· Stipend covering 10 weeks of research during Fall and Spring semesters
· Support for travel to national scientific conferences
Eligibility
· Strong interest in microbiology or immunology
· Completed at least 1 semester of undergraduate coursework
· Member of an underrepresented racial/ethnic group as defined by the National Institutes of Health (https://diversity.nih.gov/about-us/population-underrepresented)
· ≥ 18 years old and currently enrolled as an undergraduate at the University of Pittsburgh

The Microbiology and Immunology Diversity (MID) Scholars Program
Overview
This program aims to engage underrepresented minority (URM) undergraduate students in long-term basic, clinical, and/or translational research projects within the Graduate Program in Microbiology and Immunology under the mentorship of experienced researchers and principal investigators.
