F ounded in 1983 in Tempe, Arizona, University Advancing Technology (UAT) is a small, private university
educating students in advancing technology who desire to innovate in the areas of emerging technology disciplines. UAT is designated as a Center of Academic Excellence by the National Centers of Information Assurance Education (CAE/IAE) sponsored by the U.S. National Security Agency and the Homeland Security Department. The University of Advancing Technology is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (hlcommission.org), a regional accreditation agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. With its focus on educating the best thinkers who advance society through a lifetime of innovation, it is one of only a few colleges in the U.S. offering 100 percent STEM-based degrees at the undergraduate and graduate levels.

When students need a break from screen time, there are more than 30
clubs and organizations to choose from, some of which include: Anime & Manga Club, Social Gaming Club, Fencing Club, Nerf Warz, KJ Dance, Improv Club and more. Students can even start their own club!
On-campus events get students engaged with one another and are definitely geared toward the student body. Fun events include: Academic Palooza, AVNET Tech Games, LAN parties, Geek Week, Live Action Games, Oktoberfest, and Guitar Hero Tournaments.
Looking for the Best? Students have access to tools, labs and studios used in industry to develop, test, build and create projects. High-tech tools include: brainwave-controlled Emotiv Headset, 3D scanner, and laser cutter and 3D printers that copy and build three dimensional models. Hundreds of computers with additional specialty workstations are located throughout the campus and students have access to labs such as: Cyber Warfare Range The U.S. Department of Defense (DoD) funded this cyber security lab for students pursuing Network Security, Information Assurance, Network Engineering, Technology Forensics or related majors. Digital Makers Fab Lab Modeled from the design of MIT’s first Fab Lab Community, this lab is stocked with 3D printers, laser cutters and software. New Technology Lab UAT’s New Technology (NT) Lab provides an innovation sandbox where, together under one roof, a variety of leading-edge, prototype technologies converge for students to explore and shape new ideas and collaborate in a shared learning environment. The lab includes work stations for Apple Development, Mobile Development, Game Development, Virtual Reality, Mind Control and Motion Control. Technology Innovation Lab The University provides a wide range of tools and materials for light metalworking, light electrical engineering, soldering and mechatronics. Students can use this lab to fix a computer or build a robot. Video Editing Studio This studio is available to the campus community to use on projects related to animation, digital video and games. Here, students can perform editing, compositing and sound recording activities.

Students will live in Founder’s Hall with full wireless coverage. For
movie buffs, the hall has a Hi-def movie room equipped with a 120-inch, 1080p projection screen and 5.1 Dolby Digital surround sound. Soundproof ‘Think Tanks’ are equipped with white boards, monitors and
work spaces for students to create the next big invention.
There’s plenty of community space for students to relax and a fitness
center for workouts. There’s even a laundry facility that’s connected to the internet for students to see if machines are open!
