ATSI NEWS Our senior ATSI students attended the annual Schools to University Insight Day at the University of Newcastle Ourimbah Campus last week. Students were exposed to a day in the life of a university student. The sessions were outstanding with students being exposed to a variety of subject areas such as Sports Science, Hospitality and Creative Industries. It’s a day not to be missed!

It’s almost like being in Japan…. Almost! Finally, we had a blast hosting the Year 6 Primary Fun Day. Year 6 now know how to cook a Japanese dish – Yakisoba, make some origami and write their names in Japanese. We had so much fun. Thanks for coming Year 6! YEAR 9 LEADERSHIP Year 9 students attended the yLead Leadership Altitude Day in Sydney. They were able to interact with other student leaders from across NSW and listen to some inspiration speakers on the day. They were fantastic ambassadors for EHS and demonstrated that they are destined to be the future leaders of our school. Well done, Year 9!

GOALBALL On Monday 18 June, five Year 8 students travelled to Newcastle to compete in the 2018 Hunter and Central Coast Regional Goalball Championships. The team was very successful and progressed through their round games which landed them in the finals. Thus securing their spot in the State Championships to be held in Sydney in November. The team was captained by Makayla Reilly and also consisted of Allegra Dewan, Thalia Galvin, Christina Stewart, Lisette Tyson. Great effort girls and good luck in the State Championships. Coach Saisell

BOYS HOCKEY On Tuesday 19 June EHS sent its Open Boys Hockey team to Wyong to play against the team from Tuggerah Lakes Secondary College. For the majority of the EHS team this was the first time they had set foot onto a hockey field and they should be commended as they put in a valiant effort against a more experienced and well prepared team. The weather did not make it any easier for our boys, but each student was in good spirits and played enthusiastically right up to the last minute. Unfortunately, Erina did not come away with the win, going down by only 6 goals. Man of the Match goes to

Andrew Griffith and coach’s award to Brad Jay. Thanks to all the boys who participated and put in their best efforts and special thanks to Kristina Horne who trained the boys over the past few weeks and coached the boys on the day.
