1.0 INTRODUCTION

This booklet describes the regulations for use, maintenance forseeding machine. This booklet is an integrating part of theproduct, and must be kept in a safe place for consultation duringthe whole life span of the machine. The equipment described in these instructions for use complies with current safety provisions and the current state of the art and technology. However, should the equipment be used in an improper manner, the risk of injury occurring cannot be totally excluded. For this reason, the following pages contain warning messages, marked with the following symbol:

1.1 DESCRIPTION OF THE EQUIPMENT

This particular machine is ideal for not-tilled ground, stubbly ground and for the mechanical control of weeds. The machine is used after ploughing, especially in clayey ground, in order to level out the depth of the ground and bring the largest clods up to the surface. The refi ning and levelling action is carried out by units with disc harrows and rear compacting roller. The cultivators may be used for ploughing purposes, in order to break up the land leaving residues and organic substances in the layers nearer the surface, thereby promoting soil fertility.

Usually, the machine is immediately ready for use. We do, however, recommend checking that the screws, bolts and hydraulic con-nections are well-tightened before use and after approx.15 hours of operation. The highest admissible speed of the machine is 25 km/h. Such speed should, however, be greatly reduced when the ground is uneven. Excessive speed causes high dynamic stress which reduces the life span of the machine. If the machinery is being used on public roads or streets, the cultivator must be equipped in conformity with the provisions laid down by the Highway Code in force. In particular, it should be equipped with suitable lighting and signposting.

ATTENTIONThe equipment has been designed exclusively for the cultiva-tion of stubbly ground or for the preparation of seedbeds on low-tillage land. Any other use different from that described in these instructions could cause damage to the machine and represent a serious hazard for the user.

1.2 GUARANTEE

- On delivery, check that the equipment has not been damaged during transport and that the accessories are integral and complete.

- Possible claims must be presented in writing within eight days of receipt.

- The purchaser will enforce his rights on the guarantee only when he has respected the conditions concerning the benefi t of the guarantee, set out in the supply contract.

- The guarantee is valid for 1 year, against all defects of material, from the date of delivery of the equipment.

- The guarantee does not include working and shipping costs (the material is shipped at the consignee’s own risk).

- Obviously, all damage to persons or things are excluded from the guarantee.

- The guarantee is limited to the repair or replacement of the defective piece, according to the instructions of the Manufac-turer.

Dealers or users may not claim any indemnity from the Manufac-turer for any damage they may suffer (costs for labor, transport, defective workmanship, direct or indirect accidents, loss of earnings on the harvest, etc.).

1.2.1 EXPIRY OF GUARANTEE

Besides what has already been set out in the supply contract, the guarantee expires:- If the limits set out in the technical data table are overshot.- If the instructions set out in this booklet have not been carefully

followed.- If the equipment is used badly, defective maintenance or other

errors by the client- If modifi cations have been carried out without written authori-

zation of the manufacturer and if non original spare parts have been used.

Regular operation depends on the correct use and adequate main-tenance of the equipment. It is advisable therefore to observe scru-pulously what is described in order to prevent any inconveniences that could prejudicate proper operation and duration. Additionally, all the information required to ensure the best use of the machine is provided, together with instructions and useful advice for its correct maintenance. It is just as important to keep to what is described in this booklet since the Manufacturer declines all responsibility due to negligence and non-observance of these rules. At any rate the Manufacturer is available to assure immediate and accurate technical assistance and all that may be necessary for the improved operation and better performance of the equipment.

The manufacturer declines all responsibility for the nonobservance of the safety and accident prevention regula-tions described below.General norms1) Pay close attention to the danger signs in this manual and on

the seeder.2) The labels with the instructions attached to the machine give

abbreviated advice for avoiding accidents.3) Scrupulously observe, with the help of the instructions, the

safety and accident prevention regulations.4) Avoid touching the moving parts in any way whatsoever.5) Any work on and adjustment to the machine must always be

done with the engine switched off and the tractor blocked.6) People or animals must not, under any circumstances be

transported on the equipment.7) It is strictly prohibited to drive the tractor, or allow it to be driven,

with the equipment attached by persons not in possession of a driver’s license, inexpert or in poor conditions of health.

