Bonnie Smith, Secretary
Vice President Chuck Heretta
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you to all the Tiretown members who put forth that extra effort in the month of July to, not only attend, but to enter or work events. We had a very successful autocross with Corvette Cleveland that saw many Tiretown members offering a hand to work and run the event. Thanks again, it has not gone unnoticed.
Not only in the competition area, but also at the park Club meeting and Steak Out at Peg Quine’s, Club participation has been on the upswing. It was a great evening to have over 40 members attending a social. If you missed it, try not to miss the next social and meeting. Thanks Peg for your efforts.
The month of August has a number of car shows starting August 5th in Orville at Serpentini Chevrolet. This is a Tiretown event with sanctions from Fun Center to make a total of six events. The prep work is done, now we need workers and entrants. Get out your fiberglass beauty, dust her off, and display her at the show. FREE ICE CREAM! Did that get your attention? Food will be available from Sassy Dogs and music by Aloha Phil, 50/50 drawing, Chinese Auction, and loads of Corvettes to view, and possible a surprise visit. It will be a great day to chat with others about yours’ and theirs’ car. Let’s raise a lot of money to support Zane’s Foundation as we did earlier this year.
The month continues with more shows and finishes for some of us with a week in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the NCCC National Convention. This is a week of parties, competition events, the eclipse (watch your eyes), renewing and making new friendships, and our annual car raffle. There are still tickets available at $50 with your choice of a voucher for the base price of a new Corvette or cash. Go to the National website for further details.
As a final thought, I take great pride in seeing new members and longtime members coming to events, socials, and meetings and being involved. As we grow older (not me), the spark for the only American Sports Car is still burning strong. Enjoy your car and your Club, these true friendships are with you forever. Keep trying new things, you may just like them. As always, call me if you need me and…Thanks
Chuck
Please contact me if you would like to attend this dedication and if you would be able to drive your Corvette.

Membership Report
The July 10, (the date was changed from 7/3 because of the Holiday) cookout dinner/meeting started at 5:30 with the meeting starting at about 7:00. Chief Dave Hollingsworth cooked the Hotdogs and Kielbasa, each member brought a dish to share.
We had 23 members and 3 visitors. Bill Bray, Al Rex, who owns a 1985 Red w/ black stripes
Corvette and Anthony Hurt, who owns a 1975 Green Corvette. Both guys founds us on the internet. They were given a copy of the July Newsletter and told a little about our club.
We have been asked to be the main car club at the Gervasis Vineyard Cruise-In on Weds.
August 30. The Cruise-in time is 5:00 - 8:00, the address is 1700 55th St NE just east of Market Ave N in Canton. The phone number is 330-497-1000. Gervasi's offers food discounts to Cruiser at their 3 restaurants. They have door prizes and 50/50 at 7:30. We can meet and cruise down together from the Akron area. We could meet at Chuck & Elaine's, 346 Barrister Ave. SE. North Canton, 44721 and then cruise-in together. let me know how you want to get there and if you are going to join us.
The club has decided to print new Vinyl Banners, they will be at the August meeting. If you are interested in purchasing a banner let me know and we can get the banners ordered for you. The banners are 36"x60" and the cost is $ 45.00 the smaller banner is 18"x24" and the cost is $15.00.
The Tiretown "almost" Annual Steak Roast was Sat. July 29, at Peg Quine's house. The steaks
were expertly cooked by Chef Charles. There may be pictures, either on the website or on our Facebook page. Each person/couple brought appetizers, side dishes, or desserts. We have a lot of good cooks in our membership and because of that we all probably tried a little of everything that was offered.
