92% of students involved in Rowing or the High Performance Sports Program
gain first class honours or an upper second-class degree, higher than the figure
for the University as a whole.

Thirteen Bristol Red’s awarded to Rowers in the last ten years, making UBBC
the highest achieving UoB Sports Club.
International success racing for Great Britain at the European Universities
Students Association (EUSA) Regatta and in GB U23 crews.

Regattas as well as the Head Of The River Race and Henley Royal Regatta.

BUCS Head/Regatta:
Held over three days, BUCS is the largest regatta in Europe
Bristol vs UWE Varsity Boat Race:
An annual varsity match drawing several thousand spectators.
Henley Royal Regatta:
“The biggest rowing event in the world”, held over five days and won by UBBC in 1991.
Henley Women’s Regatta:
An all women’s regatta, won twice by UBBC (2001, 2010)
Head of the River Race:
Three hundred plus crews race though the heart of London.
UBBC Head:
Our own Head of the River Race, attended by over a thousand student rowers from across the South West.
BUCS Indoors:
Regional Indoor Rowing competition, hosted by UBBC in 2012, 2013.
EUSA:
European Universities Regatta, GB represented by UBBC in 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011.

Your support will widen participation and deliver better
results
With your backing the club could consider the following:
A new Senior Men’s VIII
The development our Women’s Squad through improved equipment and
coaching.
The purchase of equipment to allow top men’s crews to compete
successfully in boat classes other than VIIIs.
A pair of new VIIIs suitable for novice rowers to replace the leaking
wooden boats currently used by our Novice Squads.
Motor launches to assist with water based coaching
Regular injury prevention sessions for all squads with a qualified
physiotherapist.
A fleet of small boat classes to further expand our racing capability and
help practise the finer points of oarsmanship.
UBBC can offer:
Access to some of the brightest, most active minds at the University of Bristol and equivalent student rowing clubs through:
Assistance by UBBC with the organisation and
active promotion of recruitment events put on at
the University of Bristol.
Access, via the Committee, to the Boat Club’s
email lists and social network platforms for
purposes of recruitment and event promotion.
Brand space on race kit, boats, oars, vehicles,
training t-shirts, hoodies, water bottles, gym
towels, other miscellaneous kit/equipment.
Banners, logos and literature at club events
Photo opportunities with winning crews for
company logos and members of staff, as well as a
regular supply of other photos for sponsors’
promotional use.
