Recognizing that Union is a rural town with limited options for children to enjoy “Trick or Treat” in a safe and fun arena, Vose Library will be using its parking lot for our fourth annual Trunk or Treat. Simply stated, this is a trick or treat event in one location. Treats are handed out from decorated vehicles. An internet search for Trunk or Treat will provide lots more information about this, including some really inspiring car decorations.

We will need volunteers to decorate their cars (not too scary, please!) and hand out goodies. If you have ever wished that you got a few trick or treaters and/or miss seeing children enjoying the holiday, we promise that you’ll have a great time. We will be giving a People’s Choice award to the vehicle with the most votes. We have 24 parking places available, so please sign up your vehicle no later than Wednesday, October 25 by calling the library (785-4733).

Parents: We are so excited to offer this event to you and your children. Please understand that to make this a success we need to have vehicles, so spread the word to your friends and family. Decorating a car could make a great family or group project!

Last year we had over 200 participants, so donations of candy are greatly appreciated for the cars to replenish their stock if they run out.

Cider and snacks will be served at the Library during the event.
