERVICE INDUSTRIES Larry Hunter, Utah-Idaho 2015-2016 Vice Governor
Greetings from Argentina and my thanks for your support at the District Convention. I will do all I can through electronic
communications to get up to speed and stay up to speed with regards to my obligations as Vice Governor. I will be back in the United
States at the beginning of May, 2016 and hope to see many of you thereafter.
Argentina is a beautiful, diverse country, but it has one glaring weakness: there are no Kiwanis Clubs (there are Rotary Clubs).
Nonetheless, the people are very hospitable, friendly and cultured. Buenos Aires, where my wife, Iris, and I live is a cosmopolitan city
of 2.5 million residents within the city limits and 8 million in the greater Buenos Aires metropolitan area. My wife and I are kept busy
with our assignments: I work in my Church’s Area Legal Department and she is the Area Mental Health Adviser.
Since we are unpaid missionaries, you could say that we are in the “service” industry. Indeed, as members of Kiwanis, we are all in the
business of serving others. Of the many reasons that we belong to Kiwanis, I have always felt that serving others is the most essential,
without taking anything away from the other purposes and benefits. When we serve out community as a club we can do things that we.
PAGE 8
SERVICE INDUSTRIES (Continued)
cannot do as individuals. Furthermore, the fellowship with fellow Kiwanians and those we
serve is enhanced by those service opportunities. And we almost always learn something
during a service opportunity
I know from experience that most clubs have service projects and some Divisions do. I
would encourage all of us in this upcoming Kiwanis year to participate in a club service
project—make service to your community a part of your Kiwanis experience.
ABOUT LARRY HUNTER …
In addition to his active litigation and dispute resolution practice, Larry Hunter has been a
leader in Bar governance. He was President of the Idaho State Bar, a member of the State
Bar Commission, and is currently a member of the American Bar Association’s basic
governing body, the House of Delegates (HOD). He has been a State Bar Delegate to the
HOD since 2004. He has also served on numerous commissions, governing boards, and
steering committees in both the State Bar and the American Bar Association.
His current practice emphasizes dispute resolution and he has served as a mediator,
arbitrator, hearing officer, and neutral evaluator. He has helped dozens of litigants reach
satisfactory settlements or other resolutions.
As a litigator, Mr. Hunter has over 35 years of experience in trying cases before state and
federal judges and juries. Mr. Hunter is known as an effective advocate for his clients’
position while participating in an ethical and professional manner. He is particularly adept
at finding inconsistencies and other weaknesses in the opposing party’s case and exposing
them both before and during trial.
After graduation from college and prior to attending law school, Larry spent two years as a
missionary for his church in Chile and then two years working for the Latin America
Division of Bank of America’s International Banking Department. While in law school,
aside from working part- time, he served as the Lay Minister (Branch President) of a
Spanish-speaking congregation in Chicago. Thus, for the past 40 years, Larry and his wife
have been conversant in Spanish and included in Spanish-speaking activities.

