GeographyPhysical features - Mount Everest, Deccan

Plateau, Indus River, Ganges River, Brahmaputra River.

- Mt. Everest provides protection and deposits silt. Located in the Himalayas. - Deccan Plateau provides desert protection and flat land to farm. -Indus River provides water, protection, and fertile soil. - Ganges River provides water, protection, food, and transportation. - Brahmaputra River provides water, protection, food, and transportation.

Leaders/Important peopleIndia has something called the caste system. At the top you

have Brahmins, the Kshatriya, then Vashiya , then the Shudra.

Impact of person… - Brahmins are the priests and scholars. They are they

ones with very high education. - Kshatriyas are the warriors, rulers and landowners. Those

are the people who fight in wars and or own land. - Vashiya are the merchants. Those are the people who

buy, sell, and trade goods. - Shudra are your artists and agriculturists. Those are the

poor people who get paid to do labor work. - Below all of them are untouchables. They don’t take part.

They are outsiders.

Gandhi – Gandhi practiced non-violence. He didn’t fight but he used his words to make compromises.

Chandragupta Mayria – He started an empire that lasted about 150 years. Raised an army of about 600,000 soldiers. Spread Hinduism around Empire. Gained control of Ganges River valley.

Asoka – Strong Warrior. Practiced Buddhism. Built Roads in Empire.

Contributions of Civilization All of the achievements was achieved

during the Golden Age. This is the highest peak of India.

Art was achieved.Mathematics was achieved.Astronomy was achieved.Science was achieved.Peace and prosperity was achieved. Inoculation was achieved.

Conflict They weren’t battling anyone during this time period. They were kept hidden in the Indus valley. The Himalayas also provided protection and kept them hidden.

Ancient India did face flooding. The major thing they faced was monsoons. A monsoon is seasonal wind pattern that causes wet and dry seasons.