8) Before starting the tractor and the equipment, check that all safety devices for transport and use are in perfect working order.

9) Before starting up the equipment, check the area surrounding the machine to ensure that there are no people, especially children or pets, nearby, and ensure that you have excellent visibility.

10) Use suitable clothing. Avoid loose clothing or garments with parts that could in any way get caught in the rotating or moving parts of the machine.

11) Before starting work, familiarize yourself with the control de-vices and their functions.

12) Only start working with the equipment if all the protective devices are in perfect condition, installed and in the safe po-sition.

13) It is absolutely prohibited to stand within the machine’s radius of action where there are moving parts.

14) The equipment can be applied to any kind of tractor that is equipped with a universal three-point hitch hook-up.

15) Before leaving the tractor, lower the equipment hooked to the lifting unit, stop the engine, pull the hand brake and remove the key from the dashboard, make sure that the chemical substances safely out of reach.

16) The driver’s seat must never be left when the tractor engine is running.

17) Before using the equipment check that all the parts subject to wear and deterioration are in working order.

18) Before releasing the equipment from the tractor, put the hoist command lever in the locked position

19) Only operate when visibility is good.20) All operations must be carried out by expert personnel, equipped

with protective gloves, in a clean and dust-free environment. Always wear protective garments without loose parts that could

become entangled in the moving parts. Remove watches, rings, necklaces etc. whitch could also generate similar risks. Tie up long hair in special caps or similar headwear. The symbols relative to the Personal Protection Equipment to be used and kept at worker’s disposal when required are shown below.

21) Before proceeding to open the side elements and lifting device, ensure that no operators are standing within the area in which oscillating elements are in movement.

22) The machine is a work tool only; do not therefore, under any circumstances, use it transport other persons or walk alongside it while it is in operation.

23) Warning: some parts of the equipment, such as the hinges, hydraulic cylinders, rollers and trolley have the capacity to cause serious injury. Always keep at a safe distance.

24) Always proceed with caution when loosening the locking de-vices.

Tractor hitchBefore hitching the equipment to the tractor, the operator should always pull the parking brake and put the tractor in neutral. If the tractor has a hydraulic hitching system and if the operation is being performed by two operators, the connection of the third point of the equipment could generate a potential risk. The hitching operation must always be carried out by one operator only, following the procedure described below:- place the tractor in neutral and block all possible movement by

pulling the hand brake;- from the tractor cab, activate the control that completely releases

the cylinder rod;- exit from the tractor cab and, standing on the ground, rest the

cylinder rod on the pin of the equipment’s third hooking point;- from the tractor cab, activate the control so that the hydraulic

actuator withdraws slowly until the hook reaches the correct position on the pin of the equipment’s third hooking point;

- exit from the cab and lock the hook with the lever provided.Refer to the tractor’s instructions for the use of the hydraulic controls.1) Hook the equipment to a suitable, suffi ciently-powered tractor

by means of the appropriate device (lifter), in conformity with applicable standards.

2) The class of the equipment attachment pins must be the same as that of the lifter attachment.

3) Take care when working within the range of the lifting arms as this is a very dangerous area.

4) Be very careful when hooking and unhooking the equip-ment.

5) It is absolutely forbidden to stand between the tractor and linkage for manoeuvring the lifting controls from the outside (Fig. 5).

6) Do not, under any circumstances, stand between the tractor and the equipment while the engine is running (Fig.5).

You may only stand in this position after pulling the tractor’s handbrake and after placing suitable chocks under the wheels.

7) The application of an additional piece of equipment to the tractor would change the distribution of wight on the axles. We therefore recommend the adding of special ballasts to the front of the tractor in order to rebalance the weight on the axles. Check that tractor performance is compatible with the weight

that the equipment transfers into the three-point hook-up. In case of doubt, consult the tractor manufacturer.

