Step 1: Layout Floor Plan

Below is an illustration of Step 1 followed by instructions for each section. The image below illustrates the common plan “Reach In Closet.”

Page 7: uDesign Help-All Steps

Step 1: Layout Floor Plan (Zone A)

You will create your closet walls in this step and have the option to change the floor, wall and background colors

Start With A Common Plan

Click the blue arrow to drop down the menu selections.

Click on a a common plan (located in the upper left panel) for a Reach-In Closet, Walk-In Closet or Garage. The closet layout will then appear in the middle Design Graph area. You are now above your closet looking down into it (called a “top down” view)

.

Enter Dimensions Options - if you click and choose a pre-set closet layout, you can then enter the exact measurements into the Wall A - D data entry fields for your storage area.

Notes: A. Dimensions are preset to two (2) decimal places. Convert less than one (1) inch fractions:

7/8 = .88 1/2 = .50 1/8 = .13

3/4 = .75 3/8 = .38

5/8 = .63 1/4 = .25

B. To change the Design Area graph size, click on the graph and scroll to the desired dimensions of your workspace(in feet).

Page 8: uDesign Help-All Steps

Repeat clicking in a clockwise manner until you have the size and shape of the closet you want. To stop drawing, use the right mouse button and click one time.

Enter Dimensions – you have complete control to modify the walls you’ve drawn by changing the dimensions in this section once your walls are drawn on the center grid.- o Or you can drag your walls in the center grid to the size of your choice. o Note: In order to be able to insert a door in STEP 2, solid walls that connect have to
