2) Additional info : Ethnic and religious persuasions3 ) Student Finance: Students should tick the box saying ‘not privately funded’ as this will register their intention to apply for finance. If students are not applying for finance and covering the costs themselves, they have to pick from the other options available.

Preparing for the Personal Statement

• This is a VITAL part of your application and shows the university your passion, dedication and interest in them, the course and your future

• It is not meant to be a list to show how many things you have done, but rather a well selected group of examples backed up with explanation

• Even if you are NOT applying to university it is still a good idea to write a statement about why you wish to go in to an apprenticeship, college or employment placement.

• Use the information sheet to guide your understanding of what is needed

• Use the Personal Statement Layout Sheet to put bullet pointed evidence/examples that you will expand upon in your write up

• On Wednesday 5th September you will need a filled in version of the Personal Statement Layout Sheet so that we can start writing a draft in this session.
