MobiON - online mobility platform of the UB

Outgoing candidates

1. The call is open via mobiON

2. The announcement with deadlines for internal application/evaluation/nomination is

automatically sent to all ECTS coordinators of participating UB faculties, who further distribute

and promote it

3. After the application period is over, the respective ECTS coordinator evaluates applications

from their faculty based on a predetermined list of criteria (available at the platform as well) and

sends official selection to the central IRO

4. Central IRO nominates all selected candidates to the foreign partner, who then proceeds with

its own procedure.

MobiON - online mobility platform of the UB

Incoming candidates

1. 1. Upon its internal selection procedure, the foreign partner nominates its candidstes via

email to the UB IRO

2. 2. Only nominated candidates then apply via mobiON at preferred UB faculty

3. 3. Respective ECTS coordinator evaluates incoming applications at the platform that

automatically generates acceptance letter with the names of accepted foreign candidates

4. 4. The UB sends the official acceptance letter to the partner.

Some institutions do not consider the inter-institutional

agreement (IIA) a binding legal document.

Examples

Contracts are supplied in electronic form as pdf files.

The IIA is signed by an employee.

The number and type of stipulated mobility flows exceeds actual available funding.

Administrative problems experienced & identified

The number of arranged mobilities is not respected.

Examples

The program institution doubled the number of incoming mobilities without informing the

partner host institution, the students just showed up at the university.

The program institution belatedly informed the university that the number of mobilities

denoted in the IIA signed by both parties was for the whole country, not for that one

university.

mobion.bg.ac.rs

The receiving institution is late in paying stipends, so students or staff are forced to pre-finance their mobility. Some sending universities select insufficiently prepared students or staff (for example, with extremely poor knowledge of English). Some universities do not follow procedures and deadlines: The sending institution insists that the mobility be realized before the IIA is signed. The sending institution informs the receiving university of the mobility 2-3 days before the student or staff arrival.

Specific problems

Mobility between 3+2 and 4+1 curricula

Discrepancy in number of ECTS allocated

Academic calendars

Insisting on IIA without thorough examination of the

compatibility of study programs

Erasmus+ KA1 in 2019:

Serbia as a Program Country

In January 2019 Serbia changed its status from a partner to a program country (valid as of 2019/20 a.y.)

KA107: University of Belgrade + H.E. from a partner country Duration: 24 or 36 months Budget: H.E. from a program country is responsible for both outgoing and incoming grants *KA107 ICM budget distribution for Serbia, 2019 call: https://erasmusplus.rs/ka1-international-credit-mobility-budget-distrubution-call-2019/

KA103: University of Belgrade + H.E. from another program country Duration: 16 or 24 months Budget: Each H.E. has its own budget for outgoing grants

In both KA107 and KA103 cooperation a mandatory first step is an Inter-Institutional Agreement between the two institutions.
