Campus Sustainability Advisory Council Meetings11:00 am – 1:00 pm, Campus Police Building The UMSL Green Campus Advisory Council is an effort to involve members of the campus community, at all levels, to help realize the goals present in the UMSL Campus Sustainability Action Plan. As a “Green Team” member, you have the opportunity to provide meaningful service to UMSL, while networking across

campus and promoting and encouraging sustainable actions and attitudes. The meetings will be held on January 29, March 5, and May 7th in the Campus Police Building.

Homecoming Blood Drive10am – 3pm ,MSC Century RoomsThe annual Homecoming Blood Drive is a chance for Tritons to give back to their community. All blood donated goes to the Mississippi River Valley Regional

Blood Center (MVRBC), the exclusive provider of blood products and services to 87 hospitals in Illinois, Iowa, Missouri and Wisconsin.

Individuals and student organizations members are encouraged to participate.Students will sign in for all organizations they represent upon arrival. If you are unable to donate blood you can also donate canned goods. Five (5) canned goods are equal to one person. There will be a first, second, and third place for the organization which has the greatest number of people donate in both the RED and the GOLD category. BONUS – If a person donates both canned goods and blood they will count as two participants for their organizations.

CanstructionAll Day, MSC Fireside LoungeCANstruction is the Homecoming philanthropy event. In this competition teams will collect cans ahead of time in order to build a structure reflecting the overall Homecoming theme. After Homecoming Week, the cans will be donated to Pagedale Family Support Center. Canstruction is open to all students and student groups.

Spanish Lake12:30-2:30, MSC Century Room CSpanish Lake is a bold and uncompromising documentary focused on economic oppression in the suburb of Spanish Lake, Missouri. Operating without a local government, the lack of community leadership has disastrous effects, including a mass exodus of the white population in the late 1990’s. The themes of the film parallel America’s growing political divide, underlying racism, and the rise of anti-government sentiment. Highlighted in the film is a landmark U.S. Supreme Court case from 1971, spearheaded by then HUD Secretary George Romney, which changed the course of public housing for the nation.
