Welcome Message

Let me take this opportunity to welcome you most sincerely to 1st Annual Integrated Medicine Conference (IMC) through this Conference, we hope to build and develop a new group of physicians that are interested in the idea of integration.

The core purpose of conference is to gain consensus amongst experts in different fields interested in lung diseases to optimum treatment methods. Through panel discussions, we are able to gather important data that, once analyzed and collected, is enormously useful and gives us the all important consensus we strive for. Lectures by experts from various fields, the introduction of clinical practices are scheduled to take place.

We feel this topic covers new ground and we hope the lectures, panel discussions and data gathered will provide new insight into diagnosis and treatment of different lung diseases and move us forward to the all important consensus we need. We will be most gratified if the consensus achieved at the conference leads in some small way to a better diagnosis, treatment and also quality of life (QOL) of patients having different lung diseases.

Please feel free to participate actively in all areas of the conference and remember to spare some time to explore the fine.

Today, all participants in the preparation of this conference gather together. Our gathering is just one small spark in the flame of proud that burns across our faculty today and every day. It’s not a lot, but it is one small way by which we honor our great Late Prof. Tarek Mahfouz Professor of Chest disease, Assiut University, who spent his entire life doing all his efforts to establish and develop the Chest department in Assiut University Hospitals including the first pulmonary ICU, Thoracoscope and Bronchoscope Unit which named after him, sleep medicine unit and much more has been done and a lot were in his mind, now we are taking a new step guided by his word to continue the road he had began.
