CRISIS MANAGEMENT CENTER (CMC)

An independent governmental body that has a status of a directorate

Main functions: - providing continuity of the inter-departmental and international cooperation, consultations and coordination of the crisis management;- preparation and updating the assessment of all risks and dangers to the security of the Republic of Macedonia;- proposing measures and activities for resolving a crisis situation, and- executing other activities pursuant to the Law The CMC shall provide the overall support (expert, organizational, administrative, etc.) of the Steering Committee and the Assessment Group.

1. Establishment of a model of crisis management system to overcome the existing organizational weaknesses,

2. Providing the necessary staff and equipment for the Crisis Management Center,

3. Capacity building of the crisis management system and developing mechanisms for interoperability in terms of early warning, prevention and handling crisis situations,

4. Implementation of the European Number – Е112 for all emergency calls, including the public alarm system in RM

5. Strengthening the training system within all entities and maintaining high level of readiness for responding to the crises,

6. Completing the process of development of Methodologies on Risk and Danger Assessment,

7. Completing the process of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for the national crisis management system,

8. Establishment of information system for processing, archiving and follow-up of information and providing support in the decision making,

9. Establishment of registry for NATO and EU classified information,

10. Regular and extraordinary exercises for monitoring and upgrading on national and international level

11. Rising public awareness for prevention and conduct in crisis situation