8) Observe: maximum admissible weight on the axle, total mobile weight, regulations governing transportation and the Hightway Code.

Transport on Road1) When driving on public roads, be sure to follow the highway

code of the country involved.2) Any transport accessories must be provided with suitable signs

and guards.3) It is very important to remember that road holding capacity

as well as direction and braking capacity can be infl uenced, sometimes con-siderably, by equipment being either carried or towed.

4) When negotiating curves, be aware of the variation in centri-fugal force exerted in a position other than that of the center of gravity, with and without the equipment in tow. Also pay greater attention on sloping roads or ground.

5) For transport, adjust and fasten the lateral lifting arm chains of the tractor; check that the seed and fertilizer hopper covers are closed properly; lock the hydraulic lifting control lever.

6) For displacements beyond the work area, the equipment must be placed in the transportation position protective guards for the moving parts located on the attached wings.

7) Upon request the Manufacturer will supply supports and tables for signaling of dimensions.

8) When the dimensions of carried or partially-carried equipment conceal the tractor’s signalling and lighting devices, these must also be installed on the equipment itself, in conformity with regulations of the highway code of the country involved. When in operation make sure that the lighting system is in perfect working order. It is also important to remember that the correct signalling sequence of the headlights includes (Fig. 6):

A - Direction indicator;B - Red position light;C - Stop light.

ATTENTIONMake sure to remove all road panels supports from the machine, before starting to work!

Maintenance in safetyDuring working and maintenance operations, use suitable personal protection equipment (e.g.):

1) Do not carry out maintenance or cleaning work before the

engine has been switched off, the hand brake has been put on and the tractor has been blocked with a suitably sized stone under each wheel.

2) During the various operations performed while the equipment is in the raised position, it is important to secure the hydraulic system and provide a proper support with a view to avoidind accidental raising or lowering of the machine.

3) Work may only be carried out on the hydraulic system when it is the lowered position and pressure has been released. Under no circumstances should work be carried out on the system when it is still under pressure and protective gloves must be worn at all times.

4) Periodically check that the bolts and nuts are tight, and if ne-cessary tighten them again. For this it would be advisable to use a torque wrench.

5) When the equipment is in the raised position during mounting, maintenance, cleaning, assembling etc. operations, always take the precaution of sustaining it with suitable supports.

N.B. Cleaning must be carried out with the machine resting on the ground and, if possible, from the outside.

6) The spare parts must correspond to the manufacturer’s spe-cifi cations. Use only original spares.

3.0 RULES OF USE

To obtain the best performance from the equipment, carefullyfollow what is set out below.

ATTENTIONThe following maintenance, adjustment, and work preparation operations must be performed with the tractor off and locked fi rmly in position with the key removed from the dashboardand the equipment positioned on the ground.

3.1 HITCHING THE IMPLEMENT

3.1.1 ATTACHMENT THE EQUIPMENT

DANGERThe attachment to the tractor is a very dangerous phase, for this reason, it shall be done by one operator only. Be very ca-reful in following the instructions for the whole operation. Do not stand on the machine and on the rear wheels. Perform all operations from the external perimeter of the equipment.

The equipment may be attached to any tractor fi tted out with athreepoint universal hitch. The correct position of the tractor/discs is determined by placing the equipment on a horizontal surface.

1) Check for proper attachment (CAT.3 - pic.7 or K700 - pic.8);2) Fix the tractor lower links in such a way that the implement

cannot swing out sideways;3) Adjust tractor lower links to equal length by means of the

adjusting devices (pic.9);4) Connect the implement and be sure that tractor links are well-

fi xed and locked to its linkage;5) Connect hydraulic lines (standard connectors needs of 2

double-acting ½” spool valves);6) Connect 12-volts lighting equipment connector.