MY JOURNEY AS U-I GOVERNOR 2014-15
By Revis Turner, U-I Kiwanis Governor 2014-15
Kiwanis is on a journey to Serve the Children of the World. I’ve discovered there are as many ways to serve as there are clubs in Utah-
Idaho. Although there are many challenges along our journey, each club from the smallest to the largest in our district has the
opportunity to choose a path to make that journey.
Our Kiwanis theme for 2014-15 was “The Way Ahead: A Century of Service”. We celebrated that part of the Journey in many ways.
First, for me, it was a highlight to present worthy Kiwanians the Century of Service Award. I met many wonderful people who have
given many hours in service to communities, clubs and children. Among those:
Two members celebrated 100th birthdays this past year-- Dr David Kirkpatrick of Pocatello & Bob Wangsgard of Ogden.
Archie Stradley—Caldwell’s Mr Santa Claus and recorded 60 years of perfect attendance.
John Colias--an Idaho Person of the Year as recognized by the Boise Community, and a Capital City club member for almost 60
years. He and wife have been married 75 yrs.
Tom McCarthy, of the Boise Gem State Club, 61 year member.
Rita Haggarth, an educator in Pocatello and first woman member of any U-I Kiwanis club -- the Bannock, Pocatello club
PAGE 9
MY JOURNEY AS U-I GOVERNOR (Continued)
Ralph Benson former U-I Governor and member of the Provo Club. Later on a
member of the Orem Golden K club.
Bob Christopherson, 95 years old and a member of the North Ogden club who wore
his WWII uniform at the tour of the Hill AF Base Museum. The uniform still fit—that
was amazing.
Over 36 wonderful Kiwanis servant-leaders were recognized with an awesome legacy
given to us over the last 100 years.
Second, there are many more highlights dotted throughout the year that focused on training
and our Service Leadership Programs.
Our Education team organized two area training events with close to 100 people
attending.
The Kiwanis 100th Birthday party in Detroit with close to 1000 other Kiwanians in
which your district was represented by Wes Sine, Gov-Elect and myself.
Our District Key Club board successfully held a DCON in March after a year’s absence. A
New Key Club began at Horizonte High School in Salt Lake City under the watchful eye of
Kiwanis Advisor & Div 8 LTG. Carter Jones. This high school provides education for a
special population in their school district. I congratulate the SLC club for their initiative to
meet this vulnerable population.
The Price Kiwanis Club will start the 2nd century of service voting women into their
membership. Thank you to the leadership of Div 1 LTG Dick Sanford and Price
President, Bowdy Blanton for guiding this change.
The U-I District Eliminate Project fundraising challenge to provide vaccine to the 61 million
women of the world has committed over $310,000 from 80% of our clubs. The Centennial
Quilt raffle contributed $1361 to our district campaign.
Congratulations to Dave Nelson, Bonneville Club for having the winning ticket. There are almost 60 Kiwanians with Walter Zeller Awards. Thanks to Cheryl
Juntunen and Barbara Mullins for their leadership.
Distinguished Service Awards to deserving District Kiwanians.
o Kiwanian of the Year was presented to Wally Studer, Rupert, for his district
leadership in promoting the Key Leader Camp.
o Utah-Idaho Lifetime of Service Award was given to Don Gale, Salt Lake City
for his outstanding servant leadership through the Salt Lake City Club.
We experienced the beginning of the Formula Campaign to strengthen current clubs
and to begin new clubs in strategic areas.
o At the last report, U-I has reported a net increase in membership after the last
few years of declining numbers. However, let me add quickly, Kiwanis
influence isn’t entirely about numbers, but about the opportunity to serve the
children of our communities, the district and the world. Our clubs are doing
that in large and small ways. Of course, the more hands we have on board, the
more service we can engage in and the more children and youth for whom we
can provide servant leadership.
And finally, the challenge of the journey of “The Way Ahead” in 2014-15 for each of
us is to become the best club we can be and engage in the best service that will bring
out the best in the children and teens to become the best citizens for our world.
Because what we do in our district events provide the foundation for the impact on
Serving the Children of the World in preparation for a Second Century of Kiwanis
Service. Hence, this is the theme of the 96th U-I Kiwanis District Annual
Convention—“Serving the Children of the World One Child at a Time.”
In this portion of our journey, let’s continue our conversation about what our clubs,
divisions, and district will look like in the next 100 years.

