New Features in Discrete Manufacturing
Oracle Landed Cost Management
• Captures and itemizes all the merchandise and non-merchandise
related costs associated with an organization’s supply chain
• Increase visibility and ensure compliance required by International
trade
• Drives strategic decisions around sourcing, product pricing,
contract negotiation, and product planning initiative
14
Fujitsu America
New Features in Discrete ManufacturingOracle Landed Cost Management
15
• Costs are flexibly allocated and assigned back to the products for which they
should apply
• Allocation During the receiving and invoicing processes
• Replace PO costs with landed cost
Fujitsu America
New Features in Discrete Manufacturing
16
• WIP Parameters • Propagate job changes to the purchasing documents - ‘Automatic’ or ‘Manual’. The
workflow is initiated when the number of days either in the Days Early or Days Late
fields is exceeded
• Component yield is optionally factored into component quantities during material
transactions
• Rounding issues.
Fujitsu America
New Features in Discrete Manufacturing
17
• WIP Parameters Contd…• These parameters affect how WIP assembly completion transactions are costed in
an average costing organization – based on actual resource cost or predefined cost
type
• Serialized assembly options
• Quantity changes during backflush - Provides the ability to over or under issue pull
components for assembly moves, completions; and mobile work order-less
completions requiring lot and serial information
Fujitsu America
New Features in Discrete Manufacturing
18
• Inventory Parameters • Deferred COGS Account holds the costs after shipping until Receivables
recognizes the revenue
• Transfer to GL is always summary
• When you delete a source order, or delete or cancel the order line, the system
automatically deletes the associated move order allocations
Fujitsu America
New Features in Discrete Manufacturing
19
• Inventory Parameters Contd…• On-Hand Material Status - To enable this field, you must submit the ‘Activate
Onhand Level Material Status Tracking’ concurrent program
• Manufacturing Partner Organization indicates if an original equipment
manufacturer is a manufacturing partner - Chargeable Subcontracting in East Asia
• WCS - Warehouse Control System provides a bridge between Warehouse
Management and the control level for device automation and integration, and the
coordination of task execution
• LCM – Landed Cost Management (Note ID 782920.1)
Fujitsu America
New Features in Discrete Manufacturing
20
• Inventory Parameters Contd…• Child Lot Control – When lot control is at the organization level, The system bases
the child lot numbers on the same sequence as the parent lot number or adds the
next available number to form the child lot
• Lot UOM Conversion - Automatically creates lot-specific unit of measure
conversions for dual UOM items in OPM
• Material Status - You can / cannot transfer out of, receive into, or produce material
into an existing status and the new quantity inherits the existing status of the
material
Fujitsu America
New Features in Discrete Manufacturing
21
• Inventory Parameters Contd…• Overpicking Control to allow operators to over pick - components and ingredients
for WIP jobs and process batches / for Transfer Orders Enabled to allow over
allocation for move orders
• Reservation that includes all necessary details such as subinventory, locator and
lot, then the system uses this reservation instead of picking rules to create the
allocation
Fujitsu America

56
• Actual Start Time of Jobs• WIP and OSFM capture the actual start and end times of activities
• Job operators perform “Clock in / Clock out” or “Report my time” transactions in
WIP
• Job operators in OSFM perform move in and move out transactions
• ASCP supports the actual start times as part of the planning
process• The activity start times are firmed as the actual start time
• Activities are scheduled forward from the firm start time, using the total hours
assigned to the activity
• The completion time of the activity is projected based on the actual start time
Fujitsu America
New Features in ASCP
57
• Sequence Dependent Setups• Calculation of sequence dependent setup times
• ASCP calculates a changeover time on a resource, when the resource completes
an activity of a certain setup type and moves to an activity of a different setup
type
• Creation of optimal sequences• ASCP makes key planning decisions on the correct sequence of activities to be
performed on a resource that minimizes the time lost to setups and maximizes on
time demand satisfaction

59
• End Item Substitution
• With a sales order release, ASCP passes the substitute item in case of end-item
substitution recommendation. This changes the item on the sales order line.
• This is in addition to releasing date, organization, and ship method changes
• Priority sequence for substitute item list is inferred from the “Effective Date From”
attribute in the Item Relationships window
Fujitsu America
New Features in ASCP
60
• ASCP Safety Lead Time
• Safety lead time is the amount of time that ASCP schedules supplies in advance of
the corresponding demand due dates
• This results in an inventory buffer during the span of the safety lead time which can
hedge against demand uncertainty
• Use of safety lead time is an alternative to planning to safety stock target levels
