unlocking peace: play your #givingtuesday role
TRANSCRIPT
What is OneVoice?
We are an international
grassroots movement that
amplifies the voice of mainstream
Israelis and Palestinians,
empowering them to propel their
elected representatives toward
the two-state solution.
#GivingTuesday, n. The Tuesday after Thanksgiving spent donating online to your favorite organization. Follows copious amounts of guilt from spending on Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.
What is
#GivingTuesday?
That to finally end the conflict
A negotiated, comprehensive, and permanent agreement between Israel and Palestine must:
• End the occupation.
• Ensure security and peace for both sides.
• Solve all final-status issues in accordance with international law and previous bilateral agreements.
• Be based on the 1967 borders, giving Palestine an independent state with permanent borders.*
*Modifications to be agreed upon by both parties.
Planting olive trees in
Palestinian lands
threatened by Israeli
confiscation is one
form of nonviolent
activism OneVoice
Palestine champions
in cities, villages, and
refugee camps across
the West Bank.
Holding political discussions at the foot of the separation
wall is a way for activists to brainstorm their next mass
mobilization initiatives with activist and community
participation.
College recruitment initiatives across Israeli campuses serve
to grow OneVoice Israel’s activist base and engender
discussion about the conflict and occupation with Israel’s
future leaders.
Meetings and conferences with politicians bring the people and their
leaders together. Political heavyweights, including Justice Minister Tzipi
Livni and former Shin Bet head Yaakov Peri, spoke to 500 attendees on
the economic cost of the occupation and conflict on November 13.
