The Paris Agreement’s central aim is to strengthen the global response by keeping a global temperature rise this century well below 2oC above pre-industrial levels, & to pursue efforts to limit the temperature increase even further to 1.5oC. Additionally, make finance flows consistent with a low GHG emissions & climate-resilient pathway

We are seeing impacts at the observed 1oC above pre-industrial levels today

2oC 4oC – where we are headed

A 2oC warmer world is far more “manageable” than a 4oC world –but still very different from the world we know today
