Unit 17 multimedia task 2
Purpose of a linear product
User requirements
The requirements for this task is to make a linear product that will have an embedded short video interview about 2-3 minutes long talking about the issues of the Amazon Rainforest that the charity is concerned about. This product will include a PowerPoint that should include multiple facts and good reliable information about the Amazon Rainforest. The Presentation of the product is to educate the students and teachers of key stage 4 about the problems associated with the loss of the rainforest. The product is going to be aimed at key stage 4 students and teachers. The tools that will be included in this are going to be PowerPoint to present information in a formal fun manner. The tool used to make the video clip will also be a camera or phone of some sort to record myself presenting information. The solution to stop this could be to increase the funding for government protection of the forest and replanting trees so that we do not run out of trees and we are not killing animal’s honest. Education systems should also educate the students on why we need rainforests and how the Amazon Rainforest plays a big role in keeping the climate stable like storing carbon dioxide and then producing oxygen for us to have. In the last 50 years 17% of the forest has been lost mostly due to forest conversion for cattle ranching which is also another big problem.
My speech
Hello, my name is Tynen Roxborough today I am going to be talking about the environmental issues of the rainforest and what we should do to stop these issues. Logging is one of the biggest issues when talking about environmental issues regarding to the amazon rainforest. Since 1970 over 600,00 square kilometres of the rainforest has been destroyed because companies and establishments need the wood for furniture, building materials and charcoal to sell to consumers and buyers.

Justifications and design
I have made a self-running presentation that includes information about the Amazon Rainforest. The information will include topics such as endangered animals, deforestation of trees, native tribes and some interesting and basic facts about the rainforest itself. The presentation has easy accessibility such as reading the text, it is easy to read and understand what it is saying. The contrast between colours are good they are not eye soring to people. The colours included in the presentation do go along with the theme which is the amazon rainforest and the presentation has lots of green and
bright colours. The images that are included into this presentation are easily seen the quality is high. The video I will be including into this presentation will be high quality with high quality sound for people to hear properly. The constraints I have had to take into account when making the presentation were things such as not including copyrighted images or videos that could put me at risk of being accused of plagiarism, another constraint that was a big issue was the time because if I didn’t complete it on time I could fail. The colours had to contrast well together so that it is easily understood and seen. a big concern was religion I had to make sure it couldn’t offend anyone apart of any religion and I had to make sure I was using the correct language and not slang so people could easily understand what the presentation was talking about.
The design change
I have made some changes to the PowerPoint presentation, I have changed the design of the PowerPoint because it’s really bright to the eye and the colour does not go along with what the presentation is talking about which is the Amazon Rainforest. I have also changed the font because it is not easy to read or understand. I have also changed the layout of how the images will be presented because before it was all over the place and over lapping each other. Some of the images were too big and some were too small.
My poor design I chose not to use

My interactive game design
Hierarchy chart of content
User requirements
The requirements for this task is to make an interactive product that should target the audience of key stage 2 students. The purpose of the product is to make a maze game that includes 3 levels for all user to be able to play on including key stage 2 students. The game should target the audience of key stage 2 students and it should be age appropriate and suitable for them, so it should not include inappropriate language or images that might be unsuitable for them to view. The tools I will use to produce this game are PowerPoint, word and G Developer this is to design the game get images I want and to code it. This game should be played on laptop and pc with minimal specs. I will use Photoshop to make my images.

Colour- the colours grey and white and black contrast good with each other and is not an eye sore.
Religious beliefs- is there anything that might or could offend any religious beliefs.
Language- use the correct and appropriate language that is understandable and makes complete sense to the audience.
Skills- someone might not have the skills to use a certain program or what the program might include when making the game or accessing the game to play.
Target audience
The target audience of who this game is supposed to appeal to and attract is key stage 2 students. I have done, this by making it a semi scary game so that if the student fails a certain amount of times a scary face will pop up saying you have lost or something along the lines of this. This is so that it is more of a challenge to win and succeed rather than failing, not really trying as much as you can to win. I have not made it too scary because I don’t want to scare the students too much, I want them to enjoy and have fun playing. I have also included different levels so that if you pass the first level the second one is going to be much harder to complete, but not impossible for the students. I have also made a feedback button so that the students can leave me feedback on what I need to improve or how I could improve the game for their better experience. This game is easily accessible by opening it up on your browser and playing, you don’t have to sign in or register to play like other websites and games it is quick and easy to play with friends.
Justification for the design
I have made a design for my maze game called “a bad game”. The background colour of my game is grey and softly coated with white on it. I have buttons included into my game. The text font is Aharoni and the size of it is 72. I have made a menu for the game that includes a play game button instructions button level button and a feedback button. I have made three levels for my game that gradually get harder the higher the level you go. I have called it a bad game because it’s really a good game and no one would expect that and they would be surprised, it’s also a scary game for the younger audience which adds a bit of adrenaline and rush to you when playing if you don’t complete the maze. I have made the background colour grey and white because it is not too dark and boring and it is not an eyesore with bright vibrant colours, also it would not make sense for it to be colourful and vibrant because it is a scary maze game. I have made the text font Aharoni because it reminds me of old school game text like on Mario. I have made the text size 72 so that it is easy to read and clear to see. I have made three levels so that the game does not get boring just playing the same constant level repeatedly and so that it is challenging to users who play because it gets harder. I have made a feedback button so that users who play the game can tell me about what I should improve and how to do that. I have made an instructions button so that new users to the game know how to play and are not stuck struggling on how to play.
How I have met the needs of the target audience
Accessibility issues-
This is the design I have picked for my game
The text size of the title: 72 which is the size used for all titles in the game
The font of the title: aharoni which is the font used for all text in the game
The images used in this slide:
The normal text size: 60 this is the same text size for the rest of the game (normal size)
The normal font: aharoni which is the same font used for all of the text in the game
The text size of the title: 44
The font of the title: aharoni
The images used in this slide: 4 they are picture of blood because it is a scary map so adding blood makes it even more intense when playing.
The images used in this slide: 5
The images used in this slide: 7
The white area is the safe zone where you are supposed to stay in and no leave.
If you leave the white area and proceed into the grey area you will die and have to restart the whole course of levels again
If you fail 3 times on this level in a row this face will pop up when you fail the fourth time and will scream and shake your screen to frighten and scary you.
The blue is the start where you start your level. The red is the ending when you complete the level.
This is the old design that I am not using no longer because it is bad
The text size of the title: 60
The normal text size: 26
Why I changed designs on my maze game
I have made some changes to maze game design because I was not happy with the first design which was the green big text design. I changed from the green colourful vibrant colour to a semi dark grey with a bit of white so that it links more to the theme of being a scary game rather than it is seeming like a jungle maze game or along the lines of a happy game to play. I have also changed the text font to aharoni because the first font was too big bold and not the easiest to read for some people also the aharoni text font reminds me of like old school classic font on games. I have also added a credit ending to the design because I want the target audience to know who designed, coded and created the game itself.
