HOWEVER, BEFORE YOU ARRANGE A MEETING WITH HER, YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE SURE YOU’VEDONE SOME You will need a minimum of 15 potential students for a sports club and 10 for a society who are willing to join your new activity.

Within your sports club or society you will need a committee, made up of a President, Vice President and Treasurer.

THE PRESIDENT – The leader of your Activity who ensures that the activity follows the constitution. They oversee the day-to-day running of the activity and are the main point of contact.

VICE PRESIDENT – Supports the President, and when required, acts as President in their absence. Organises meetings and ensures the activity follows the constitution at all times.

TREASURER – Keeps all financial information for the activity up to date and is responsible for the financial transactions.

FILL IN A NEW SPORTS CLUB OR SOCIETY FORM The form can be found online at lincolnsu.com or alternatively, collect one from the SU reception. (See form example on next page) Once completed, it can be sent to activitiesoffice@lincolnsu.com or handed in at the SU reception.

Once you have submitted the application form, you will be asked to make an appointment with Hayley Jayne. This is where you will have the chance to share your ideas, plan for the year ahead and understand the process of what happens at a sports or society committee.

WHAT HAPPENS AT COMMITTEE? A Committee is a general meeting for all committee members of each sports club and society. There are six held per year and attendance is mandatory. We would require at least one representative to attend each scheduled meeting.

GETTING RATIFIED Your application will be added to the agenda for the next scheduled committee meeting. You will be required to present your case in order for the committees to understand your reasoning in setting up your new activity. This will then be followed by a vote to approve or decline your application.
