The Traitor’s Wife by Allison Pataki

Socialite Peggy Shippen is half Benedict

Arnold's age when she seduces the war

hero during his stint as military

commander of Philadelphia. Blinded by

his young bride's beauty and wit, Arnold

does not realize that she harbors a

secret: loyalty to the British. Peggy

watches as her husband, crippled from

battle wounds and in debt from years of service to the

colonies, grows ever more disillusioned with his hero,

Washington, and the American cause. Peggy hatches

the plot to deliver West Point to the British and, in

exchange, win fame and fortune for herself and

Arnold.

Avenue of Spies by Alex Kershaw

The incredible true story of an American

doctor in Paris, and his heroic

espionage efforts during the Second

World War.

The leafy Avenue de Foch, one of the

most exclusive residential streets in

Nazi-occupied France, was Paris's

hotbed of daring spies, murderous secret police,

amoral informers, and Vichy collaborators. So when

American physician Sumner Jackson, who lived with

his wife and young son Phillip at Number 11, found

himself drawn into the Liberation network of the French

resistance, he knew the stakes were impossibly high.

(dis)ABILITY AWARENESS DAY

PRESENTED BY THE FRIENDLY BEAN CAFÉ

Join us at The Friendly Bean Café for

an evening of food, friendship and

celebration! We will welcome spring

in the new courtyard garden, enjoy

live music and a short book reading,

and of course indulge in some great Friendly Bean

dinner, dessert, and specialty drinks! It’s the perfect

family night to come and embrace our vision and

mission.

April showers brings May flowers. While you’re stuck

indoors waiting for those flowers, perhaps you are spring

cleaning. Decluttering. Where will you go with all those

books, magazines, DVDs, CDs?

Straight to the library! The Friends of the Library will

gladly take those items off of your hands. Just take them

to the circulation desk at the Lawrenceburg Library or

the North Dearborn Library.

The Friends of the Library raises most of its money from

the ongoing sale of used books, magazines, DVDs and

CDs near the entrance of each library. The coins and

dollars from the purchase of your donated “clutter” really

add up!

Each year, the Friends gives the Lawrenceburg Library

system several thousand dollars so that the libraries can

cover the “extras” that make our library experiences

extra special. There is never a charge to participate in a

library program or class because your donation to the

Friends helps cover the costs involved of events – from

supplies to speakers to refreshments.
