Dimensions of Parental Behavior

• Warmth – At one end of the spectrum, parents are openly affectionate, and involved with their kids. On the other end of the spectrum, parents are uninvolved and sometimes hostile. These parents seem focused on their own needs and interests .

Dimensions of Parental Behavior

• Control – At one end of the spectrum are dictatorial parents, who try to control every step of their child’s life, like a puppeteer. On the other end of the spectrum are parents who do not try to control their children and put little effort into it.

(he didn’t know you saw him) An hour later, you approach your son and ask him if he knew what happened to the $10 bill that you had in your wallet. He said he did not know anything about it.