3.1.2 DETACHMENT THE EQUIPMENT

ATTENTION- Parking the machine is a very dangerous operation, for this

reason, it shall be done by one operator only.- Be very careful to carry out the whole operation following

the instructions.- Do not remain in the area of action of the equipment.- Do not stand on the machine and on the rear rollers. Perform

all of the operations from the outside.

The operation should be carried out on a solid, horizontal surface, following the instructions given below:- Lower the tractor lifting unit and rest the equipment on the

ground.- Disconnect the hydraulic pipes from the tractor distributors and

protect the quick couplings with the caps.- Loosen and unhook the the fi rst and second point.

3.2 FOLDING AND UNFOLDING THE IMPLEMENT

The implement must be folded in as follows:

- Lift the implement completely in the front and in the rear side;- Fold the wings acting on the coupled double-acting spool val-

ve;- Lock tractor spool valves (wings and carriage) to prevent unin-

tentional movements.

The implement must be unfolded as follows:

- Lift the implement completely in the front and in the rear side;- Unfold the wings acting on the coupled double-acting spool

valve.

DANGERDo not, under any circumstances, stand near to the equipment while the folding frame is opening and closing.

3.3 ROAD TRANSPORT

For driving on public roads the implement must be lifted (front and back) and folded completely; the folded-in implement has a very high center of gravity resulting in an increased risk of tipping.

- Make sure that tractor lifter is in “Position Control”;- Lift up and fold completely the machine;- Lift up support leg (2 pic.11) and apply the safety locking

device (3 pic.12);- Lock tractor spool valves and implement taps (wings and car-

riage) to prevent movements (pic.10);- Use an appropriate driving style;- Follow the Highway Code of the involved Country.

DANGER

During road transport, disconnect the hydraulic hoses from the tractor. If public roads are used during transportation, install the lighting equipment and relative dimensional cle-arance tables.

Do not exceed the maximum height during transportation (4 metres).

3.4 ADJUSTING THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM

Hydraulic system safety precautions:1) At the moment of connecting the hydraulic tubes to the hydraulic

system of the tractor, make sure that the hydraulic systems of the operating machine and the tractor are not under pressure.

2) For the operative hydraulic connections between tractor and operating machine, the sockets and plugs should be marked with colours to distinguish them, to avoid them being used wrongly. There would be a danger of accident if the connections were to be swapped round.

3) The hydraulic system is under high pressure; because of the accident risk, when searching for leakage points special auxiliary instruments should be used.

4) Not to never carry out the search losses with the fi ngers or the hands. The liquids that exit from the holes can be nearly not visible.

5) During transport by road the hydraulic connections between tractor and operating machine should be disconnected and secured to the support provided.

6) Do not use vegetable oils under any circumstance. These could cause a risk of damage to the cylinder gaskets.

7) The operating pressures of the hydraulic system should be between 100 bars and 180 bars.

8) Never exceed the indicated hydraulic system pressure levels.9) Check that the quick hook-ups are coupled correctly; parts of

the system could get damaged if they are not.10) Oil escaping at high pressure can cause skin injury with the

risk of serious wounds and infection. Call a doctor immediately if such an incident occurs. If the oil with surgical means is not removed quickly, can take place serious allergies and/or infec-tions. Therefore, the installation of hydraulic components in the tractor driver’s cab is strictly forbidden. All the components of the system should be positioned carefully to avoid parts being damage during use of the equipment.

11) In case of participation on the hydraulic system, to unload the hydraulic pressure carrying all the hydraulic commandos in all the positions some times after to have extinguished the motor.

12) Before carrying out checking operations, maintenance or adjustment on the hydraulic system, the operator must put on suitable PPEs*.

* - Summary of the personal protection equipment (PPE) to be used during the machine’s various operating phases.

The hydraulic system is supplied without oil. Before use, it is essential to ensure that all of the hydraulic cylinders are made to move in both directions until the hoses and the cylinders fi ll up with oil. Operations on the hydraulic system must be carried out in absence of pressure and with the equipment resting on the ground.

