Acute angle
• An angle that is less than 90 degrees.
Adjacent angles
• Two angles that share a side and vertex but don’t overlap each other.
Axis
• An imaginary straight line that goes through any symmetrical shape.
Bisecting an angle
• Dividing an angle in 2 equal parts.
Concentric circles
• Circles that have their centers in the same place.
(All of the pictures found are the same.)
Congruent figures
• Figures that have the same size and shape.
Consecutive angles
• Two angles of a polygon that have a common side.
Corresponding angles or sides
• A relative side of two sides. (Same as two figures)
(All of the pictures found are the same.)
Inscribed
Isometry
• A transformation of a original figure and its image are congruent.
Line of reflection
• A line that is reflected over in a reflection.
Mid point
The halfway point of a line segment.
Obtuse angle
• An angle that is more than 90 degrees and less than 180 degrees.
Ordered number pair
• Two numbers written in a certain order.
Parallel line
• A line segment that is evenly spaced.
Perpendicular
• At right angles.
Perpendicular bisector
• A line that cuts a line segment in two parts at 90 degrees.
Preimage
• f is a function from domain X to codomain Y. The smaller oval inside Y is the image of f.
Reflection
• The throwing back by the surface of light.
Reflex angle
• More than 180 degrees but less than 360 degrees.
Right angle
• Exactly 90 degrees.
Rotation
• A circular motion around a point.
Sector
• A pie shaped part of a circle.
Straight angle
• Exactly 180 degrees
Supplementary angles
• The two angles of 140 degrees and 40 degrees.
Transformation
• A dramatic change in apperence.
Translation
• Every point is a constant distance.
Transversal
• A line that passes through two lines in the same plane at different points.
Vertex
• A point that describes the corners or intersections of geometric shapes.
Vertical angles
• An angles opposite each other when two lines cross.
