DISCOVERY ART CAMP AGES 4-6
Every day is an artistic adventure! Campers will create artwork inspired by people, far away places, animals and all the fun stuff in life. Children will experience drawing, watercolor, acrylic, pastels and 3-D art in a variety of individual and collaborative projects. Each week offers new and different projects.
ART STUDIOS AGES 11-14
Students will discover art through exploration of their favorite art mediums in a studio setting. Taught by artists working in their area of expertise, these studios allow participants to try different mediums throughout the summer. Printmaking Studio Carve your own linocut, design and print a t-shirt, explore monotypes and other methods of printing. Pottery Studio Learn different pottery techniques while creating and glazing, completing your own unique pieces of pottery. Comic/Anime Learn how to draw and develop original characters and how to use essential visual storytelling techniques.
NIGHT SCHOOL AGES 15+
Hey high school students! Don’t let Night School fun happen without you. Join us this summer for some great evening fun!T-shirt Printing Learn a screen printing process to create your own t-shirt design. Use multiple colors, create ombre effects or even use glow in the dark ink! Pottery Wheel Students learn the basics of throwing clay on the pottery wheel. Limit of 5 spots. Urban Art Learn to work with spray paint and create imagery on a large scale. THEATRE CAMP AGES 7-10Theatre Camp is an exciting opportunity for students interested in building their acting skills, or even those looking to try something new. The week will include acting, theatre games, conquering stage fright, developing your character and writing an original play as a group. Walk over to Aiken Community Theatre for a backstage tour. Show off new skills with a live performance for parents on Friday.
ART CAMP AGES 7-10
Unleash that inner creativity! Campers will learn about masterpieces, famous artists, styles of art and how to find inspiration in everything! A variety of 2-D and 3-D projects offered. Individual and collaborative activities in many different mediums. Each week offers a new theme and different projects.
Sculpture Learn 3-D art-making techniques to create sculptures from wire, paper mache, cardboard, or recycled objects to create original artworks. “Like the Masters” Painting Be inspired by famous artists while creating paintings of your own. ANIME 3-D Design an original character and make it three dimensional while working with textiles and paint. Leave with a large stuffed character. “Say it with Color” Painting Explore color while working on a variety of painting projects including a collaborative mural.

Art at a young age encourages exploration, self esteem, imagina-tion, and creativity, how to think openly, create new meanings, be more tolerant of others’ differences and gives courage to take risks. It also improves emotional, social and verbal skills along with higher literacy rates. Activities may include story telling, art, movement, music among others. This is a FREE program but please register. Ages 3 & 4.

ScholarshipsThe ACA Scholarship program is funded by generous donors from the CSRA community. Scholarships are awarded based on availability and to students who demonstrate financial need. Financial aid applicants must be on file two weeks before
Registration InformationEarly registration is recommended to secure a place in a class. We will gladly accept your registration up until class time IF we are able to accommodate you (space, materials, etc.). There is a 5% processing fee for each online registration.
CancellationIf you cancel your registration after it has been pro-cessed, but at least a week before the class begins, we will refund your class fee less $10. If you cancel with less than one week notice, no refund will be given. ACA reserves the right to cancel classes with low enrollment. If we must cancel a class, we will is-sue a full refund.
REGISTRATION
Drop off & pick up: Doors open at 8:45 for drop off. Parents/Guardians sign students in daily. Camps ends at 12:00 PM. Campers will be brought down to the first floor. Please plan to pick up your children at the check-in table no later than 12:15. If you will be late, please let us know Clothing: Please make sure your child wears clothing appropriate for art camp - we will get messy! Camp T-Shirts will be handed out on the first day. Snacks: Students should plan to pack a snack and a drink for our mid-morning break. Please make sure your child’s name is clearly labeled. No soft drinks or peanut products please. Student Exhibition: At the end of each week of camp, students will be invited to select a piece of work to display in the ACA Gallery. Pieces that are chosen will be on display until August 22, 2020. On that date, at our Aiken Arts Alive open house, students may pick up their work. All art left after September 30 will be discarded. Make-up sessions for missed camp time will not be offered. Art projects that are not completed during art camp must be taken home to complete - art camp instructors will not offer additional class time to complete projects.
