Fr. Emmanuel and a friend stand in front of the medical clinic in Nganiko
We have targeted Nganiko, a largeWestern Ugandan village, as the benefi-ciary of our next water project. Thou-sands of people there are eagerly await-ing the opening of the new medical cen-
ter.
Plans are currently underway tocomplete the construction of the build-ing, painting, window installation, etc.Beds, an incubator, and medical sup-plies will be brought in later on onceconstruction is complete.
However, a source of fresh clean wateris essential to the operation of the clinic.Uganda Farmers, Inc. is in the process
of reviewing and signing contracts withour trusted drilling partner, Draco (U)Ltd., and we are hopeful that drilling thebore hole will commence in the firstquarter of 2015.

Nganiko is over 60 miles from the near-est hospital, and as a result, health carein the area is sorely lacking. People candie from very treatable illnesses likemalaria, pneumonia, and wounds. The
new clinic will provide care to all the vil-lagers, especially those most in need:children and expectant mothers. Thenews of the water project and the open-ing of the medical center have been thesource of much joy and hope for thelocals.
Also on our radar is the funding of awater project in the village of
Kengeya.
With the continued supportof our selfless contributors, we arehopeful that we can raise the necessaryfunds to finance this endeavor, whichwe expect to complete in 2015.

I
t is an opportunity for me to say somethingabout Nganiko. Nganiko is a bigger villagewhich comprises many small villages, in-
cluding Rwesigiire. All people from small vil-lages which make up the big village of Nganikoare eagerly waiting for the official opening of themedical center. Immediately after Christmas, weshall do the painting of the medical center walls,we will fix the ceiling, and we will fit in windowglasses. We shall then buy some beds andsome medicine so that by mid January 2015, wecan open the medical center.
The medical center will benefit the children, ex-pectant mothers, and everyone in the village. The medical center will treat malaria cases, cough related illnesses, it will help with deliver-ing of babies, and it will immunize childrenagainst polio and other preventable diseases.Nganiko is located far from urban centers; it
takes a patient about 100km to reach a govern-ment hospital. Even reaching a government hos-pital is not a guarantee that the patient will re-ceive the attention and care he/she needs. Some patients spend days on the hospital floorwaiting to see a doctor. Some patients returnhome without any medication. Nganiko Health
Letter from Fr. Emmanuel
Centre will bring hope and medical care to thmajority of poor village people who otherwiswould stay at home without any hope of obtaining medical care or treatment.
There is even more joy from the people upohearing that soon the medical center will have borehole that will serve them with clean ansafe drinking water!
We are grateful to allour friends in Milfordand from beyond forthe care and love youshow us in helping usto access such ser-vices. We shall con-tinue praying for you.

ur fourth annual Running Water for Africa
5K Run/Walk took place this past Septem-
ber 20 and we had a another good turn
out. The weather was cool and sunny and warmedup as the race went onperfect weather for a 5K!
The two overall winners were Karen Newman, 53, of
Greenwich, CT and James Pisano, 20, of Seymour,
CT.
We had several raffle prizes that were given away
prior to the awards ceremony, all of which were gen-
erously donated by supportive local businesses, for
which we were very grateful to receive and give out.
We also received an abundance of food donatedfrom businesses such as Trader Joes, Julias Bak-
ery, and Chabaso Bakery, and we would like to ex-
tend our thanks to all of the businesses that were so
kind to provide refreshments.
Overall, we had another fun and successful event
and, as always, look forward to next year! Thank
you to all who participated, volunteered, and donat-
ed, and a special thank you to our wonderful spon-
sors who have been so supportive of our cause overthe years. Without all of our supporters, we would
not be able to provide villages such as Nganiko with
the gift of water.

Iganga Babies HomeIganga Babies Home is a non-profit, charitable andfaith based agency that supports, cares for andgives hope to orphans, vulnerable and abandonedchildren ages one day to five years. It was takenover by the Little Sisters of St. Francis in 1973, dur-ing the time dictator Amin forced many foreigners,
both religious and business people, to leave thecountry.
This Home has saved many lives and it currentlyhouses eighty children, all of who are provided withbasic needs (food, water, clothing, health, housing, and love). The Home also cares for the spiritual, moral, and cultural growth of the children by havingreligious classes, Mass, cultural shows, games, andsporting activities.
Iganga Babies Home depends on donations fromfriends, well-wishers and charitable organiza-tions. For the past two years they had been receiv-ing support from USAID, but the funding was recent-ly suspended after Ugandas anti-gay law was intro-duced. The suspension of aid from USAID hasgreatly affected the Home and has caused them tohave to limit the children they can take in. Thosewho suffer most from this suspension are some ofthe worlds most vulnerable children, and they needyour help.
Godfrey Musabe, a Ugandan and longtime supporterof Uganda Farmers, Inc. visited the Home this pastsummer. He said, The kids really want love, theywant to hold your hand and be held.
Please consider making a donation to these pre-cious children.
