Elbit Systems’ TALOS™ is a low-cost, unattended ground radar. With a range of hundreds of meters, TALOS™ provides real-time detection and tracking of human and vehicular targets within the monitored area. To ensure accurate detection of moving targets, TALOS™ utilizes a high-resolution, state-of-the-art, digital beam-forming radar. To provide coverage over larger areas, TALOS™ can be incorporated into a networked array of radars.

Long lasting, autonomous networked operationThanks to its patented low energy consumption, the ruggedized TALOS™ is powered completely by integrated solar panels and internal backup battery, which provide all necessary power for continuous operation. Multiple TALOS™ radars can be linked in an ad-hoc and self-forming/self-healing network, enabling seamless setup with no need for operator involvement.

Integrated operating applicationThe TALOS™ software application provides the control center with a GIS-based display of the radar’s alerts, tracks and status. The application allows the user to define ‘ignore’ zones, where radar detection is not required. The application can easily be integrated with a customer’s management or C2 application.

Suitable for a range of applicationsField-proven, TALOS™ can be applied to a wide range of military and homeland security applications, including perimeter and border security, surveillance and intelligence gathering. As TALOS™ is easily deployed and has no infrastructure requirements, it is ideal for tactical tasks such as force protection. Its low cost and ease of use also make it well-suited for use in a variety of HLS applications which support the protection of national infrastructures, oil pipelines, construction sites, airports, and correctional facilities.
