This didn’t qualify her to go on to the next level, but was a great achievement. Flynn unfortunatly had to pull out during his High Jump event due to injury, but still managed to jump 1.20 metres. Jasper had a great day, competing in High jump, shot put, 200m and 100m Dash. Jasper will be going through to the North Coast level, which is being held on the 13th September. We wish Jasper luck!

POSITIVE BEHAVIOURS FOR LEARNING - PBL Our Core Values across the school are to promote the school community to be SAFE, SUPPORTIVE and RESPECTFUL.

Support is availableThe Department of Education has provided coun-sellors to the students, staff and parents when it was needed during this hard time. This service is still access-able if needed. If you do not feel comfortable going through the school for support these following services are available to you . Kids Helpline -1800551800, Lifeline - 131114, Reachout.com, Head Space - 1800650890, Beyond Blue - 1300224636. Your local Doctor will also be able to support you. Please ask for help if you think you need it or even just a cuppa and a chat.

Touch Football Gala DayAll students in years 3-6 will be travelling by bus to An-gourie Sports Field Yamba on the 20th September to participate in the Touch Football Gala Day. Students are required to wear full school uniform. Don’t forget proper shoes, hat, sunscreen, water and insect repel-lent. Canteen will be available. Parent helpers and supporters are welcome to attend.

Year 6 Cake RaffleThe Year 6 are well on their way to raise money to pur-chase a line marking machine for the Year 6 gift to the school. This has been a very popular fundraiser with tickets being purchased during the week so as not to miss out. This would not be possible without the contin-ued support from Dane and Charlene from Cafe Clar-ence, who have donated these amazing cakes each week for the school.

Swim and GymStarting Monday 23rd September Ulmarra Public School students will be travelling into South Grafton Pool and Gym for their swimming lessons and gym ses-sion each day for the week. A note has gone home with a permission slip and cost, please return to the of-fice as soon as possible. Thanks to our wonderful P&C for helping with the cost of our Swimming Scheme to make it affordable to all families. Students will need to bring their swimmers, towel, plastic bag and goggles if needed.

It is with great sadness that our school community has lost a beautiful friend, Mrs Tania Watts. Tania has been an important part of our school community over the last 8 years. Tania was our current P&C Treasurer and past canteen co-ordinator. She organised our home readers and covered the majority of the new books given to students from book bank and those in the library over the past 3 years – without a single air bubble! Tania vol-unteered her time helping with craft activities and cooked the most amaz-ing slices and treats. She coordinated the fundraising across the school which included the Mother’s Day, Father’s Day and Christmas stalls, Bun-nings BBQ’s, special events and lamington drives which has raised over $10,000 for our students. Tania was employed as an SLSO across the class-es, at Ulmarra Public School.

Tania will be greatly missed in our school community and Ulmarra township and our love and support go out to Darren, Emily, Sophie and Isabella.

Tania’s funeral Service will be held at St James Anglican Church, Wharf St Maclean, on Saturday 14th September 2019 commencing at 11:00am.
