Thanks to state-of-the-art technologies developed using our OE know-how, HELLA work lights withstand the most difficult of

environmental conditions. Especially its sophisticated thermal management and the lamps' corrosion resistance ensure a very long

service life. After all, only when the heat can be optimally dissipated from the high-power LED headlamps can high-power

illumination performance take place unhindered. Thanks to corrosion-resistant headlamps due to special coatings or plastic

CoroSafe/NanoSafe

New process to combat corrosion in aluminium housings

With its new coating processes against corrosion, HELLA is once again

setting standards in work light durability and toughness of aluminium

housings. Two additionally implemented layers of surface coating on the

work lights greatly improve their durability. The sophisticated combination

of different coating methods ensures a high level of corrosion resistance

and improved protection against damage to the work lights. This means

that the housing is well-protected and ideal for use in harsh environments

with large amounts of salt and water. CoroSafe is used primarily in

HELLA LED reversing lights. When using the NanoSafe coating for special

applications, such as mines, an additional coating is added. It protects

against corrosion under particularly harsh conditions.

Compact Series

Corrosion-free and light plastic housings.

The innovative plastic housing of the Compact series boasts similar

thermal conductivity properties to aluminium. This means that the

LEDs can operate using the full power supply, even at high ambient

temperatures. Thanks to the innovative plastic material of the housing,

corrosion is averted and a long service life guaranteed. The Compact

series additionally impresses with its considerably reduced weight and

improved vibration characteristics.

ZEROGLARE-technology for glare-free illumination

In order to expand the same safety and comfort from the automotive area

to other target groups, HELLA has developed a new optical system for

work lights. The ZEROGLARE system ensures that drivers of oncoming

vehicles are not glared. Unlike the usual LED work lights, the light/dark

cut-off line appears very sharp here and the light of the ZEROGLARE

headlamps is directed specifically onto the area in front of the vehicle.

Various series with this technology are already available.

HELLA solutions for more safety and comfort during the

daily work routine

Vehicle lighting plays an important role when it is a question of safety and a convenient working environment. Especially when it

comes to workplace safety, there still are many situations that are in need of improvement. It is for example important that danger

zones can be optically marked out or marked off whenever such a need arises so that everyone in the affected area can be warned

and protected in good time. Until, now, this had to be done by the driver or by other workers who would manually mark off the

concerned areas. This meant that it was not possible to demarcate individual sectors as required in a simple, swift and safe action.

With its VISIOTECH projection technology, HELLA has introduced products on the market, which can remedy exactly such situations.

Oncoming traffic should however not only be warned or made aware but also experience as little glaring as possible so that

accidents due to glaring and poor visibility can be avoided. This is why HELLA has developed the glare-free ZEROGLARE

illumination that does not glare oncoming traffic.

VISIOTECH technology – communicating with light

The new VISIOTECH projection technology from HELLA provides you with

a means of communicating with light. This technology uses light to project

various symbols and types of illumination onto the ground.

This application serves to warn other vehicles or pedestrians of an

oncoming vehicle. The lines projected in front of a vehicle can, however,

also be used as a means for simpler vehicle navigation. Projecting

symbols can also easily and safely mark work areas. The result is more

safety, comfort and convenience during the daily work routine.

The application of VISIOTECH technology products is approved for

applications outside the StVZO. For special applications

on the road, special permits are required.

Modul 70 LED – hand-held searchlight with handle and switch

With this variant of the Modul 70 LED series, HELLA introduces on the market a compact, handheld searchlight boasting a very powerful light output. The handheld searchlight can be used flexibly thanks to the very practical handle. In addition to a switch for continuous operation, the handle also has a touch switch for short-term operation also enabling Morse code. Thanks to its low energy consumption, the Modul 70 handheld searchlights are ideal for use in battery-powered vehicles. The multivolt electronics of the headlamps enable the use in vehicles with 12 and 24 volts of vehicle electric system voltage. Thanks to CoroSafe technology, the Modul 70 LED handheld searchlights are optimally protected against corrosion. For the SL60 warning light, a special lens optic allows the light rays to converge so much that and a strip-shaped warning line is

projected onto the ground. Depending on the type of mounting, the warning line can be projected in front of the vehicle either

horizontally or vertically. This application serves to warn other vehicles or pedestrians of an oncoming vehicle. The lines projected in

front of a vehicle can, however, also be used as a means of simpler vehicle navigation.

