Learn more and apply for the Summer Breakthrough Lab (B-Lab). For Brown students in mid June, Summer B-Lab will provide funding and guidance to undergraduate and graduate student teams who wish to develop and launch innovative ventures. SPARK Program Two TA positions available for two courses in the residential summer biology/science program for middle school students from July 13-24, 2015. Students are immersed in a discipline of their choice, get a taste for being a scientist, and learn exploration and discovery. A lab course enrolling sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students. projects for next year as a possible Independent Study (BIOL 1960). Dr. Ian Michelow and his team use an innovative strategy to identify lead malaria vaccine candidates by screening virtually the entire falciparum malaria proteome. This work is conducted at the Center for International Health Research at RI Hospital. Students will be integrated in the research team and academic activities of the laboratory. Student will develop and take the lead on a supervised project that aligns with the goals of the lab. Project classification: vaccine immunology, malaria, and models of infection. Provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation. The intern will develop a landscape study that analyzes the intersection of human genetic analysis and accumulation of Real World Data (RWD) from electronic medical records (EMRs) that has spawned new collaborations between the healthcare (Pharma), communications and technology (Qualcomm, Google) industries. The intern will assess both the Amgen and external environment through internet research and interviews and identify key trends, drivers and barriers as well as characterize competitors, approaches and capabilities. Must be enrolled in a science-based degree program with strong written and verbal communication skills and a strong understanding of the importance of biologics in healthcare economics.