3.5 THE STABILITY OF THE EQUIPMENT IN ROAD TRAFFIC

When a equipment is coupled to a tractor, so becoming an integral part of it for the purposes of road travel, the stability of the equip-ment-tractor complex may change and cause driving or operating diffi culties (rearing up or side-slipping of the tractor). The condition of equilibrium can be restored by placing a suffi cient number of ballasts on the front of the tractor so that the weights on the two tractor axles are distributed suffi ciently evenly. To work in safety the instructions given in the highway code should be followed; these prescribe that at least 20% of the weight of the tractor alone should be borne by the front axle and that the weight on the arms of the hoist should not be more than 30% of the weight of the tractor itself. These factors are summarized in the following formulas:

(M x s1)-(0,2 x T x i)Z> (d+i)

The symbols have the following meanings: (Fig. 13):M (kg) Mass weighing on arms off hoist with full load (weight +

mass, see cap. 1.5 Identifi cation).T (Kg) Mass of tractor.Z (Kg) Total mass of ballast.i (m) Tractor wheelbase, that is, the horizontal distance between

the tractor axles.d (m) Horizontal distance between the centre of gravity of the

ballast and the front axle of the tractor.s1 (m) Horizontal distance between the inferior point of attachment

of the equipment and the posterior axle of the tractor (equi-pment supported to the ground).

The amount of ballast that should be applied according to the formula is the minimum required for circulation on the road. If for reasons of tractor performance or to improve the set-up of the equipment during operation it is thought necessary to raise these values, please refer to the registration document of the tractor to check its limits. When the formula for calculating the ballast gives a negative result it will not be necessary to add any weight. In any case, as long as the limits of the tractor are respected, a suitable quantity of weights may be applied in order to ensure greater stability during travel.

3.6 FIELD CULTIVATION

- Choose between tractor lifter “Position Control” or “Stress control”;

- Remove safety locking device (3 pic.12) and unlock imple-ment taps;

- Lift up and unfold completely the machine;- Make sure that the support leg (2 pic.11) is lifted up;- Lock tractor spool valve (only wings!) to prevent unintentional

unfolding;- Lower the implement acting on tractor lifter and spool valve

(carriage);- Tractor spool valve (carriage) must be unlocked for acting on

it when fi eld-turning (pic.14-15)

ATTENTIONThe implement working speed should be mantained betwe-en 8 and 15 km/h to ensure a well-made fi eld cultivation.

3.7 SETTING THE RIGHT LINKAGE HEIGHT

With the adjustable drawbar-strut (1 pic.16), implement linkage height can be set in according to the tractor linkage position.

In the same way, can be set the fi eld-effi ciency of the tractor-implement system:

a) If ground-penetration of the implement is bad, drawbar-strut (1) must be shortened. In this way implement linkage will be higher and, when pulled, front disc gang will be charged for better penetration (while the rear roller will be lightened);

b) If tractor has too much slippage, drawbar-strut (1) must me shortened: in this way implement linkage will be higher and the tractor rear axle will be charged for better traction (while front one will be lightened);

c) If ground-penetration is good (soft soil) and power requi-rement is too high, drawbar-strut (1) must be elongated. In this way implement linkage will be lower and, when pulled, disc gangs will be lightened (while the rear roller will be char-ged);

d) If tractor has too much slippage, power requirement is too high but ground-penetration good, drawbar-strut (1) must be elongated and lifter Stress-Control activated.

3.8 WORKING IN STRESS-CONTROL POSITION

- Check the FWD traction is switched on; (pic.17)

- Set lifter fall speed near the highest value; (pic.18)

- Set lifter moving speed near medium value; (pic.19)

- Identify lifter stress value that gives soil-implement right position (parallellism); (pic.20)

In this way lifter stress control action will act by lifting implement (when pulling power requirement or slippage are too high) and consequently optimizes traction.

If implement working arrangement needs to be modifi ed, act care-fully on stress control potentiometer to avoid too large changes.