U-I DISTRICT PRESENTS THE LIFETIME OF SERVICE AWARD TO
G. DON GALE AT 2015 DISTRICT CONVENTION
The Lifetime of Service Award is presented to Kiwanis members who have demonstrated
over many years of service the ideals of what it means to be a Kiwanis servant-leader. The
far-reaching impact of Don Gale on his community represents the best of Kiwanis and
most importantly provides an avenue for the youth to have productive lives.
Don Gale joined Kiwanis in 1988. He was elected president of the Salt Lake club in the
early 1990’s when it was the largest club in the Utah-Idaho District. He agreed to be the
district chair of the IDD (iodized salt) for Kiwanis International. He helped to rank the U-I
District and the Salt Lake City Club among the top ten in fund-raising per capita,
worldwide. He is a strong supporter of Key Clubs and the Terrific Kids effort. He attended
three international conventions and he wears a diamond Hixson pin. He was a featured
speaker at several district conventions and at many club meetings in Utah and Idaho.
Professionally, Gale was editorial spokesperson for KSL radio and television. He wrote
and delivered six thousand editorial comments. After “retirement,” he started a small
consulting company. He has written regular newspaper columns for almost twenty years.
He wrote and published three books, including the biography of a prominent Salt Lake City
businessman, published by a University of Utah Press. He wrote and presented hundreds
of speeches to groups ranging from accountants to educators. He served on many
community service organizations boards, from Ballet West to the Reading Room for the
Blind.
Additionally, Gale co-founded and co-chaired for fourteen years a citizens committee
called Understanding Chemical addiction Disease. In that capacity, he wrote and produced
several television documentaries about addiction disease, one of which was voluntarily
aired on every television station in Utah. He recently finished a fourth book, and he is
working on a memoir titled “Magic Moments.”
NEW! – DIRECTORS AND OFFICERS LIABILITY INSURANCE
Jim Spinelli, UT/ID District Risk Manager
Nobody expects to be involved in a lawsuit. But insurance is designed to protect against
the unforeseen. In the U.S. and Canada, directors and officers liability insurance helps
protect Kiwanis clubs, districts and members against such claims—so Kiwanians can
concentrate on service and fellowship.
Kiwanis International’s new D&O Liability Insurance Program makes this coverage less
expensive for most clubs in North America. In fact, the insurance costs just US$4 per
member for Kiwanis clubs. For any club with fewer than 125 members, that’s a savings
from the previous $500-per-club premium. The coverage is effective November 1, 2014
(the beginning of the policy year), and all clubs in the U.S. and Canada will be billed for
this coverage with their dues billing.
Why coverage matters
D&O liability insurance protects club or district assets and the assets of members against
the costs of lawsuits. Just a few of the potential costs covered are employment practices
liability (including accusations of discrimination, sexual harassment and wrongful
termination), allegations of mismanagement of funds, failure to enforce bylaws and
violation of state/provincial and federal bylaws.
D&O liability insurance protects the club or district itself as well as directors and
officers—and it also includes committee chairs, other club members and even volunteers
and employees. Thanks to the broad coverage, financial protection can even extend to
foundations, and the Key Club and Circle K International clubs that a Kiwanis club
sponsors.
What does the premium pay for? For Kiwanis clubs, the low per-member cost of D&O liability insurance pays for the
premium and a small administration cost. It also helps fund Kiwanis International’s
payment of the US$50,000 deductible. (The deductible is paid by Kiwanis International
and is not the responsibility of the club)
The premium can be paid from the club or district’s service account. As with general
liability coverage, the premium will be automatically included with the dues billing. The
claim process is also the same as for general liability insurance.
Questions? More details about the coverage will be available in Kiwanis International’s annual
insurance guide. If you have questions or comments, you can contact Kiwanis International
Risk Management at [email protected].

Convention Website:
http://www.kiwanis.org/convention/2016
Candidates will be announced as they are declared. Candidates' pages will be posted as
information is received from the declared candidates.
Don't just have an opinion. Put it into action. Important amendments and resolutions are
submitted for votes at the convention every year. As a convention delegate, you'll be a part
of the discussion.
Volunteer
Become a sergeant-at-arms
Consider volunteering for the Sergeant-at-Arms Committee. Sergeants-at-arms play an
important role by providing logistical assistance and support at all sessions, forums and
events. They enjoy a behind-the-scenes role—with plenty of time left over to enjoy other
convention activities. Make sure to indicate your wish to be a sergeant-at-arms on your
registration form.
Watch the convention site to find out when registration and ticketed events for the 2016
convention will open.

GUYANA IS NEWEST
KEY CLUB NATION!
Sep 07, 2015
Kiwanis International is thrilled to welcome
Guyana as the newest country to join the Key
Club nation and the Kiwanis-family programs.
In the 90 years of Key Club's existence, it has
expanded to 35 countries.
IMPACT AND PROGRAMS
Through the Kiwanis International Foundation,
you can help make the future better for children
around the world—and for members of
Kiwanis’ Service Leadership Programs. You
can join the fight to eliminate a deadly disease
like tetanus, and you can join the immediate
response to disasters that threaten families’
health and welfare.
Our foundation’s programs offer you a range of
ways to make a difference—today, tomorrow
and forever.
You are here to make a difference, to either
improve the world or worsen it. And whether or
not you consciously choose to, you will
accomplish one or the other.

make this update on September 16, 2015. Please share this important notification with other
members. If you have questions, please contact [email protected].

