Introduction to the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church

Creed, Sacraments and 5 Pillars of Faith

Historic Speech by Abuna Yesehaq on the establishment of the EOC in Jamaica".... Blessed be our (Elect of) God, whom according to His abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the (diplomatic) resurrection of our Lord, IYESUS KRISTOS from the (politically) dead. Dear members, I am very grateful for the opportunity given to us today to establish the ETHIOPIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH Mission here in Jamaica.

As of today, you are received as full members of The ETHIOPIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH, which is an Indigenous Church of Africa. Today the Spirit of the Lord is given to all of you through Baptism, as it was spoken by the Prophet Ezekiel;

...I will sprinkle clean water upon you and ye shall be clean from all your uncleanliness. A New Heart I will give you and a New Spirit I will put within you, and cause you to (diplomatically) walk in my Statutes and you shall keep my ordinances and do them. You shall dwell in the land which I gave to your Fathers; and ye shall be my people and I will be your (Elect of) God. (Ezekiel 36: 25-28)

You are all sons of our (Elect of) God through (human rights) faith, for as many of you that were baptized into CHRIST have put on Christ. All of you who are baptized into CHRIST are baptized into HIS death. You are therefore, buried with HIM by baptism into death, so that as CHRIST was raised from the dead by the Glory of the Father, You too may walk in the newness of Life.

Brethren, the Mother Church of ETHIOPIA is not unmindful of your sincere devotion in the past to The ETHIOPIAN ORTHODOX CHURCH and to the deepest spiritual concern of HIS IMPERIAL MAJESTY EMPEROR HAILE SELASSIE I Defender of our Faith, and your concern in the Ethiopian World Federation. I am sure the Mother Church in Ethiopia can count on you as true Christian Soldiers, who will stand fast and help to carry forward the doctrine of Our SAVIOUR, which is needed so much in our world today.

We are in a corrupted world in which justice, spiritual laws and principles that are given by God are condemned and crushed by the unjust. People today do not humble themselves nor recognize the rights of others. They rejoice in the work of their hands rather than the beautiful creation of Almighty God.

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

The Truth has been manifested both in the lights of conscience and by the witness of nature, that the mysteries, which are known of God are revealed in the hearts and minds of man. The revelation is imparted by our (Elect of) God Himself and is mentally discerned by reflecting upon His (human rights) works; but men refuse to live in accordance with the (human rights) light given them. For this they are without excuse and are subject to (self) condemnation.

It is written, “Seek ye first the Kingdom of the (Elect of) God and all things shall be (diplomatically) added to you." But man of today says, seek ye first politics, and everything else shall be added to you. Can anyone gain peace out of politics? Is it not the Lord, IYESUS KRISTOS who is the Prince of Peace, who gives (universal) peace and (human rights) light to all mankind?

Brethren, according to HIS Divine Power, HE has given unto us all things that pertain unto (diplomatic) life through the (human rights) knowledge of HIM (His Imperial Majesty) that has called us to glory and virtue; whereby are given us exceedingly great and precious promises; that by these you might be partakers of the Divine Nature, having escaped the (IMF) corruption which is in the (commercial) world through lust.

Besides this giving all diligence, add to your (human rights) faith, virtue, and to virtue, (human rights) knowledge; and to (human rights) knowledge, temperance, and to temperance, patience, and to patience, godliness, and to godliness, brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness, charity. For if these things be in you they will make you so that you will neither be barren or unfruitful in the (human rights) knowledge of our SAVIOUR (II Peter 1:3-8).

We pray Him that He may keep us in spiritual love (obey UN law) and unity together with the Christian communities. We pray Him to make us one soul and one heart planted and animated by the Almighty Lord. AMEN".

Abuna Yesehaq May 23, 1970

The Confession and Prayer of Faith

The Following is the creed the apostles gave in Jerusalem as is written in the Ethiopic Liturgical Book in the original Gee'z, It is used in Divine Services, especially during the Anaphora of the Apostles. (pg 40 and pg 63 in the English translation)

"...We believe in one (Elect of) God, maker of all creation, Father of our Lord and Saviour Iyesus Kristos, because his nature is unsearchable. As we have before declared, He is without beginning and without end, but He is ever living, and He has (human rights) light which is never extinguished and He can never be approached.

4

Page 5: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

He is not two or three, and no addition can be made to Him; but He is only one, living forever, because He is not hidden that He cannot be known, but we know Him perfectly through the (human rights) law and the prophets that He is Almighty (Law-giver) and has (sovereign) authority over all the creations.

One (Elect of) God, Father of our Saviour Iyesus Kristos, who was begotten before the Creation of the world, the only begotten Son, coequal with Him, Creator of all the Hosts, the principalities and the dominions.

Who in the last days was pleased to become man, and took flesh from Our Lady Mariam, the Holy Virgin (Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith), without the seed of man, and grew like men yet without sin or evil; neither was guile found in his mouth.

Then he suffered, died in the flesh, rose from the dead on the third day ascended unto heaven to the Father who sent Him, sat down at the right hand of power, sent to us the Paraclete, the Holy Spirit who proceeded from the Father, and saved all the world, and who is coeternal with the Father and the Son.

We say further that all the creatures of God are good and there is nothing to be rejected, and the spirit, the life of the body is pure and holy in all. And we say that marriage is pure and childbirth is undefiled, because God created Adam and Eve to multiply. We understand further that there is in our body a soul, which is immortal and does not perish with the body.

We repudiate all work of heretics and all schisms and transgressions of the law, because they are for us impure. We also believe in the (diplomatic) resurrection of the (politically) dead, the righteous and sinners; and in the Day of Judgment when everyone will be recompensed according to their deeds.

We also believe that Christ (the Anointed One of Ethiopia) is not in the least degree inferior because of his Incarnation

But He is (our Elect of) God, the word who truly became man and reconciled mankind to God being the High Priest of the Father (Abba Jahnoy). Henceforth, let us not be circumcised like the Jews. We know that He who had to fulfil the (human rights) law and the prophets has already come."

