University of Phoenix ‐ Prior Learning Pre‐Evaluated List
No pre‐licensure or pre‐certification coursework will be accepted unless otherwise indicated under a specific training provider/section of the guide.
Continuing Education coursework may be submitted for additional credit unless otherwise indicated under a specific training provider/section of the guide. Official proof of completion, proof of hours, and proof of modality will be required.
Duplication ‐ when this word is used, it means that an item on the pre‐evaluated list duplicates the content of another course or item. PLA will not award credit for certifications or coursework that duplicates the content of credits earned through PLA, transfer credit, or University of Phoenix coursework. As such, if duplication occurs, the credit award will be reduced.
Credit awarded based on the recommendations in this guide will appear on the student's transcript using the course code PEL/299 or PEL/399.
Credit recommendations listed are a recommendation, not a guarantee. Application of credits to a student's program may vary as a result of program requirements, credit deficiencies, and/or the current policies of Prior Learning Assessment or the University of Phoenix and its subsidiaries.
Appropriate documentation must be provided and received while within the evaluation process to be eligible to receive the credits recommended. Please see the PLA website or the specific training provider to determine the documentation requirements.
Only coursework submitted from the indicated training provider will be eligible to receive the credit recommendations below. All others will require official proof of completion and official proof of hours and will be subject to evaluation per PLA policy.
PLA credit can be used to waive out of core or required coursework in some programs. A valid copy of a waiver request must be submitted. Certificate must be within 10 years of current enrollment agreement sign date for most programs. Some programs have additional requirements. Please contact your academic counselor for program specifics and limitations.