ATTENTIONThe implement must only be used, mantained or repaired by such people who have the right knowledge about it and who have been advised about the various dangers.

Adjustement and maintenance operations must be carried through with tractor engine stopped and implement in secure and stable position.

3.9 WORKING DEPTH ADJUSTEMENT

Implement working depth can be adjusted between 6 and 12cm: on the front via tractor hydraulic linkage, on the rear via roller manual pins (4 and 5 pic.21) adjustement.

Working depth is increased when the bottom pin (5 pic.21) is in-serted in a lower hole, and reduced when the same pin in inserted in an upper hole.

The upper pin (4 pic.21) must be inserted directly above the roller arm (6 pic.21) to ensure that the weight of the roller is transmitted to the implement frame.

3.10 ADJUSTABLE SIDE LIMITER DISCS

Side limiter discs (7 pic.22) prevent that the external operating hollow discs leave a groove or a dam on the soil tilled surface.

Side limiter discs are inserted in wing pipes (8 pic.22) and fi xed with a pin (9 pic.22) and bolts (10 pic.22).

During work, limiter discs must graze ground surface (without sink in the soil!) and be adjusted as shown in the following picture: the right one must work parallel to the running direction, while the left one inclined to this direction.(pic.23)

Depth-adjustable operating hollow disc (11) must have a working depth halved than the working depth of the other hollow discs and intercept the soil-fl ow conveyed by the left side limiter disc.

In this way the harrow will leave a perfect-worked and planar soil surface.

ATTENTIONImplement operating hollow discs generate lateral forces which counterbalanced each other. If the implement is misaligned with the running direction and:

- Misaligned on the right (predominant front gang forces) lift up carefully with the tractor hydraulic linkage (or act carefully on lifter stress control -if in use- by rotating to lower values);

- Misaligned on the left (predominant rear gang forces) lower carefully with the tractor hydraulic linkage (or act carefully on lifter stress control -if in use- by rotating to higher values).

Maybe that in presence of left implement misalignement, when you try to solve it by lowering in order to realign the implement, it will accentuate its movement to the left. The reason is that greater the front gang working depth the gre-ater the quantity of soil that rear discs engage, amplifying their lateral forces. In this case lower the front with tractor hydraulic linkage and lift up on the rear with roller regulation pins.

3.11 ROLLER PRESSURE ADJUSTEMENT

During work implement frame is normally completely lifted up for trasmitting all its weight to the working apparatus.

If rollers pressure load is too high and they sink into the soil or get clogged, act on tractor double-acting spool valve and lower running axle frame until transport wheels just touch the ground,so that rollers pressure will be lowered.

When the right wheel setting was identifi ed, lock tractor spool valve (carriage)* to avoid changes in wheels position.

The tracks left on the fi eld surface are negligible due to their low weight and large contact surface.

This running axle position is recommended for fast turning/inver-sion operations (specially when tractor has low-fl ow distributors)

ATTENTIONAct only on tractor hydraulic lifter (mantaining the tractor spool valve – carriage – locked) without lifting up the im-plement back: the frame weight is supported in the back by transport wheels preserving rollers integrity.

3.12 ROLLERS

The implement can be equipped with different rollers:

- Single-cage roller and tandem-roller are maintenance free*

- Rubber-ring roller is equipped with adjustable scraper bar (12 Fig.25) and scrapers (13 Fig.26) which must be periodically readjusted for mantaining their 7-10 mm distance from rings-profi le*.

* Rollers bearing-supports require maintenance via greasers.

Adjustable scrapers must be centered between roller rings.

4.0 MAINTENANCE

Here follows a list of various maintenance operations to be carried out periodically. Lowered operating costs and a longer lasting of the harrow depend, among others, on the methodical and constant observation of these rules.

CAUTION- The maintenance periods listed in this booklet are only

indicative and are for on normal conditions on use, therefore be varied depending the kind of service, the more or less dusty surroundings, seasonal factors, etc. For more serious conditions of service, maintenance will logically be done more often.

