Course OverviewThe course is a collaborative programbetween the areas of Engineering andInformation Technology which providesstudents with the electrical engineeringand software development skills to seekemployment as software engineers. Theengineering component consists ofstudies in electronic systems engineeringwhile the information technologycomponent concentrates on softwareengineering. These studies integrate intoa cohesive course which gives a wide andadvanced study of modern electronic andcomputing systems. This degreeproduces computer and electronicengineers especially suited for thedevelopment and application of electronicsystems and computer systems in allareas of industry.
Career OutcomesSoftware Engineers create, maintain andmodify computer and software programs
such as operating systems orcommunications software. They may alsoevaluate and deploy new programmingtools and techniques and analyse currentsoftware products. You may work in arange of occupational environments.Software engineers can work inEngineering/IT-specific industries, as wellas in other organisations requiringsoftware engineering expertise.