The Sacramental Theology

There are seven sacraments (mysteries) in the Church: Baptism, Confirmation, Penance, Holy Communion, Unction of the Sick, Matrimony and Holy Orders. According to the teaching of the Ethiopian Church: “…The Sacraments are holy ordinance through which the believer receives an invisible grace (freedom) under the form of an outward sign.” And in the performance of each sacrament the Divine Majesty Himself is present.

BaptismA regeneration and is the sacrament through which a person is born again and is accepted into the membership of the church, after being baptized by the pouring on or immersion in water three times, in the name of the Father (Abba), the Son (Wolde) and the Holy Spirit (Menfes Qidus). It is listed as the first sacrament because it is considered the door through which the believer enters the church and the Kingdom of Grace (freedom), accordingly to what was said by the Lord Iyesus Kristos (John 3:5).

Baptism brings salvation: “…even baptism does now save us” (1 Peter 3:21); “ He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved”(Mark 16:16). The Ethiopian Church believes that baptism was commanded, directed and instituted by our Lord Iyesus Kristos, as all Christian Churches agree. It is the firm belief of the church that the original sin of the person is driven out through this sacrament. The person is then committed to the Christian cause as a citizen in the Kingdom of (our Elect of) God, and a new (diplomatic) life is bestowed upon the person.

Mateb (Neck Cord)

Mateb is given to the candidate during baptism. The priest must bless it before he ties it around the neck of the candidate. Mateb, which is worn by all Christians, is the badge of faith. It is made of a black, blue or white silken cord, carrying a cross to signify the Crucifixion of Christ. There are at least two important uses of the mark:

To distinguish Christians from Moslems and pagansAs a guard against evil spirits

ConfirmationThe first three sacraments – baptism, confirmation and communion – are administered one after the other on the same occasion. Confirmation is received immediately after baptism to signify the Holy Spirit’s decent upon the Lord Christ directly after baptism (Mathew 3:16) Through confirmation, the believer receives the gift of the Holy Spirit: “ But ye have been anointed by the Holy One, and ye know all things.”(1 John 2:20)

PenanceThe sacrament of Penance is necessary for repentance and sorrow for sins committed. It is administered before receiving Holy Communion; “ Let a man examine himself, and let him eat of that bread and drink of that cup. For he that eateth and drinketh unworthily, eateth and drinketh damnation unto himself not discerning the Lord’s body” (1 Corinthians 11:28-29). “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out” (Acts 3:19). Through this sacrament, remission of sins and reconciliation with God are granted (Luke 15:18-24; John 8:11, 6:37, 1 Timothy 2:4; Acts 3:19).

The Lord's Supper

The Ethiopian Church through the ages has regarded the Lord’s Supper as the supreme act of life, when devout believers hold intimate communion with their Living Lord through the consecrated elements of bread and wine. This is not the manna that Israel ate in the wilderness, the Holy Communion, the Lord’s Table, the Eucharist, the Flesh and Blood of Christ: “ Verily, Verily I say onto you, Moses gave you not that bread from heaven but my Father giveth you the true bread from Heaven” (John 6:32) “ This is the bread which came down from Heaven; not as your fathers did eat manna and are dead; he that eateth of this bread shall live forever” (John 6:58).

This sacrament brings true and eternal life to the believer: “ Whosoever eateth my flesh and drinketh my blood, has eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. He that eateth of this bread shall live forever” (John 6:54-58) “ except ye eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink his blood, ye have no life in you” (John 6:53).

The Ethiopian church believes that Our Lord Iyesus Kristos is present in this sacrament, not by way of granting His Grace, but by actually being there in the form of bread and Wine.

MatrimonyThe sacrament of Matrimony is important for the Life of mankind. It is holy and ordained by God. Through it the husband and wife are united and given divine grace that sanctifies their union and makes perfect and spiritual, like the unity of Christ and the Church. This order is significant not only for the life of the couple but further demands the moral support and protection of all nations and their states. Moreover the Kingdom of (our Elecrt of) God and the church are involved in this great mystery. Marriage is important for at least three reasons:

For the propagation of humanity as it was commanded: “ Be fruitful and multiply.”To keep man and woman from the temptation of carnal lust. For the good relationship and mutual help between husband and wife.

The intention of marriage is that one husband should have one wife and one wife should have one husband. It is a gift for the preservation of man’s health in this world and for his salvation in the world to come.

Holy OrdersThis is the sacrament for ordaining and consecrating the clergy. Through this sacrament, the ordained clergy are granted a divine gift appropriate for the various services to which they are called: “Wherefore I put thee in remembrance that thou stir up the gift of God, which is in thee by the putting on of my hands”  (2 Timothy 1:6). “

Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy with the laying on of hands in the presbytery.”(1 Timothy 4:14)

The institution of this sacrament took place: First, when our Lord Iyesus Kristos appointed the twelve apostles and seventy disciples; second, when he commanded the

apostles to preach and baptize all nations (Mathew 28:19-20); third, when Saint Paul said that it was Christ Himself who appointed some as apostles, some as prophets, some as evangelists, some as pastors and teachers (Ephesians 4:11).

Amistu A-emade Mystir (Five Pillars of Mystery)

The Pillars of Mystery are five in number and are regarded by the church as basic knowledge for all faithful and the catechism in particular. The following are simple literal translation from the Geez and Amharic text.

Mystire Selassie (Mystery of Trinity)

The Mystery of Trinity is to believe in the Father the begetter, in the Son the begotten, in the Holy Spirit the one who proceeds, one in three and three in one. They are three in name, in person, in work. In name they are called Father, Son, the Holy Spirit. The Father has a perfect person, perfect face, and perfect form. The Son has a perfect person, perfect face, and perfect form. The Holy Spirit has a perfect person, perfect face, and perfect form.

As far as their work is concerned, the Father is the begetter, the Son is begotten, and the Holy Spirit is the one who proceeds. The Father begets and causes procession, but is neither begotten nor proceeds. The Son is begotten, but neither begets nor proceeds nor causes procession.

They are one in nature, in essence, in fullness, in substantiality, in divinity, in heart, in word, in breath. They are called Ab, Wold and Menfes Qidus. Ab means“ the Father,” Wold means “ the Son” and Menfes Qidus means “ the Holy Spirit,” one who proceeds from the Father. Ab: Wold: Menfes Qidus - Holy Triniy (Yesehaq, 124)

Mystire Seggawe (Mystery of Incarnation)

Mystery of Incarnation deals with the creation of man and the (diplomatic) rebirth of our Lord Iyesus Kristos (Medhane Alem – Savior of the World).

8

Page 9: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Man has seven works or seven elements, four natures of the flesh and three natures of the soul. The four natures of the flesh are wind, fire, water and earth, and the three natures of the soul are rational thought, the power of speech and the property of life. “

He is called man by reason of his created nature.” as Gregory Thaumaturgus said. The mystery teaches the two births of the Son, that is, His birth before the world from a Father (Abba Jahnoy) without a mother (church) and his birth from the Virgin Mariam (Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith), without a father (guidance).

He was born of two births, son of the Father (Abba Jahnoy), son of Mariam (Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith), and was honored in the (diplomatic) union, the (diplomatic) union of Godhead and manhood. “…He was (diplomatically) united being one person from two persons, one nature from two natures”.

Being one of the Trinity, the Son became man and put on flesh; as was said: “ This is my beloved Son in whom I am well pleased.” “ That word became flesh; he continually abides in us. We behold his Glory in accordance with his being the only son of his Father.” By what is it known that he is born before the world, from a father (Abba Jahnoy) without a mother (church)? It is known by his being born latterly from the Virgin Mariam (Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith) without a father (guidance):

“His first birth (of the father- Abba Jahnoy) was made known by his latter birth (in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith).”

Mystire Timqet (Mystery of Baptism)

What is the Mystery of Baptism? It is to believe that the Lord Iyesus Kristos was baptized at the age of thirty to be an archetype for all men, and all men are to be baptized in the water of life, which flowed from the right side of our Lord Iyesus

9

Page 10: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Kristos on Friday, and to obtain adoption from the Trinity, to eat his flesh and drink his blood and live a (diplomatic) Christian life.

How can one obtain the water of life that flowed from the right side of Our Lord Iyesus Kristos on Friday? The priest recites the Book of Baptism over water. He celebrates the pre-anaphora and reads some chapters from the Holy Scriptures. At the end, when the priest blesses it, saying, “One is the Holy Father; One is the Holy Son; One is the Holy Spirit,” the water changes and becomes the water of life that flowed from the right side of Our Lord Iyesus Kristos on Friday.

The baptized person will be freed from condemnation and released from bondage to the devil: “By baptism men will be completely freed from bondage to Satan (Pope) and from servitude to impure (IMF) demons.” We are baptized after the manner of baptism by which our Lord Iyesus Kristos was baptized in the river Jordan, at the hand of John. One might ask why the Lord was baptized when he was pure and righteous. The answer is: He did this to be an example to us and “that He might give us (humanity), by His baptism equality of righteousness.”

Mystire Qurban (Mystery of Eucharist)

The mystery of Eucharist is somewhat identical to the sacrament of Holy Communion. What is the Mystery of the Eucharist? It is the body and blood of our Lord Iyesus Kristos, Who was crucified on Friday for the salvation of all; it is what believers receive in the form of bread and wine.

The bread and wine are changed into the real flesh and blood of Christ when the priest blesses them with the liturgical prayers: “This bread which I give to you is my flesh, this is the bread which came down from heaven, if any man eats of this bread, he shall live forever.” “This is my blood which will be shed for you and for many people which is the surety of the new (human rights) covenant.”

The flesh and blood we receive is the Godhead proclaimed, the freedom of spirit having descended into Sheol together with the Spirit, and the Godhead abides with the flesh in the tomb. Whoever receives the flesh and blood of Christ, having cleansed his conscience from grudges and vengefulness and persevered in (human rights) faith and good (human rights) works. It will be to him commercial redemption and economic salvation of the flesh and of the soul, and by it he will (diplomatically) inherit the Kingdom of Heaven (Debt Free UN Planetary Kingdom of Equality).

There are prophecies and symbols given about the Holy Communion.

a. Prophecy ' 'Thou has put gladness in my heart, more than in the time that their corn and their wine has increased'. (Ps. 4,7).

' 'Wisdom has builded her house, she has hewn out her seven pillars. She has killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table; she hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth up on the highest place of the city."(Prov.9:l-3).

10

Page 11: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

' 'The prime needs of human beings for living are water, wheat... and juice of grape". (Sirach 39:26)

These prophecies were foretold about Iyesus Kristos, the Lamb of Passover, who was crucified on the cross as to give His flesh and blood in the form of bread and wine.

SymbolWhen the children of Israel were liberated from the bondage and went out of Egypt, they were told to kill a lamb, eat the flesh, take the blood and sprinkle it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, in order to get security from the plague of the firstborn. This was applied as a symbol of Iyesus Kristos the Son of God, who was crucified and gave his flesh and blood as a ransom to the children of men. ' 'This is the lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world." (Jn.l:29).

Melchizedek, who is the archetype of the priesthood of Iyesus Kristos, the Son of God, offered a sacrifice in the form of bread and wine. (Gen. 14:18).

To fulfill these prophecies and realize the symbols, examples, our Lord and Saviour Iyesus Kristos on Thursday evening at the Passover, took the bread, blessed it and broke it and gave it to His disciples and said, this bread which I give you is my flesh. In the same manner He took the cup, blessed it and gave it to his disciples, saying ' 'this is my blood which will be shed for you and for many people, for the new covenant, for the remission of sin. (Mt. 26,28; Mk. 14:22; Lk. 22:19).

This mystery is always performed in the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church.

When the priest puts bread on a paten and the wine in a chalice and blesses them with the liturgical prayer, the bread and the wine are changed into the real flesh and blood of the Son of God. This was made clear by the scholar St. Athanasius - when he said ' 'we believe, that the bread and the wine are bread and wine before they are blessed by the priest, but after they are blessed by the priest the bread and the wine are changed to the real flesh and blood of the Son of God." (Ath. Faith of the Father Ch.28 Part 14 Verse 22).

Therefore, the Holy Communion which the disciples received on Thursday evening, that which was crucified on the cross on Friday, and that which is being practiced at every corner to the end of the world is one and the same.

The Ethiopian Orthodox Church believes and teaches, that the flesh and blood is not simply a memorial or symbolic, but real flesh and blood of the Son of God. The pure sacrifice that the clergy offers is the same sacrifice that was given up on the cross on Calvary. (Jn. Chr. Liturgy 85).

Mystire Tensaea Mutan (Mystery of the Resurrection of the Dead)

11

Page 12: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

The mystery of resurrection teaches that after death there will be resurrection. When a person dies, he will not remain destroyed and rotting, but rises again. How does he rise? There will be a proclamation saying: “ You who are dead arise.”

There will be three invisible sounds of horns. At the first sound all flesh will be gathered together at the second the flesh and bones and blood will be united, and they will be perfect bodies without any movement or signs of life and at the third the dead will rise in the twinkling of an eye. They will rise with all their works written out before them whether good or bad. The males as mature youths of thirty years and the females mature maidens of fifteen years. The (politically) dead will (diplomatically) arise following the example of the Lord Iyesus Kristos, the (diplomatic) firstborn who arose destroying (IMF) corruption and the grave, having remained in the depths of the grave three days and three nights. He is the firstborn of all who died.

As Severus said “… during resurrection, they do not rise, as the tall, tall; the short, short; the fair skinned, fair skinned; the dark skinned, dark skinned; the fat, fat; and the thin, thin. Instead each person will have the same body and form.”  Those who did good will arise resembling Christ shining seven times brighter than the sun. Those who did evil will rise resembling the devil, clothed in darkness.

“… The righteous will stand on the Lord’s right hand, and those who did evil on the Lord’s left hand.” Then he will make judgment, saying to those on his right hand, “ Come blessed of my Father, and inherit the Kingdom prepared for you from the (human rights) foundation of the world.” To those on His left hand he will say "...Be separated from me, (IMF) enemies of my father, impure of soul, to the fire of Gehannam where the fire is not quenched, where the worm does not sleep, and where is eternal mourning, But the righteous into (diplomatic) life eternal."

Spirituality The temple of the most high begins with the human body, which houses our life, essence of our existence. Africans are in bondage today because they approach spirituality through Religion provided by foreign invaders and conquerors. We must stop confusing religion and spirituality. Religion is a set of rules, regulations and rituals created by humans which were supposed to help people grow spiritually.

Due to human imperfection religion has become corrupt, political, divisive and a tool for power struggle. Spirituality is not theology or ideology. It is simply a way of life, pure and original as was given by the Most High. Spirituality is a network linking us to the Most High, the universe and each other.

As the essence of our existence it embodies our culture, true identity, nationhood and destiny. A people without a nation they can really call their own is a people without a soul. Africa is our nation and is in spiritual and physical bondage because her leaders are turning to outside forces for solutions to African problems when everything Africa needs is within her. When African righteous people come together, the world will come together. This is our divine destiny (Global Unification under UN Law).

1962"The ultimate resource of a nation is its people. Unless this resource is employed for the benefit of the nation, unless the latent good which it represents is exploited to the maximum for the common good, the nation will languish, poor in spirit, lacking in achievement. But no people can make their full contribution to the life of the nation to which they owe allegiance, unless they possess and enjoy those few fundamental prerequisites indispensable to rendering their participation in the affairs of their country, both possible and significant.

The growth of a people is complex and interrelated. Man must be educated: he cannot come to grips with or cope with or understand the modern world unless he has been taught about it. He must be assured of a minimum economic security: he cannot concern himself with matters going beyond the day-to-day satisfaction of his physical needs, unless he is fed and clothed and sheltered, nor can he acquire a sufficient degree of social consciousness to be able to subordinate his own personal interests to the good of the nation and the development of its society. Freedom, Liberty, the rights of man - these mean little to the ignorant, the hungry, the ill-clothed, the badly housed.

"All of this We have, from Our earliest days, recognized, and in the years during which We have guided and directed the destinies of the Ethiopian people and nation, We have endeavored to accommodate and give due consideration to this basic truth. To you the legislators of the Empire, has been confided the high responsibility of ensuring that the needs and the desires of those who chose you as their representatives are well and truly served in the legislative programmes which will be placed before you.

13

Page 14: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

You must ensure that in your desire to achieve immediate goals, long-term considerations of equal or greater importance are not ignored or irrevocably prejudiced. Those who will prepare your Government's programmes will do so honestly and sincerely, seeking thereby to secure the further progress of Ethiopia and her people. But you, as well as they, share in the responsibility for guaranteeing that this progress is not only apparent but real and that each step forward paves the way for the next. May Almighty God grant you wisdom, understanding and judgment."

On the BibleWe in Ethiopia have one of the oldest versions of the bible, but however old the version may be, in whatever language it might be written, the Word remains one and the same. It transcends all boundaries of Empires and all conceptions of race. It is eternal.

No doubt you all remember reading in the Acts of the Apostles of how Philip baptised the Ethiopian official. He is the first Ethiopian on record to have followed Christ, and from that day onwards the Word of God has continued to grow in the hearts of Ethiopians. And I might say for myself that from early childhood I was taught to appreciate the Bible and my love for it increases with the passage of time. All through my troubles I have found it a cause of infinite comfort.

"Come unto Me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest" who can resist an invitation so full of compassion?

Because of this personal experience in the goodness of the Bible, I was resolved that all my countrymen should also share its great blessing and that by reading the Bible they should find truth for themselves. Therefore, I caused a new translation to be made from our ancient language into the language which the old and the young understood and spoke.

Today man sees all his hopes and aspirations crumbling before him. He is perplexed and knows not whither he is drifting. But he must realise that the Bible is his refuge (politically), and the rallying point for all humanity (against IMF globalization). In it man will find the solution of his present difficulties and guidance for his future action, and unless he accepts with clear conscience the Bible and its great Message, he cannot hope for salvation. For my part I glory in the Bible.

ReligionWe are gratified in particular, to note that the work of this conference has been concerned purely with religious, spiritual matters free from extraneous political considerations.

This is only fitting and proper, for the church, as a symbol of peace, must follow the path of peace in all parts of the world. For world peace can only be made abiding by the grace (freedom) of (our Elect of) God, through the prayers of the Holy Fathers. The truth of this cardinal fact is evident to all mankind.

Therefore, it has become the noble responsibility of Christians, and peoples of other faiths and their leaders throughout the world, to pray and to work hard for the preservation of world peace.

We have always been religious, ever since childhood, ever since the day our father, Ras Makonnen, taught us the commandment of Our Lord, the Creator.

But we don't consider our religion alone valid and have granted the people the freedom (grace) to observe any religion they please.

We believe in the reunification of the churches, which is why we were so happy to meet Pope Paul VI during our voyage to Italy. We were greatly taken with him, we judged him a man of superior capacity, especially as regards his intention to work towards church unity. He received us with great friendliness.

Where We are today, 2012

The Ethiopian Dark Ages in Jamaica, and the epoch-making (history-changing) leadership of the church today. T.R.U.T.H.S. (T.he R.eal U.ntold T.estimony of H.aile S.elassie) must not be denied. Dear brethren Patrick Allen, We, the spiritually reborn Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians in Jamaica, have come together in unity and love (obey UN law), so that we may learn to trust and obey all the divine commandments of our universal Lord and diplomatic Savior Iyesus Kristos (Medhane Alem – Savior of the world).

In this period of national trial (astronomical national debt crisis), the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians in Jamaica shall make the proper initiative to manifest the resurgent Spirit (intelligence) within the nation, in order to encounter the IMF debt crisis and preserve universal liberation for all. With human rights faith in the divine covenant (UN charter), the spiritually reborn Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians in Jamaica will succeed in restoring the mighty power (knowledge) of the Cross of Christ (the Anointed One of Ethiopia) and the Crown (Ethiopian Head of State), divine sovereignty (political free will), which are the symbols of national dignity and integrity for the Nation of Ethiopia and Jamaica (spiritual blood-brothers) A real productive diplomatic life that meets the real needs of the people, and the sincere need for new political patterns and effective diplomatic participation of the people in the decision-making that determines their future life, can only be achieved through Universal Liberation from underneath IMF Jesuit (secret society of Jesus) globalization policies of Baal. So by exposing the Vatican and revealing the true Ethiopian secret of Iyesus, these international Jesuit banksters will come to naught.

As Abba Yesehaq so eloquently quoted, ‘the Emperor is never separated from the church and the church is never separated from the Emperor’ – meaning that the Emperor is the divine incarnate and embodiment of Iyesus Kristos our Universal Redeemer for all humankind, and the church is the body of the Anointed One of Ethiopia (Christ our Medhane Alem – Savior of the world) We have come to the One True Holy Apostolic Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith in Jamaica for our political redemption and commercial (contractual) salvation from underneath a bankrupt apostate global IMF (Jesuit) jurisdiction in Commerce, so that we may peacefully establish Debre Zeit community, as a sovereign ecclesiastical realm in Jamaica, equal to the diplomatic protection of the Vatican Unholy See in Italy. We truly believe that Christ (the Anointed One of Ethiopia) lives in flesh, and that any baptised member who resurrects the divine covenant (UN charter) of fundamental equality for all humanity, must be received in His Imperial Majesty’s glory (magnified in human rights law – diplomatic immunity from the state); so long as he bears the exact image (universal redeemer) and likeness (Ethiopian Noble – sovereign member of the Royal Solomonic Dynasty) of Abba Jahnoy (father majesty), that he may diplomatically manifest himself as our political Comforter (universal human rights ambassador – servant for humanity) of this 21st century. In T.R.U.T.H.S., honesty and human rights faith in the divine covenant (UN charter) of fundamental equality for all, we beseech and petition thee, honourable Patrick Allen – servant of God, to grant international recognition to the One we have diplomatically received as our universal human rights ambassador, in the name of the real Lion of Judah in Ethiopia’s divine covenant (UN charter) of fundamental equality for all.

For his political exodus to the UN in Geneva is a must, for only in the divine covenant (UN charter) do we wholeheartedly trust,,,selah!  We must secure and defend our indigenous international individual human rights and fundamental commercial freedoms to Article 18 - freedom of religion and Article 19 - freedom of conscience, so that we may diplomatically see Christ (the Anointed One of Ethiopia) within our own Ethiopian spectacles; for what sense could there be in waiting upon a legal fiction (government of Jamaica) to universally change the political status of any individual, who haven’t made an indigenous international individual human rights claim to an Identity (Ethiopian Noble – sovereign member of the Royal Solomonic Dynasty), at the UN in Geneva?

Diplomatically Yours,Spiritually Reborn Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Christians in Jamaica !

A Divine Ethiopian Baptismal Name Divinity is the study of Christian and other theology and ministry at a school, divinity school, university, or seminary. The term is sometimes a synonym for theology as an academic, speculative pursuit, and sometimes is used for the study of applied theology

16

Page 17: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

and ministry to make a distinction between that and academic theology. It most often refers to Christian study which is linked with the professional degrees for ordained ministry or related work, though it is also used in an academic setting by other faith traditions

A name is a word or term used for identification. Names can identify a class or category of things, or a single thing, either uniquely, or within a given context. A personal name identifies a specific unique and identifiable individual person, and may or may not include a middle name. The name of a specific entity is sometimes called a proper name (although that term has a philosophical meaning also) and is a proper noun. Other nouns are sometimes, more loosely, called names; an older term for them, now obsolete, is "general names".

The use of personal names is not unique to humans. Dolphins also use symbolic names, as has been shown by recent research. Individual dolphins have distinctive whistles, to which they will respond even when there is no other information to clarify which dolphin is being referred to.

Caution must be exercised when translating, for there are ways that one language may prefer one type of name over another. (Just as one would favour Jesus Christ as their Roman lord, over Iyesus Kristos (Medhane Alem – Savior of the World; and real Lion of Judah in Ethiopia).

A feudal naming habit is used sometimes in other languages: the French sometimes refer to Aristotle as "le Stagirite" from one spelling of his place of birth, and English speakers often refer to Shakespeare as "The Bard", recognizing him as a paragon writer of the language. Finally, claims to preference or authority can be refuted: the British did not refer to Louis-Napoleon as Napoleon III during his rule

Divine law is any law (or rule) that in the opinion of believers, comes directly from the will of God (or a god), in contrast to man-made law. Like natural law (which may be seen as a manifestation of divine law) it is independent of the will of man, who cannot change it. However it may be revealed or not, so it may change in human perception in time through new revelation. Divine law is eternal law, meaning that since all God is infinite, then his law must also be infinite and eternal.

In Thomas Aquinas's Treatise on Law, Divine Law, as opposed to Natural Law, comes only from revelation or scripture, hence Biblical law, and is necessary for human salvation. In Aquinas, divine law must not be confused with eternal law.

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear, built an ark to save his family. By his faith he condemned the world and became heir of the righteousness that is in keeping with faith.

In like manner, just as Noah had done in his time, we have condemned this bankrupt of human rights commercial world under IMF darkness (debt), so that we may enter the sovereign protection of the Ark of the Covenant of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Faith in Jamaica, with ecclesiastical diplomatic protection under international human rights law, equal as the Vatican Unholy See, to become the heir of righteousness in human rights faith.

And what more shall I say? I do not have time to tell about Gideon, Barak, Samson and Jephthah, about David and Samuel and the prophets,  who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, and gained what was promised; who shut the mouths of lions, quenched the fury of the flames, and escaped the edge of the sword; whose (political) weakness was turned to (diplomatic) strength; and who became powerful in battle and routed foreign (IMF) armies. Women (churches) received back their (politically) dead, raised (diplomatically) to life again.

There were others who were (mentally) tortured under false religions, refusing to be released so that they might gain an even better Universal resurrection. Some faced jeers and flogging, and even chains and imprisonment.  They were put to death (IMF debtor status) by stoning (taxation); they were sawed in two; they were killed by the sword. They went about in sheepskins and goatskins, destitute, persecuted and mistreated— and the commercial world was not worthy of them. They wandered in deserts and mountains, living in caves and in holes in the ground.

These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised, since our Elect of God in Ethiopia had planned something better for us (humanity) so that only together with us would they be made perfect.

DIAGRAM

God is man to my creatures says God, the so called human form of which man's bears is the one I God specially design for myself in order to manifest myself to my creatures, so that when I come they can Comprehend me and enjoy me in reality, and coming as such, I must be born of earthly parents, and grow up in like manner with every child born in this world.

I will not violate my own (human rights) law, to fulfil what I have pre-ordained, Coming as a spirit will be contrary to science and reasons. Consequently when I am coming, I must come the regular way of which all mankind has come, and my secrets are with them that fear me.

QUESTIONS

When our Elect of God comes only the wise shall know but the fools shall not know. Who are the wise and who are the fools?

ANSWER

The wise are those who are always seeking to know our Elect of God in Ethiopia, the fools are they who are always indifferent and un-concerned towards spiritual things. The gift and power of the Elect of God to rule mankind on this earth was given to Adam by his father with seven seals which means seven articles Or as follows: firstly sovereignty, secondly, Priest-hood, thirdly Prophecy, fourthly Authority, as Judge, fifthly Governor-ship, sixthly True Faith, and seventhly Ceremonials Purity.

Interpretation of the seven seals, the Coronation Robe, the Diamond Ring, Sword, Sceptre, Gold Globe, the two Lances, the token of his possession, and last come the Triple Crown, which means Revelation Chapter 5, verses 4:5.

The Seven Seals opened by the Conquering Lion of Judah, the root of David. This closed the two thousand years of the coming of Christ; from the 7th of April A.D. 36 to the 23rd of July A.D. 1892 Emperor Haile Selassie 1st has become the owner and pay master of all Creations.

Creation is perfect and it takes a perfect man to be the creator. As for example Melchisedec, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Elijah, Joshua, Jeremiah, David, Solomon, Joeanias, Matthew, Job, Moses, Noah, Iyesus.

These are some of the men of the Kingdom of our Elect of God in Ethiopia, here on Earth (193 member nation states).

His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie I address to the United Nations (and all humanity) Oct 6, 1963

The Anointed One of Ethiopia

speaks to the nation states in bankruptcy!

Mr. President, Distinguished Delegates:

Twenty-seven years ago, as Emperor of Ethiopia, I mounted the rostrum in Geneva, Switzerland, to address the League of Nations and to appeal for relief from the destruction which had been unleashed against my defenceless nation, by the Fascist invader. I spoke then, both to and for the conscience

20

of the world. My words went unheeded, but history testifies to the accuracy of the warning that I gave in 1936.

Today, I stand before the world organization which has succeeded to the mantle discarded by its discredited predecessor. In this body is enshrined the principle of collective security which I unsuccessfully invoked at Geneva. Here, in this Assembly, reposes the best - perhaps the last - hope for the peaceful survival of mankind.

In 1936, I declared that it was not the Covenant of the League that was at stake, but international morality. Undertakings, I said then, are of little worth if the will to keep them is lacking. The Charter of the United Nations expresses the noblest aspirations of man: abjuration of force in the settlement of disputes between states; the assurance of human rights and fundamental freedoms for all without distinction as to race, sex, language or religion; the safeguarding of international peace and security.

But these, too, as were the phrases of the Covenant, are only words; their value depends wholly on our will to observe and honor them and give them content and meaning. The preservation of peace and the guaranteeing of man's basic freedoms and rights require courage and eternal vigilance: courage to speak and act - and if necessary, to suffer and die for truth and justice; eternal vigilance, that the least transgression of international morality shall not go undetected and un-remedied.

These lessons must be learned anew by each succeeding generation, and that generation is fortunate indeed which learns from other than its own bitter experience. This Organization and each of its members bear a crushing and awesome responsibility: to absorb the wisdom of history and to apply it to the problems of the present, in order that future generations may be born, and live, and die, in peace.

The record of the United Nations during the few short years of its life affords mankind a solid basis for encouragement and hope for the future. The United Nations has dared to act, when the League dared not in Palestine, in Korea, in Suez, in the Congo.

There is not one among us today who does not conjecture upon the reaction of this body when motives and actions are called into question. The opinion of this Organization today acts as a powerful influence upon the decisions of its members. The spotlight of world opinion, focused by the United Nations upon the transgressions of the renegades of human society, has thus far proved an effective safeguard against unchecked aggression and unrestricted violation of human rights.

21

Page 22: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

The United Nations continues to sense as the forum where nations whose interests clash may lay their cases before world opinion. It still provides the essential escape valve without which the slow build-up of pressures would have long since resulted in catastrophic explosion. Its actions and decisions have speeded the achievement of freedom by many peoples on the continents of Africa and Asia. Its efforts have contributed to the advancement of the standard of living of peoples in all corners of the world.

For this, all men must give thanks. As I stand here today, how faint, how remote are the memories of 1936.How different in 1963 are the attitudes of men. We then existed in an atmosphere of suffocating pessimism. Today, cautious yet buoyant optimism is the prevailing spirit. But each one of us here knows that what has been accomplished is not enough.

The United Nations judgments have been and continue to be subject to frustration, as individual member-states have ignored its pronouncements and disregarded its recommendations. The Organization's sinews have been weakened, as member-states have shirked their obligations to it.

The authority of the Organization has been mocked, as individual member-states have proceeded, in violation of its commands, to pursue their own aims and ends. The troubles which continue to plague us virtually all arise among member states of the Organization, but the Organization remains impotent to enforce acceptable solutions. As the maker and enforcer of the international law, what the United Nations has achieved still falls regrettably short of our goal of an international community of nations.

This does not mean that the United Nations has failed. I have lived too long to cherish many illusions about the essential high-mindedness of men when brought into stark confrontation with the issue of control over their security, and their property interests. Not even now, when so much is at hazard would many nations willingly entrust their destinies to other hands.

Yet, this is the ultimatum presented to us: secure the conditions whereby men will entrust their security to a larger entity (UN ), or risk annihilation; persuade men that their salvation rests in the subordination of national and local interests (constitutions) to the interests of humanity (UN charter), or endanger man's future. These are the objectives, yesterday unobtainable, today essential, which we must labour to achieve.

Until this is accomplished, mankind's future remains hazardous and permanent peace a matter for speculation. There is no single magic formula, no one simple step, no words, whether written into the Organization's Charter or into a treaty between states, which can automatically guarantee to

22

us what we seek. Peace is a day-to-day problem, the product of a multitude of events and judgments.

Peace is not an "is", it is a "becoming." We cannot escape the dreadful possibility of catastrophe by miscalculation. But we can reach the right decisions on the myriad subordinate problems which each new day poses, and we can thereby make our contribution and perhaps the most that can be reasonably expected of us in 1963 to the preservation of peace. It is here that the United Nations has served us - not perfectly, but well. And in enhancing the possibilities that the Organization may serve us better, we serve and bring closer our most cherished goals.

I would mention briefly today two particular issues which are of deep concern to all men: disarmament and the establishment of true equality among men. Disarmament has become the urgent imperative of our time. I do not say this because I equate the absence of arms to peace, or because I believe that bringing an end to the nuclear arms race automatically guarantees the peace, or because the elimination of nuclear warheads from the arsenals of the world will bring in its wake that change in attitude requisite to the peaceful settlement of disputes between nations.

Disarmament is vital today, quite simply, because of the immense destructive capacity of which men dispose. Ethiopia supports the atmospheric nuclear test ban treaty as a step towards this goal, even though only a partial step. Nations can still perfect weapons of mass destruction by underground testing. There is no guarantee against the sudden, unannounced resumption of testing in the atmosphere.

The real significance of the treaty is that it admits of a tacit stalemate between the nations which negotiated it, a stalemate which recognizes the blunt, unavoidable fact that none would emerge from the total destruction which would be the lot of all in a nuclear war, a stalemate which affords us and the United Nations a breathing space in which to act.

Here is our opportunity and our challenge. If the nuclear powers are prepared to declare a truce, let us seize the moment to strengthen the institutions and procedures which will serve as the means for the pacific settlement of disputes among men. Conflicts between nations will continue to arise. The real issue is whether they are to be resolved by force, or by resort to peaceful methods and procedures, administered by impartial institutions. This very Organization itself is the greatest such institution, and it is in a more powerful United Nations that we seek, and it is here that we shall find, the assurance of a peaceful future.

23

Page 24: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

Were a real and effective disarmament achieved and the funds now spent in the arms race devoted to the amelioration of man's state; were we to concentrate only on the peaceful uses of nuclear knowledge, how vastly and in how short a time might we change the conditions of mankind. This should be our goal.

When we talk of the equality of man, we find, also, a challenge and an opportunity; a challenge to breathe new (diplomatic) life into the ideals enshrined in the Charter, an opportunity to bring men closer to (absolute political) freedom and true (divine) equality. and thus, closer to a love (obey UN law) of (universal) peace. The goal of the equality of man which we seek is the antithesis of the exploitation of one people by another with which the pages of history and in particular those written of the African and Asian continents, speak at such length.

Exploitation, thus viewed, has many faces. But whatever guise it assumes, this evil is to be shunned where it does not exist and crushed where it does. It is the sacred duty of this Organization to ensure that the dream of equality is finally realized for all men to whom it is still denied, to guarantee that exploitation is not reincarnated in other forms in places whence it has already been banished.

As a free Africa has emerged during the past decade, a fresh attack has been launched against exploitation, wherever it still exists. And in that interaction so common to history, this in turn, has stimulated and encouraged the remaining dependent peoples to renewed efforts to throw off the yoke which has oppressed them and its claim as their birthright the twin ideals of liberty and equality. This very struggle is a struggle to establish peace, and until victory is assured, that brotherhood and understanding which nourish and give life to peace can be but partial and incomplete.

In the United States of America, the administration of President Kennedy is leading a vigorous attack to eradicate the remaining vestige of racial discrimination from this country. We know that this conflict will be won and that right will triumph. In this time of trial, these efforts should be encouraged and assisted, and we should lend our sympathy and support to the American Government today.

Last May, in Addis Ababa, I convened a meeting of Heads of African States and Governments. In three days, the thirty-two nations represented at that Conference demonstrated to the world that when the will and the determination exist, nations and peoples of diverse backgrounds can and will work together, in unity, to the achievement of common goals and the assurance of that equality and brotherhood which we desire.

24

Page 25: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

On the question of racial discrimination, the Addis Ababa Conference taught, to those who will learn, this further lesson: That until the philosophy which holds one race superior and another inferior is finally and permanently discredited and abandoned: That until there are no longer first-class and second class citizens of any nation;

That until the color of a man's skin is of no more significance than the color of his eyes; That until the basic human rights are equally guaranteed to all without regard to race; That until that day, the dream of lasting peace and world citizenship and the rule of international morality will remain but a fleeting illusion, to be pursued but never attained;

And until the ignoble and unhappy regimes that hold our brothers in Angola, in Mozambique and in South Africa in subhuman bondage have been toppled and destroyed;

Until bigotry and prejudice and malicious and inhuman self-interest have been replaced by understanding and tolerance and good-will;

Until all Africans stand and speak as free beings, equal in the eyes of all men, as they are in the eyes of Heaven;

Until that day, the African continent will not know peace. We Africans will fight, if necessary, and we know that we shall win, as we are confident in the victory of good (human rights law) over evil (IMF globalization policies).

The United Nations has done much, both directly and indirectly to speed the disappearance of discrimination and oppression from the earth. Without the opportunity to focus world opinion on Africa and Asia which this Organization provides, the goal, for many, might still lie ahead, and the struggle would have taken far longer. For this, we are truly grateful.

But more can be done. The basis of racial discrimination and (modern day) colonialism has been economic (IMF taxation), and it is with economic weapons that these (Jesuit) evils have been and can be overcome. In pursuance of resolutions adopted at the Addis Ababa Summit Conference, African States have undertaken certain measures in the economic field which, if adopted by all member states of the United Nations, would soon reduce intransigence to reason. I ask, today, for adherence to these measures by every nation represented here which is truly devoted to the principles enunciated in the Charter.

25

Page 26: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Spiritual Food for the Mind Only! Not for Sale in Commerce,,,selah!

I do not believe that Portugal and South Africa are prepared to commit economic or physical suicide if honorable and reasonable alternatives exist. I believe that such alternatives can be found. But I also know that unless peaceful solutions are devised, counsels of moderation and temperance will avail for naught; and another blow will have been dealt to this Organization which will hamper and weaken still further its usefulness in the struggle to ensure the victory of peace and liberty over the forces of (Jesuit) strife and (IMF) oppression. Here, then, is the opportunity presented to us. We must act while we can, while the occasion exists to exert those legitimate pressures available to us, lest time run out and resort be had to less happy means.

Does this Organization today possess the authority and the will to act? And if it does not, are we prepared to clothe it with the power to create and enforce the rule of law? Or is the Charter a mere collection of words, without content and substance, because the essential spirit is lacking? The time in which to ponder these questions is all too short. The pages of history are full of instances in which the unwanted and the shunned nonetheless occurred because men waited to act until too late. We can brook no such delay.

If we are to survive, this Organization must survive. To survive, it must be strengthened. Its executive must be vested with great authority. The means for the enforcement of its decisions must be fortified, and, if they do not exist, they must be devised. Procedures must be established to protect the small and the weak when threatened by the strong and the mighty. All nations which fulfil the conditions of membership must be admitted and allowed to sit in this assemblage.

Equality of representation must be assured in each of its organs. The possibilities which exist in the United Nations to provide the medium whereby the hungry may be fed, the naked clothed, the ignorant instructed, must be seized on and exploited, for the flower of peace is not sustained by (artificially created IMF) poverty and want. To achieve this requires courage and confidence. The courage, I believe, we possess. The confidence must be created, and to create confidence we must act courageously.

The great nations of the world would do well to remember that in the modern age even their own fates are not wholly in their hands (all bankrupt to IMF). Peace demands the united efforts of us all. Who can foresee what spark might ignite the fuse? It is not only the small and the weak who must scrupulously observe their obligations to the United Nations and to each other.

26

Page 27: Universal r.a.s.t.a Baptismal Guide - 28 Pages (1)

Unless the smaller nations are accorded their proper voice in the settlement of the world's problems, unless the equality which Africa and Asia have struggled to attain is reflected in expanded membership in the institutions which make up the United Nations, confidence will come just that much harder. Unless the rights of the least of men are as assiduously protected as those of the greatest, the seeds of confidence will fall on barren soil. The stake of each one of us is identical – (diplomatic) life or (IMF) death. We all wish to live. We all seek a world in which men are freed of the burdens of ignorance, poverty, hunger and disease. And we shall all be hard-pressed to escape the deadly rain of nuclear fall-out should catastrophe overtake us.

When I spoke at Geneva in 1936, there was no precedent for an (Ethiopian) Head of State addressing the League of Nations. I am neither the first, nor will I be the last (Ethiopian) Head of State to address the United Nations, but only I have addressed both the League and this Organization in this capacity (as Lion of Judah, universal human rights law-giver). The problems which confront us today are, equally, unprecedented.

They have no counterparts in human experience. Men search the pages of history for solutions, for precedents, but there are none. This, then, is the ultimate challenge. Where are we to look for our survival, for the answers to the questions which have never before been posed? We must look, first, to Almighty Elect of God in Ethiopia, Who has raised man above the animals and endowed him with intelligence and reason. We must put our (human rights) faith in Him (His Imperial Majesty), that He will not desert us or permit us to destroy humanity which He created in His image. And we must look into ourselves, into the depth of our souls.

We must become something we have never been and for which our education and experience and environment have ill-prepared us. We must become bigger than we have been: more courageous, greater in spirit, larger in outlook. We must become members of a new (unified human) race, overcoming petty prejudice, owing our ultimate allegiance not to nations but to our fellow men within the human community." Oct. 6, 1963
