Social Learning Wall


Step 1:

Click Collaboration.

Accessing the SLW

Click Social Learning Wall.

Privacy setting

*Note:

Public – Default settings for posting. Can be viewed by everyone.

Private – Postings can only be viewed by the user himself/herself

Custom – Postings can only be viewed by selected recipients.

Step 2:

Click to Post

For Custom posts, key in

the required recipient and

select the username from

the given autocomplete

suggestions

Click to Confirm.

To remove comments, move

your mouse over the

comment and click on the X

icon that appears

Click Delete on the popup

Click the drop-down button at the upper

right corner of the post, then click Delete.

Accessing Your Notifications

Step 1:

Click Notifications.

Step 2:

The list of notifications is displayed here. Click

on any notification to access it and view in full.


Students do not have an option to put

up a Public post on the public wall

Step 4 (optional):

Click on your new

avatar to crop and align.

Step 1:

Click to update Avatar.

Step 2:

Click Upload Avatar.

Step 3:

Select the file & click Choose.

Step 5:

Click Save.

Click Latest to view recent posts.

Click Created by Me to view the

group walls that you have created.

Step 1:

Click Shared to Me to view group walls created

by other teachers that you have been added to

Step 2:

Click on Create Wall.

Step 1:

Under Group Walls,

click on Created by Me.

Step 4:

Select the desired

Permissions to

enable/disable users to

post and comment on

your created wall.

Step 3:

Enter the Wall Name

& Description

Step 5:

Key in the name of the required class/group

or even individual student/teacher and

select the autocompleted suggestions given

Step 6:

Click Create Wall.



Step 7:

To view and begin posting

on your new group wall,

click on the title

To edit your group wall

settings, click Settings

The video title will be

automatically inserted. You

may make changes to it.

Click Post


Commenting on Videos Using Timestamps

Step 1:

Play the uploaded

video and pause at

the required scene Step 2:

Post your comments and the

timestamp will be appended

at the end of your comment

*Note: Timestamps allow users to make the video

jump to the specific time by clicking on them


Step 1:

Click on Web Link.

Step 2:

Copy & paste the required

website address (URL)

Step 3:

The website description will

be automatically inserted.

You may make changes to it.

Step 4:

Click Post


Step 1:

Click on External Tool

Sharing a Mindomo Mind Map & Tracking Student Access

Step 2:

Click Share my Mindmap


Step 3:

Search for an existing mind

map or just select from the list


*Note: You need to have existing mind maps to share

Step 4:

Click Add


Step 5:

The map title will be automatically

inserted. You may add additional

description or comments.


Step 6:

Click Post



Step 7:

To view the list of students who

have accessed your shared

map, click Track Progress

Step 8:

The student list and attempted

dates will be displayed.

*Note: In group walls, your shared map will be accessible to

all wall members. Shared maps are viewable but not editable.


Step 1:

Click on External Tool

Step 2:

Click Create Mindmap Assignment


Step 3:

Enter the Assignment Title

Step 4:

Click Continue



Step 5:

Select how the assignment will

be completed by students

Step 6:

Click here to add attachments

for student reference



Step 7:

Click Update

Step 8:

Click Close

*Note:

You may access this page

again at any time to post

comments & updates to

your Mindomo assignment



Step 10:

Click Post

Step 9:

The map title will be automatically

inserted. You may add additional

description or comments.



Step 11:

To track your students’ progress,

clic on the assignment link

Step 12:

The student list with the submission

status will be displayed. Click to

view the submitted mind maps.



Step 2:

To delete your group

wall, click Delete

Under Group Walls,


*Note: When the group wall is no longer needed,

the preferred option would be to go to Settings

to remove all the group members. This allows

you to keep an archive of the discussions.
