Handling conflict in the workplace
Anywhere there are groups of people working
together then there’ll also be competing ideas, values
and beliefs. And that can mean that even the most
cohesive teams can still experience conflict in the
workplace. Conflict with a work mate or colleague can simmer away over time or take you by surprise. It might start off as a difficult conversation or escalate quickly into resentment which can in turn lead to under-performance at work and a general feeling of uneasiness. It boils down to the fact that experiencing conflict in the workplace is almost inevitable. How you handle that conflict can help you build up resilience and earn the respect of your manager. We’ve pulled together five fast tips to help you manage conflict in your workplace: https://www.migas.com.au/news/how-to-handle-conflict-in-the-workplace/ Your rights at work This page from the Fair Work Ombudsman has heaps of information about your rights at work as a young person or student. Honorary Fellows of the Teachers’ Guild of New South Wales
Our suite of awards, acknowledging outstanding colleagues at various stages of their career, and our professional
development program, both designed to be accessible to real teachers who work in real classrooms, are a vital
contribution, and stand in positive contrast to the offerings of some other organisations. The Guild initiative to grant
post-nominals to all but our student members was an encouragement for us all to be proud of our membership of an
association with such a fine heritage, and one still making a valuable contribution to education.
To give further acknowledgement to outstanding members of our profession, for the last six years we launched a
category of membership available to existing members, and to new members, who meet rigorous, but simple,
criteria. Applying is simple. The first step is on-line.
Check out the attached criteria and details, and find the on-line application form, at the following link:
