Program Declara_on and Withdrawal All students must formally declare their entry into a teacher educa7on pathway by comple7ng the Declara7on and/or Dropping of Undergraduate Teacher Educa7on Pathway Form through the registrar’s office. Academic Requirements The minimum academic requirements to be a student in good standing in the Secondary Teacher Educa7on Pathway are as follows:

• A grade of B- or befer in all professional educa7on coursework.

• A grade of C or befer in content courses required for the area of teacher cer7fica7on.

• An overall GPA of 3.0 or befer.

Failure to maintain the above requirements may result in program dismissal. Appeals may be made in wri7ng to the Director of Educator Prepara7on.

Students are required to complete and show documenta7on of the fingerprin7ng process outlined by the Maine Department of Educa7on: hfp://www.maine.gov/doe/cert/fingerprin7ng.

Recommenda_on for Cer_fica_on Graduates who successfully complete all the Secondary Teacher Educa7on Pathway requirements are eligible for recommenda7on for teacher cer7fica7on in Maine. In order to be recommended for cer7fica7on, students must complete the Recommenda7on for Cer7fica7on form. Students who fail to meet the academic or professional requirements for the Secondary Teacher Educa7on Pathway or choose not to pursue teacher cer7fica7on may withdraw from the pathway and graduate with their major.
