PYP Attitudes: What attitudes do we want to foster?Empathy: When dealing with personal conflict we need to stand in the shoes of the other person and understand how they are feeling. Independence: When attempting to resolve personal conflict we need to consider possible strategies and make our own decisions about which to use so the outcome is positive.

Learner Profile AttitudesReflective: Students will have many opportunities to reflect on how often personal conflict arises because their values are different to another persons and how they manage conflict, allowing them to explore alternative strategies.

Open-minded: Students will have the opportunity to challenge their thinking by viewing different perspectives and choosing appropriate conflict resolutions.

Concepts Causation: •Understanding that differences in values can cause conflict•Understanding that the way personal conflicts are managed

can affect relationshipsReflection: Thinking about their values and the values of others; how situations of conflict have occurred because of differences in values; how the conflict was managed; how it could have been managed better as a way of improving relationships in the future.