- Before injecting grease, the nipples must be cleaned to avoid mud, dustand foreign bodies from mixing with the grease, otherwise they will reduce or even annul the effect of the lubrication.

ATTENTION- Always keep oils and grease out of reach of children.- Always read the instructions and precautions shown on the

containers and on the product safety sheets.- Avoid skin-contact.- After use wash the equipment thoroughly.- Dispose of grease and used oils in conformity with the le-

gislation in force.

ATTENTIONBefore performing maintenance on the machinery, be sure to wear appropriate personal protection equipment (safety footwear, overalls, gloves and safety glasses).

ATTENTIONAll maintenance operations must be carried out with the equipment resting on the ground and disconnected from the tractor, with support devices securely in place and the rear rollers resting on the ground.

4.0.1 WHEN THE MACHINE lS NEW

Before starting work, grease all the greasing points. After the fi rst few hours of operation, check that all the screws and bolts are still well tightened. When the machine is new, check all hoses and connections of the hydraulic circuit before starting up the equipment. Thereafter, check that they are in good safe operating conditions at least once a year.

For a long operation-break (e.g. winter season) cylinder rods and regulation-fi llets must be greased (covered) with non-acid grease.

All lubrication points must be greased regularly with environmental-ly-friendly grease, and checking plan must be carried out according to the following table 1.

4.2.0 CONNECTING THE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM TO THE TRACTOR

The hydraulic system is composed of 3 oleodinamic circuits1) Drawbar and trolley movement hydraulic circuit 2) Machine setting hydraulic circuit3) Opening/closing of lateral wings circuit

When mounting the machine the fi xing area of the hydraulic tubes has to be cleared. The tubes are connected to the hydraulic pump of the tractor as it is represented in fi g. 33.

4.2.1 HYDRAULIC SYSTEM SETTINGS REGULATION OF THE MACHINE

The machine is equipped with a cylinder composed of 2 rooms for the movement of the trolley (Room 1) and the setting regulation of the machine (Room 2), both circuits are idependent one from another, these are shown in the fi g. 34.

Before making any operation it is necessary to pull out the safety connection rod.

After a thorough check of the connections for potential irregula-rities (such as oil leaks), with the lateral wings closed and the machine completely lifted, introduce pressure in the system and check the functionality of the wings cyliders, trolley and drawbar.

4.2.2 WORKING POSITION AND TRANSPORT POSITION

Starting from the working position of the machine, give it oil, it will pass to the transport position, it is necessary to assure that the trolley will lift up fi rst, followed by the drawbar. Fig. 35 A

Vice versa, from the transport postion to the working position of the machine, it is neccessary to check when you give it oil that the drawbar will lower fi rst followed by the trolley. Fig. 35 B

THIS OPERATION IS IMPORTANT TO AVOID ANY DAMAGE TO THE MACHINE.

ATTENTIONIn case the movements are incorrect it is neccessary to recali-brate the valves. This is operation must be carried out only after contacting Maschio-Gaspardo Customer Service.

4.3 PARKING FOOT SAFETY

The parking is a very dangerous phase and shall be carried out by a sole operator following the instructions here-below:- Lower the equipment in order to facilitate the positioning of the

support at 90°;- Once the positioning is achieved, lengthen the telescopic support

in order to disconnect the drawbar eye;- Remove the connecting rod in safe manner, in order to avoid

shifting during disconnection.1) When the parking foot is based on the ground the implement

has to be positioned so that the foot is vertical to the ground level see Fig. 33;

2) When the parking foot is based on the ground the drawbar is not hidraulically handled. The drawbar must remain stationary until the foot is lifted up;

3) When the foot is based on the ground, the implement is placed on an horizontal plane in order to be surely stable.

4) Make sure that the supporting foot is completely lifted before moving the vehicle.

4.4 EVERY 10 WORKING HOURS

- Check the conditions of the roller supports, ridging discs and joints.