ROBERT G. BARTON 1928 – 2015
Robert G. Barton, born September 18, 1928 in Manti, Utah to Clinton W. Barton and
Geneva Michaelsen Barton. He was educated in Midvale and
Duchesne schools. His family moved to the Avenues in Salt
Lake City and he graduated from East High School. Having
been raised in the patriotic era of World War II, he could
hardly wait to join the Navy, which he did, early, at age 17.
He served two years and was honorably discharged as a
veteran at age 19. Bob entered the University of Utah on his
return and earned BS and MS degrees. While at the U, he was
on the wrestling team and received the Scholarship Award
and at 155 lbs, he could beat any wrestler on the team due as
much to his tenacity as his skill. Bob always credited his

DR. HARRY F. BRUMBACH JR. June 13, 1924 - August 8, 2015
Dr. Harry Franklin Brumbach, Jr., known to family and friends as
Harry, HB, Lin, Dad, Pops, Lover Boy, Harry the Hammer, and
Dr. B, lived a wonderful and long life; but he lost his battle with
cancer on August 8, 2015 at 91 years of age.
It is hard for many to imagine that Harry had a life prior to being
an Idahoan, but his adventure began when he was born to Harry
and Myrtle Brumbach in Essex County, New Jersey in 1924. He
graduated from High School in Newark, NJ and received his

college degree from Bucknell University in Harrisburg, PA. After graduating from New
York University's med school, Harry completed his residency in Surgery at the National
Institute of Health and Cancer Institute in Baltimore, MD.
It was at this point in his career, 1957, that Dr. B made the big move west with his wife,
Mebs, and 4 kids, in a small non-air conditioned station wagon bound for Idaho's Magic
Valley with the goal of experiencing the great "wild" west and setting up a private practice
specializing in general surgery; a practice that ended up spanning 41 years. During these
golden years, Harry and Mebs bore one more daughter and together raised 5 wonderful
children.
He then met and married his beloved wife, Jan, and together they brought two more
beautiful boys into this community. Despite being a "seasoned" father, he maintained his
boundless energy, giving of himself to his family, patients, and community. He gave his all
to everything he cherished. Adventurous horse trail rides with his children, loud cheering
during non-stop baseball games under the blazing sun, family re-enactments of the trek of
Lewis and Clark near the beloved family cabin. This forever instilled a love of the
mountains in his children. These are just a few of the ways he dedicated himself to his
family.
He also loved nothing better than seeing a patient re-gain health! This was not un-noticed
by his staff and colleagues; he was nominated by his surgical nurses, and subsequently
awarded, the Ageless Hero Award. This award he held in high regard. He gave to his
community in many ways including chairing the fundraising committee that brought CSI its
Civic Auditorium. He served as chairman for the Bio Medical Ethics Committee of Magic
Valley Regional Medical Center for over 20 years, and he was the president for the
Dilettantes and an avid Kiwanian to the end.
He was a 50 year Legion of Honor member, 2005 Community Service awardee, and Twin
Falls Club President in 1992-93.
Harry was a proud, yet humble man, and prided himself in helping support his 7 children
through college. This allowed them peace to work toward their dreams. He did not however
go without a little self-indulgence--- near to his last breath, he finished each day with a
hearty bowl of butter pecan or vanilla ice cream!
Upon retiring from his practice, Harry took up woodworking, and as with everything else in
his life, he gave it his all; it became his passion. He spent countless hours perfecting his
hand at making step-stools for nearly every family in Twin Falls, furniture for his close
family and friends, and found a love behind his lathe sculpting bowls, lamps, and candle
sticks. We can all cherish these works of his hands for years to come.
He will always be remembered with love and joy by his family including his wife of 38
years, Jan and children: Kevin Brumbach (Liza), Chuck Brumbach (Cheryl); Todd
Brumbach (Glenda); Kim Brumbach; Claudia Brumbach; Marsha Farley (Cliff).
Grandchildren: Keefer Brumbach (Courtney), Katrina Zepeda (Mark); Zach Brumbach
(Hope), Mike Brumbach (Barb), Sara Duke (Adam), Carly Brumbach, Dylan Brumbach,
Clara McFarlin (Riley) and Emma Farley. Great Grandchildren: Dom, Ben, Mercedes,
Auggie, Josie Zepeda – Caleb, Micah, Benson, Marcella Brumbach. Brother-in-law, Bob
Wissenback (Jan). Harry was preceded in death by his son, Jonathan Brumbach.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Visions Hospice for the loving
care and support they provided to Harry, as well as Jan and the family during the last
several months of his life.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in honor of Harry to the organizations he was
committed to including St. Luke's Medical Center Foundation, CSI Foundation, and Twin
Falls Ascension Episcopal Church.

