Principal Black’s Message Feliz año nuevo familias Superestrellas!

Además me gustaría agradecerle a nuestro PTA.

Juntos Brillamos!!

NOTIFICATION OF COMMUNICABLE DISEASE: PINWORMS

PINWORMS: There has been a reported case(s) of pinworms at school. Pinworms are tiny worms that live in the intestinal tract. The female lays the eggs around the rectum, usually at night. This causes intense itching of the rectal area. Transmission occurs when the eggs are spread by person-to-person contact or indirectly through contaminated objects. The incubation period may be anywhere from 2 weeks to 2 months.

SYMPTOMS: Pinworms cause intense itching of the rectal area.

TREATMENT: If you suspect that your student has pinworms – see your health care provider. The usual treatment is one dose of a prescription medication upon diagnosis and a repeat dose 2-3 weeks later. Sheets, towels, underclothing and sleepwear need to be laundered when the student is first treated.

PREVENTION:

1. Wash hands after using the bathroom. 2. Wash hands before eating. 3. Keep fingernails short. 4. Encourage student to keep fingers out of his/her mouth.
