Marvalley Architects had a meeting with Mr. Reynaldo

Montoya, owner of 12 Lamuan Shell Stations from

Marikina to Rodriguez, Rizal last July 29, 2018.

The purpose of the meeting was to ask permission for

Marvalley to post ads/tarps for their “Get an Architect”

in all of Mr. Montoya’s owned Shell Stations in support

to the UAP National’s advocacy and in celebration of the

forthcoming Marvalley Chapter’s 33rd Anniversary and

Motorcade this September 2018.

Those who attended the meeting and made an ocular

inspection on 12 shell stations were: Ar. Romeo

Miramonte, Ar. Roger & Carol Victorino, Mr. Reynaldo

Montoya, Engr. Roman Villame, Ar. Lorie Villame, Ar.

Juan Miguel David and Ar. Rodel Vargas. Also

participated by Ar. Mary Rose Millan, Ar. Raymond

Munar, Ar. Chill Medenilla and Ar. Rhaine Biglang-awa

Title of Activity 2nd General Membership Meeting Date August 06, 2018

Objective of the Activity To attend seminars which will help us gain knowledge on the profession and support District A5 projects .

Marvalley Architects 2nd General Membership Meeting was held last August 6, 2018 at Industriya in

Marikina City. In line with Marvalley’s theme for this fiscal year, “Leadership Excellence by Architects

through Dedicated Services”, the first topic discussed at the GMM was “LEADING BY EXAMPLE” by their

very inspiring guest speaker, Mr. Reynaldo “Jojo” Larga Recio Jr.

The meeting was well attended by a total of 108 pax (78 active members, 13 new members, 17 guest and

sponsors). Thanks to our Sponsors that night, Robinsons Builders and Architecks Metal system Inc. During

the Business proper, our chapter president Ar. Lorie Villame discussed the upcoming activities of the

chapter for the month of August, September and October 2018. Chairman of different committees also

discussed their assigned projects/activities.

Title of Activity 2nd Special Board Meeting for Anniversary Date August 11, 2018

Objective of the Activity To finalized program flow of the upcoming 33rd Chapter Anniversary and other matters about the chapter.

The meeting was held at Marita

Restaurant in Marikina City on August

11, 2018.

One of the main agenda for the meeting

is the upcoming chapter’s anniversary.

Ar. Tina Bautista, as the chairman, lead,

discussed and delegated works to be

done to all officers and members of the

committee. 7 members of the Board of

officers who attended were: Ar.

Franklin Bautista, PP Ar. Tina Bautista,

Jasmin Lee, Ar. Carol Victorino, Ar.

Rhaine Biglang-awa, Ar. Lorie Villame,

IPP Grace Ann Tamesis, and Ar.

Raymond Munar

Another reason for the meeting was the

Adopt a Library and 8th Year Book

Donation Project of Marvalley Chapter

which was held last August 17, 2018 at

Malanday Elementary School in

Marikina City.

The weather was so bad that day. Hard

rain had flooded most of the streets in

Marikina in the afternoon. So, most of

the roads in Marikina was already not

passable to all motorists due to floods.

It had caused a terrible traffic not just in

Marikina but to all adjacent towns and

cities. Most of the officers and

members of Marvalley who attended

the meeting were either stranded from

where they held the meeting, while

some spent the whole night on the road

trying to get home.

August 12, 2018, Our Chapter president Ar.

Lorie Villame, took the initiative of going to

Marikina Rotary Club to help in the relief

operation after she herself experiences to

be stranded outside the other night

because of flooded streets. She helped in

the packing and distribution of relief goods

on different evacuation centers together

with the Rotarians of Marikina. And after

that, she felt that Architects must do their

part too in helping the flood victims and

decided to make an announcement and

call the attention of the UAP for help.

Announcement was made on FB Post!