GEORGE ANTHONY (TONY) WOLFF Jul 30, 1943 - July 21, 2015
George Anthony (Tony) Wolff, 71, of Nampa, died on July 21,
2015 and went to Heaven be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus
Christ. He had struggled many years with Parkinson's disease.
Tony was born in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada on July 30,
1943. He moved with his parents, Dr. R. George and Lenora
(Trix) Wolff, and younger sister Penny, to Homedale, ID when
he was 8 years old. His father was the only medical doctor in

Homedale for 15 years. Times were different then, and Tony and Penny learned to drive a
car while transporting their father to attend to his house calls.
Tony graduated from Homedale High School in 1961 and attended the University of Idaho
where he met his future wife, Katherine. They were married on June 18, 1965 after their
graduation. They spent their next four years in Missouri where Tony attended dental school
at Washington University, St. Louis where he became a naturalized American citizen so he
could practice in Idaho.
Kathy taught first and second grade. After graduation, they moved to Alameda, California,
where Tony served in the Public Health Service at the Coast Guard base at Government
Island from 1969-1971. Their first child, David, was born there.
In January, 1972, Tony became Dr. Charles Hanson's associate, and practiced dentistry in
Nampa, ID until retiring in 2003. He loved his patients, and was most appreciative of his
fine staff and caring front office assistants, dental assistants and hygienists. Two more
children, Matthew and Allison, were born to their family. They loved living in Nampa and
were thankful for the community and for such a great place to raise a family.
Tony served in various leadership positions in the community and in the dental profession.
He was Cub-Master of pack #116, Indian Guides leader, President of the Kiwanis Club,
served on the school board at St. Paul's, Vice-President of the Board of Directors at
Broadmore Country Club, named "Boss of the Year" by the Credit Women's Bureau, and a
member of the College Church of the Nazarene where he loved singing in the choir and in
the Living Christmas Tree. He was President of the Southwest District Dental Society,
President of the Idaho State Board of Trustees, President of the Board of Directors of the
Delta Dental Plan, chairman of the Idaho State Peer Review Committee, head of the dental
staff at Mercy Medical Center, a member of Doctors With a Heart, and a fellow of the
International College of Dentists.
Tony loved his family and placed them first in his life. He so enjoyed golfing and had
many long-time golfing friends. He and his children raised Suffolk sheep and showed them
in 4-H competitions.
A church trip to Haiti in 1993, where he attended to the dental needs of many of the
Haitian people, was very meaningful to him.
His family was devoted to him and offer praises to God for giving them such a fine, loving
husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Katherine, his sister Penny,
Aunts Gladys and Jean, his children David, Matthew, and Allison, six wonderful
grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the gentle, patient, and consistent care
supplied by the caregivers and staff of Harrison's Hope Hospice. The family is also very
thankful for the sensitive and specialized care from the caregivers and administration at the
Streamside Facility in Nampa.
STEVEN DELROY JONES 1939 - 2015
Steven Delroy Jones - born the 1st of November, 1939 to Don
Carlos and Lucy Stevenson Jones - left this world for another
on the 14th of this month, which happens to be the 55th
anniversary of the best day of his life.
Steve was a fiercely loyal son, brother, husband, father,
grandfather, and friend. He gave everything he did 200% and
could not understand any other way of doing things! It only
makes sense that an intense, incredibly fast-acting cancer is
what took him from us.
Steve believed in and was the perfect example of hard work,
but he also played just as hard. Until very recently he could
still be found fixing roofs, on top of scaffolding, digging fence
posts through concrete, playing basketball with guys half his age, or playing blue birds
with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by an infant son Keith, with whom we are sure he has been
happily reunited; his parents; his little sister, Donna; a great-grandson, Jimmy; and many,
many friends. He is survived by his loving wife, Emily; sons Robert (Cynthia), Calvin, and
Dean Russell; daughters Lora (Jim) Sorensen, Cathy (Chris) Goss, and Claire (Kim) Jones,
17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren, and many more friends.