But in both instances, occupational safety and also comfort and convenience are significantly ramped up and consequently

accidents are prevented from the outset.

Models of the SL60 LED warning light are available either with a red projection line or with a blue one, options which make it

suitable for the most diverse kinds of applications and target groups.

Application examples

The Modul 50 LED spot warning light projects a circular warning point on the ground. Once again, a special lens optic bundles the

LED light so much that a circular warning spot is projected onto the ground. This application is suitable for a wide variety of areas

(e.g. forklifts). Thanks to its compact dimensions, the Modul 50 LED spot is particularly well-suited when little space is available for

installation. These headlamps are used especially as warning lights to visually warn other vehicles or pedestrians about an

oncoming vehicle. But it can also be used for optically marking certain areas. The Modul 50 LED spot warning light is available in

the colours blue, green, red, and white.

Using the SL60 LED and Modul 50 LED spot warning light is permitted for applications outside the StVZO. For special applications

on the road, special permits are required.

ROTA LED COMPACT

The RotaLED Compact is the LED successor to the existing Rotafix, Rotaflex and Rota Compact halogen beacon series. These can be replaced 1:1. No moving parts are required for the LED functions – so no wear and maximum reliability. Since LEDs are maintenance-free, they do not cause any additional costs for spare parts or maintenance. Downtimes are reduced to a minimum. The beacon is available in three different mounting versions. K�LED 1.2

The K-LED 1.2 is an innovative expansion to the K-LED family. It is available in rotating and flashing versions. The dual lighting system in the K-LED 1.2 produces a larger light exit area, making it especially effective at providing a warning function. And the K-LED 1.2 needs no moving parts – replacement of wearing parts is unnecessary. As a result, the beacon features a long service life. The shock-resistant dome made of polycarbonate guarantees particularly reliable protection against impacts (e.g. from branches). Wireless signals are not disrupted by the K-LED 1.2 because it has a high resistance to electromagnetic interference and therefore EMC.

For vehicles that are registered in accordance with ECE-R48, series 06, the failure monitor is no longer mandatory.

A 3A fuse from HELLA is required for all LED headlamps. A fuse of > 3A is not sufficient to safely interrupt the power supply in the event of a fault. If the degree of protection is unknown, an external safety switch (e.g. 8JD 743 557-021) must also always be used. If water gets in, incorrect protection can lead to damage ranging from melting to burning of the product.

Pulse generator: Malfunctions of the high beam with direction indicator module can usually be detected with the vehicle control unit. The detection stages are as follows: DI: < 400 mA; HB: < 800 mA. If your control unit cannot detect stage < 400 mA for DI, the pulse generator will increase the amperage in an interval of 100 to 120 ms to simulate the level consistent with a standard 12 volts (21 watts) bulb.

HELLA WIRING SYSTEMS –

ALWAYS WELL CONNECTED.

The EasyConn connector system is made up of

2, 7, and 15-pin connector housings and female

connector housings. For even easier mounting

on trailers, their diameter has been drastically

reduced. SUPERSEAL and 7-pin DIN bayonet plug

connectors can be used to expand the system.

This allows you to combine lighting systems

flexibly and retrofit or convert them, especially in

trailers.

The 15-pin front, central and rear main cables

in the wiring are still treated as a constituent

part of the tried-and-tested EasyConn system.

The wiring system makes it quick and easy to

connect new products to various systems that

are already present.