“We are inviting all UAP Chapters to

participate in our “Arki-Helps Project” for

the flood victims in Marikina City to join us

on August 13, 2018 (Monday) for a relief

activity at Marikina Rotary Youth Center in

Marikina beside Amang Rodriguez Hospital

in front of Marikina Sports Center.”

It was the start of the of the one big task

for the chapter….

The day came August 13, 2018 after

the announcement was made. The

Board of Officers of Marikina Valley

Chapter headed by our chapter

president Ar. Lorie Villame gathered to

help in packing of donated goods.

Chapter funds was released to buy

more relief goods. Then came the help

from other UAP chapters who

responded to Marvalley’s call.

We are very thankful to all chapters

who responded to our announcement

and supported our endeavor

especially to San Juan Mandaluyong

Chapter, Manila Metro, Rizal Taytay,

Rizal Kalayaaan, Sta. Mesa, Greenhills,

San Juan Pinaglabanan, Quezon

Province, Quezon City Capitol, and

South California. Truly, Architects have

a kind heart too.

Thanks to all Architects, teachers and principal of Malanday Elementary School and Boysen Paint who supported our 8th Year Book Donation Project. Special thanks to ICS Book Publishing Co. for donating about 2,000 plus brand-new books from K1-k12! We were able to collect about 2,800 brand new and old books today. Marvalley Architects were also able to donate 2 bookshelves (back to back) to Malanday Elem. School Library.

August 17, 2018 11 am/ Barangay Tumana, Marikina

After the Book Donation, The Marvalley Architects

came back for the 3rd wave of relief operation. This

time the target place was the ground zero at Brgy.

Tumana, Marikina City. Marvalley gave “Banig at

Kumot” . A total of 125 pack of relief goods were given

to the residents of Tumana. This was in cooperation

with their Barangay Captain Siffried Ancheta and his

Pook Leaders.

The relief goods and donations were brought to each

household preventing the long line and to secure the

goods as well.

Calumpang, Marikina City

After the 3rd wave relief

operation, some of the officers of

Marvalley Chapter proceeded

with their 3rd activity for that day,

a meeting with the owner of a

possible heritage building in

Calumpang, Marikina City .

This is in line with Marvalley’s

proposed project of Heritage

Mapping which is essential for

them so they can proceed with

the part 2 of Heritage Mapping

Seminar. They met with, Ms.

Elenita Cruz and her mother, who

owns a beautiful ancestral home

in Calumpang to discussed the

details and history of the house.

Also, to check if the house is

possible to be included as one of

heritage sites in Marikina and

convert it into a Cultural Hub/

Seminar venue and an Art exhibit

building.

Heritage Mapping is essential to

preserve history and culture and

also to gain more tourist to

promote Marikina City.

A Special board meeting was held last

August 21, 2018 at Sambokojin

Restaurant, Eastwood, Quezon City. It

started at 6Pm and was attended by the

Marvalley officers starting from CP Ar.

Lorie Villame, VPP Ar. Rhaine Biglang-awa,

VPO Ar. Jasmin Lee, Chapter Sec. Ar. Carol

Victorino, Treasurer Ar. Jill Medenilla,

Auditor Ar. Rodel Vargas and the board of

directors: Ar. Frank Bautista, Ar. Romy

Miramonte, Ar. Mary Rose Millan, and Ar.

Raymond Munar. The cahirman of the

Anniversary, PP Ar. Tina Bautista was also

present.

Chairman of each committee assigned

discussed the plans and programs for

their upcoming projects/activities such as

the Chapter’s Anniversary Celebration (by

Ar. Tina Bautista), Campaign & Motorcade

Events (Ar. Rose Millan), Marvallympics

(by Ar. Romy Miramonte), and CPD

Seminars (by Ar. Jasmin Lee). The

Chapter’s Treasurer, Ar. Jill Medenilla, also

reported the Chapter’s finances that night.

The meeting was thru the courtesy of

Chapter President, Ar. Lorie Villame and

was adjourned at 10 o’ clock in the

evening.
