This module is used if the ULTRAHEAT 2WR5 is connect-ed to an M-bus system and simultaneously has to passon pulses to systems or district heating controllers forlimitation and control.

Integrated service unit
The 2WR5 features an integrated service unit – noadditional equipment is required. The extensive self-diagnostics facilitates rectification of any problemswith the unit or system.
Communication is standard
The standard meter is already equipped with an opticalinterface for communication and can be read or pro-grammed via a PC or hand-held terminal. As an optionit is possible to expand the unit with reaction-freemodules. The 2WR5 automatically detects whichmodule is plugged in. Adaptations in parameterizationare therefore not required.
20-mA module (current loop):
This module allows you to read the heat meter with ahand-held terminal or a PC via a cable up to 100 m inlength (front gate reading).
M-bus moduleUp to 250 heat meters can be connected in a networkvia a 2-wire cable using this module and read from acentral location.
Pulse moduleThis module contains either two pulse outputs that areelectrically isolated from the heat meter – one forenergy and the other for volume –, or status informa-tion, e.g. to control rolling mills, or one fast pulseoutput, e.g. to control closed-loop controllers. Withthe higher pulse rates, a distinction is made betweentypes of pulses (linear/scaled), pulse duration, and thequantity transferred.

Constant in measurement
The high resistance during measurement permitsrecalibration on a statistical basis and new service lives(> 15 years) – lowering the costs for heat measurementconsiderably. We supply the ULTRAHEAT 2WR5 for allcommon nominal flow rates from 0.6 to 60 m3/h and
the associated mounting lengths.
Europe-wide approval
The ULTRAHEAT has Europe-wide approvaland complies with the stringent EN
requirements 1434 Class 2. It thereforemakes a contribution to confidence in
heat billing and avoids the expenseof dealing with meter failures.
Easy to operate
Whatever the volumes to bemeasured – the electronics andthe measurement principle andtherefore operation are alwaysthe same. That makes for morereliable handling. It is also pos-sible to read out data or makesettings easily via a hand-heldterminal or PC. The optical in-terface is used for that purpose.The ULTRAHEAT also features
self-monitoring. It provides earlywarning if the heating water is
contaminated. Standard mountinglengths and flow rates also permit
simple replacement of old units.
Economic to run

[ Flow range
The mounting lengths correspond to the standarddimensions of vane-type meters – simple replacementis ensured. In addition to the permanent temperatureof 130 °C, an overtemperature of 150 °C is permissiblefor up to 2000 hours. Commissioning work, failures, andfast heating are therefore no problem.
Low pressure loss
The pressure loss on the ULTRAHEAT 2WR5 is muchlower than in conventional vane-type meters and isway below 200 mbar.
The heat meter can be mounted both vertically and
horizontally – filters or straight inlet and outlet sections
are not required. The straight measuring tube keeps
the pressure loss low and prevents the accumulation
of air and dirt.
The electronic unit can be mounted on the tube itself
or separately on a wall.

This module is used if the ULTRAHEAT 2WR5 is connect-ed to an M-bus system and simultaneously has to passon pulses to systems or district heating controllers forlimitation and control.

Integrated service unit
The 2WR5 features an integrated service unit – noadditional equipment is required. The extensive self-diagnostics facilitates rectification of any problemswith the unit or system.
Communication is standard
The standard meter is already equipped with an opticalinterface for communication and can be read or pro-grammed via a PC or hand-held terminal. As an optionit is possible to expand the unit with reaction-freemodules. The 2WR5 automatically detects whichmodule is plugged in. Adaptations in parameterizationare therefore not required.
20-mA module (current loop):
This module allows you to read the heat meter with ahand-held terminal or a PC via a cable up to 100 m inlength (front gate reading).
M-bus moduleUp to 250 heat meters can be connected in a networkvia a 2-wire cable using this module and read from acentral location.
Pulse moduleThis module contains either two pulse outputs that areelectrically isolated from the heat meter – one forenergy and the other for volume –, or status informa-tion, e.g. to control rolling mills, or one fast pulseoutput, e.g. to control closed-loop controllers. Withthe higher pulse rates, a distinction is made betweentypes of pulses (linear/scaled), pulse duration, and thequantity transferred.
