The weather was kind to us this year and we were able to have another great carnival. A big thanks to all of our helpers on the day including our school P & C, Mr Bingham, parent helpers, teachers and other staff, and of course Mrs Sipple who was the carnival convenor. As we always say, these events only run smoothly because we work together (Synergise) as a team. Our Carnival Champions and Runners Up for each age division are listed later in the newsletter. Congratulations to our winning house – Oxley. Debating Teams On Tuesday our two debating teams competed at Timbumburi Public School. We performed extremely well in both debates, winning one and losing one. This is a fine achievement considering Timbumburi were the state champions in debating last year! Well done debaters. Thanks to Mr Robert Lewis who was the adjudicator for both debates. School Attendance Attendance at school is obviously very important and all children should attend school every day unless they have a good reason not to be there. One important reason for children NOT to be at school is when they are sick. A sick child at school exposes other students, teachers and staff to the possibility of also getting sick. PLEASE make sure you make other arrangements for your child when they are sick. Schools are not able to care for sick children. If your child is sick at school you will be contacted to come and collect them. Late Check-In or Early Departure For the benefit of all parents, but particularly our new parents, I would like to explain the procedures for arriving late at school or being picked up early. If for some reason your child is late to school, they need to be accompanied to the office where they will receive a note from the office staff. They will then take this note to their classroom teacher who will adjust the roll accordingly. If your child needs to leave school early, an adult (Parent/Carer) needs to report to the office to get the appropriate note. Our office staff are always ready to assist you in these matters and answer any inquiries you may have. Protocols like these are integral to compliance with the legislative guidelines for regular school attendance. Your support in these matters is appreciated. Term 2, Week 10 29 June 2017

Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Program Today in the kitchen we turned a very basic packet of 2

minute noodles into a very healthy chicken, vegetable

and egg drop soup. We collected snow peas, carrots and

parsley from the garden and got to work washing,

chopping and adding our vegetables to a lovely broth of

chicken stock and noodles. The egg was drizzled in, and

the soup thickened nicely into a warm bowl of

goodness. The children were extremely impressed by

their creation and worked cooperatively and with intent

to get a great result. Well done to you all.
