Upcoming Craft Fair

I am so excited to announce that our first Wednesday night program of

the Fall is going to be a craft fair! Our last craft fair, which was hosted

in 2010, was a huge success and I know this one will be even better. We have many gifted

and talented people in our church and community and this is a wonderful opportunity to

highlight those talents and support those folks. Additionally this will be a great way for

each of us to get a jump start on our Christmas shopping. If you know someone who has a

unique gift or product that they make and sell, please invite them to sign up for a booth; the

more variety the better! The form is provided on page 2 of the newsletter. The proceeds

from the booth fee and 5% of each booth’s sales will go towards local missions. Those that

utilize these local agencies will see God’s love for them shown in the benefits of our

support. The hours for the Craft Fair will be 11:00am to 7:00 pm on August 17th. Crafts

will still be displayed on the following Sunday, August 21st.

Wednesday Night Suppers

Our fall menus, from now until October, are going to be a little different from

what we have done in the past. We have asked around and several other

churches have seen success in offering a set menu each Wednesday. Therefore, we have

decided to see if it pleases us as it does others. This way you will know what is being served

the first, second, third and fourth Wednesday of each month. Hopefully the menus will

please everyone and will help to encourage and increase reservation numbers each week. It

is very important to make a reservation each week in order to have plenty of food prepared

to serve. The first Wednesday of each month the menu will be covered dish, with the meat

provided by the church. On that Wednesday, each family will have the opportunity to make

something homemade and in portion sizes with enough to share. I want to hear from you as

the months go by, and welcome your thoughts, comments and suggestions. Each week, I

will have a box set up in the Worship center for comments. Lastly, I want to thank Holly

Vaughn for continuing to cook this year for our Wednesday night suppers. Each week, she

graciously strives to accommodate every diners’ wants and needs. I appreciate your

continued support for our midweek time of fellowship, fun and learning and look forward to

seeing you on August 17th at 5:45pm!
